"I'm only faking when I get it right" has always hit me pretty hard. Great band, worth digging into further, even if you don't react to everything. They definitely do dark and mysterious. Be well, man!
Oooo! Chris Cornell is 🔥 Soundgarden, Audioslave, and solo. All amazing! You’ll love the poetic lyrics and delivery. More Soundgarden is great, but I love Audioslave. Like a Stone, Cochise, I am the Highway… Enjoy!
Check out Black Hole Sun. It is pretty good. But there are several more. (Blow up the Outside, The day i tried to live, Pretty Noose, Outshined, Spoonman) Then you can go into Audioslave for even more powerful lyrics. RIP Chris 🙏 😪🤘
What a beautiful soul Chris Cornell was. His solo albums are very under appreciated. Temple of the Dog (with PearJam) is incredible. He could entertain you with just a guitar and his voice or he could full on jam with the heaviest band. Check out his acoustic rendition of Billie Jean.
Lead singer Chris Cornell. Soundgarden, audio slave's "like a stone" (a must,) or "show me how to live" 'Temple of the dog "hunger strike" Chris Cornell's remakes of "nothing compares to you" by Prince and "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson (acoustic version). This guy is one of the best. vocals ever. All of these will blow you away.
These guys were shot out of the same Seattle can(n)on as Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, etc. I remember stumbling into a Soundgarden show at the Seattle Center back when Bumbershoot was free in the late 80s. Blew me away. You need to listen to this whole album.
Pope, He’s talking about what he says in the first couple lines of the song. now he’s doing time, but I don’t know if it’s literal or figurative. Doing time is locking up something you want to see fly.
I was at Chris Cornell last concert in Hawaii with the band. They make it to the first encore and walked off the stage half way thru as I remember. 4th of July is my Favorite song by them. Great content. To me music get repetitive unless I'm watching some one seeing and hearing them for the first time. Keep up the good work.
One of my 10 favorite bands of all time. And I been listening since the 60's. I won't give my entire top 10 or any order but it includes Led Zeppelin and Alice in Chains
The entirety of this album is god tier! Black Hole Sun and Spoonman are two other great ones. You’re stepping into grunge territory, my man! I also recommend Alice In Chains, Nirvana (I believe you have a few videos of reactions to them), Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Candlebox and Pearl Jam. All great grunge bands as well! 😄
@POPE Check out the 4th of July by Soundgarden I'm sure you will like it.soundgarden is one of those bands that puts emphasis on texture in their instrumentation to convey a message most people tend to overlook it .4:57 before Nirvana
Chris was in band w members of Rage Against The Machine. Called Audioslave. Try Cochise, like a stone…really anything w him in it. Also Chris solo acoustic cover Nothing compares to you.
"Don't you lock up something that you wanted to see fly" is absolutely one of the best lyrics of this cool song.
astounding
😢CHRISTOPHER!!😫😞 RIP. The best 4 octave voice in the business.
Soundgarden was so awesome. RIP Chris Cornell...one of the greatest vocalists of all time, not just in rock. Check out their song "Superunknown"

Such an underrated gem from the 90s.
Welcome to the magic of what Chris Cornell shared with us all…🙌🏽
Legends! Slave and Bulldozers by Soundgarden is one of the best rock vocals of all time. It will melt your brain in the best way. Great reaction POPE!
I am the Highway. Audioslave. Outshined , say Hello to Heaven, Billy Jean.
I got to hear Cornell play this acoustically during his first solo album concert at a small venue. 😊
RIP CHRIS

Saw SG with NIN at Red Rocks Amphitheater in CO. A fantastic night of music. SG was always my favorite grunge bank…RIP Chris! ☹️
The Day I Tried to Live has a similar lyrical content - dark but a little hopeful at the end. Superunknown the song (and the album) too.
The Black Sabbath of the `90`s.
Very moving song. Glad it moved you.

Outshined by Soungarden is a banger with some great lyrics.
Wow Pope... surprised you haven't been hipped to Soundgarden yet. Keep goin', there's a lot of gold in that mine. Peace.

That’s when they were having problems with Ben.
Fresh tendrils brother!

❤Love this band. One of my favorites
Over the Border by A Flock of Seagulls. Somehow, I thought of that....completely different but the same in that it's about inaccessibility....

Rusty Cage
Cool. Awesome tune. Also check out Alice In Chains -- "Man in the Box", "Bleed the Freak", "Would?", "Them Bones", "Rooster", "Heaven Beside You" ...

You should do Outshined and Slaves and Bulldozers by these guys.
Audioslave is another band with the same singer and Rage Against The Machine band members, great stuff
Check out their song
Rusty Cage❤❤❤❤🤟🤟
You should check out audioslave cochise
I think you'd like Blow Up The Outside World, Spoonman, Black Hole Sun, Rusty Cage and Outshined.
I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing. Isn't it Fell On Black Days lol
You should check out the song "Black Days Begin" by Atreyu
Anything off of Superunknown is great Black Hole Sun was a radio favorite, but overrated..according to Chris Cornell.
Depressive dude.
That was rather downlifting
