Everything works, except the cront side lights and parking lights when you turned the headlights on. Similar to when I first got a 1979 Chevrolet Malibu two door pillared hardtop to drive to high school in the early 1990s. This car didn't have air conditioning either, the only power options that it did have were a three speed automatic transmission (no overdrive gear), power steering and power brakes. It had the 200 ci V6 engine (basically a 5.0 liter V8 with the cront two cylinders not there in the block). It even still looked decent outside witb its maroon metallic paint and full metal wheel covers over steel 14 inch wheels. Inside, the headliner was coming down and needed ribbing to hold it up (an idea from seeing the way these were installed in mid to late 1950s Chevy cars). Also ,it had clear non tinted glass, so the vinyl dashboard cracked, but the seats didn't yet back then, because they were combiniation vinyl and cloth, similar to yours, but witb the seatback split for rear seat access from wither side since it was a two door pillared hardtop (no side window framing while still having a b pillar and non retractable rear side windows), along with that annoying peg that heald the glass against the weatherstrip when rolled up. That was something that could far too easily break off due to getting a garage stopping point hanging ball on a string cought in between the window and peg if it somehow got knocked away from the center of the windshield when you entered the garage. Such as wipers still on from rain outside while coming in. At least your four door sedan doesn't have to have this peg ,as its windows are fully framed. Then again, the reason for the rear opera vent winfow: the rear side windows don't roll down at all. So ,it is great that your air conditioner still works well.
We had a 1980. The 1980 had a 229 V-6, 231 V-6, and 305 V-8. Ours had the 231 V-6 which was the Buick engine. My father sold it in 1996 with almost 200,000 miles on the clock. He sold it to a local buyer, and I still see it on the road today.
mythical Malibu I had 2 one from 1979 with a 3.2 liter V6 engine and one 1980 3.8 liter V6 very good
Nice. I'd drive this spring, summer, fall as a change from my white 79 two door.

Nice car. My first car was a 1980 Ford Fairmont. The Fairmont and Malibu are very similar.
Our 1980 Malibu with the same body style shown here was the most comfortable car I sat in.
