I am not even a wife or mom yet but sometimes watching all of these different families online can yes be inspiring but it can also make me feel this anxiety of like "I can't milk the cow and have chickens, travel and serve my future kids and husband"lol. This was such a good word on not giving into that. "Comparison cripples your calling." Amen!!

I needed the encouragement about how spending time with God is like eating a meal- you have to do it daily. I've been struggling with that lately. Today I made sure to start my morning by reading some scripture and I've been way more productive! It's like I have a whole new mindset after praying, repenting and starting fresh.

I love the part where you discuss that the only place where comparison can live in a healthy way is on the altar that is if you can look at someone and say I can see Jesus so beautifully in their life and I desire some of that, and it draws you in God's presence. That is a beautiful comparison :) I love that it reminds me, a couple days ago, I was reading in the book of Exodus and wow Moses' relationship with God was very intimate and I was like Jesus I want something like that. Moses was speaking to God, his face used to shine every time He came out of the place he was speaking to God. He saw the Lord but not his face when I was reading that I was so happy because I was like God loves us and he shows how intimate he can be with us. With Moses it was intense, God pursues us but He does it in a unique way, each one has a different call but each person's call is beautiful. I have a question for Moms raising kids. I remember when we were growing up, my parents avoided the unhealthy comparison between kids by buying us the exact things, they used to buy us the same thing like twins. I think that solved the problem but I don't think it was really good because when we grew up, God gives us different things. It doesn't teach Kids to later appreciate what God gives them and avoid falling into the comparison trap. How do you handle this with your kids? Just thinking, I am not even a mom yet, I am single but recently God wanted me to learn on the topic of raising healthy kids. I would love to learn from all the moms out there. Thank you for this podcast and for pouring your God's given wisdom into it as well as responding to his call 🎉❤ Be blessed ❤
You should do a podcast on how you HEAR the Lord. Like you said, Nava heard his voice audibly, do you hear it the same way? How do you recognize a clear word from Him?
Just for the sake of giving you a resource on this topic, the Desiring God post titled “Should We Listen For the Audible Voice of God?” is a good read on this topic. A lot of perspectives tend to either deny people ever hear a voice or idolize a particular experience, this article is very balanced. But long story short: the Bible says not everyone will have that experience, but when we do, it will be in alignment with His Word, His Scripture! And any voices we hear must be tested! But we all do have the Holy Spirit, so we can not downplay His role whether we get the particular experiences we might crave for whatever reason
