The hardest job on a boat is serving up delicious food. Your wife is brilliant. The quality of your diet is reflected in both of your physiques. Good food will keep you out of hospital. It is amazing how the two of can have a culinary discussion over bowls on the counter while rocketing along at 8-9 knots.
Thanks a lot Pat appreciate the kind words and fully agree with you Clo is amazing. She can cook up a feast in 30kts+. We've done a few miles together now, 80,000nm+ since we meet in 2014. I've seen her cook up the most delicious fresh Gnocchi Alla Romana with Amatriciana Sauce on a monohull in the middle of the golf stream heading to New York from Bermuda rolling gunnel to gunnel while smiling! Could not ask for a better person to cross oceans with and she knows how to sail, helm, weather route, route plan and navigate like a pro! and yeah Spirit XL is also pretty cool! ;-)
That’s super cool! 😁 thanks a lot it really is great to know there’s people out there that enjoy a few minutes of being onboard with us and sailing ⛵️ 🙏🙏
Healthy food is really appealing. Totally agree with the philosophy, and like that it's tasty. The boat is moving quickly and getting moved a bit in the waves, but compared to a monohull, the motion is really minor. The motion in the galley is negligible. The smooth, balanced wake proves how well the boat moves through the water. 3:55 Really good weather.
Are you guys planning on doing your refit in Bundy? Winds back on the quarter again, nice. You mentioned some flex a day or so ago when pressed a bit, in the hull or bulkhead?
No firm plans as yet it'll likely be between the Gold Coast and Brisbane more contractors, suppliers and yard however also means more $$ we'll just give it a few months and see where things lead too. The issue with the flexing isn't from the structure so much it's just the deck flexing where the inboard sheeting points sheet too, the balsa core has water ingress via poor installation of deck hardware. It's cool but we have to keep the breeze under 20-25kt apparent if sailing upwind and using the inboard sheeting points.
If you were into merchandising, which I know you’re not, the SPIRIT sweatshirt with “You Can’t Overeat Beans” on the back would be a bestseller. Cheers.
Interesting topic for the day! I just finished my breakfast which included mirepoix, ground beef (grass fed) and fusilli pasta. I also had some sunflower seeds, a little bit of dark chocolate and mango. The bowl of mirepoix, beef and pasta never ceases to amaze me, as it's so damn simple, but delicious. You don't have to be a chef to cook this stuff or to eat like a king! And speaking of never ceasing to amaze, seeing Spirit moving along at 10 to 12 knots, while there's just the slightest bit of disturbance from the main hull is IMPRESSIVE.
Thank you 🙏 yeah how cool is it to just sit and watch the water bubble away from the stern in a whisper of breeze. The oceans just so soothing for the soul!
Not really, we stowed enough food and provisioned for eight months when in Panama as it's easier to carry dry goods and to then buy fresh goods in the Pacific. Fresh is abundant on the islands however dry are imported and cost a fortune. So with this in mind we always have plenty of food onboard. We do eat fish but tend to buy it from locals, be given it or rarely we catch it. I'd say once or twice a year we catch a fish.

Really good weather.
Eating well at sea is just one of the keys to having a great passage. Happy belly happy crew 😁
5:00 Great conditions/window for out there ⛵👍
Thanks yeah it’s been a wonderful passage and weather window. Just gets better each day 😁

G’day all, super nice sailing,I’ll go along with the statement about the beans, you certainly can’t over bean.Best wishes always 🙂
Cheers Wayne and thanks 🙏 Those words bring a very big smile to Clos face. She’s in love with beans! I think they’re in every meal we have 😂

Man I love that that’s pretty funny and I’d love to see Clo in it 😁 maybe we need to take this UA-cam thing more seriously 😂

Wow now that sounds good! food is like most things in life best kept simple :-)
Thank you again for sharing your journey! Just beautiful!
Stoked you're aboard for the ride and enjoying it. Thanks!
Yummo🎉 was good to see you both....
Agree 💯
Thanks mate 🙏
Quality sailors, quality boat. The stern shots are wicked, its as if you have a big outboard powered up, but no, its a sail !
I always enjoy tuning in to the newest post here. My dream boat would be very similar to this one. 🌞🌴⛵
Thank you 🙏 yeah how cool is it to just sit and watch the water bubble away from the stern in a whisper of breeze. The oceans just so soothing for the soul!
This trimaran looks similar to the one from Kevin Costner waterworld?? I loved that boat. I always wanted to live on the water after that movie.
That’s so cool you should definitely make that dream a reality!! ⛵️
Mate, she's just steaming along eh.
She is hey! Loving it out here 😁
Do you fish much/ever?

They had a line out back in earlier videos, but I wonder if the boat is too fast for the fish.
