@@HajimotoProductions hi would you be able to get in touch with me? I have a pellet I was curious if you would be interested in testing it should be a 24-grain 22 magnum pellet. I'm curious how it would do in The gauntlet 2
Doctor Haji... Oh my, as a(hajified) Gauntlet owner, I am blown away by what they've done and I will say it is in direct correlation to the blood, sweat, and tears you put into the Gauntlet over the years... 👍👏, Travis
While I agree some of the trends that caught on were helped along by myself and other but Umarex USA has its finger on the pulse of the entire airgun community and if they see several sources recommending the same thing, they are forced to notice. Thank you for your continued support and kind words.
@@ralphperrier The operating pressure is only one of the variables responsible for power generation. Valve design, air pathway efficiency, plenum volume and consistency are all part of that equation as well.
You are right on!!! My 100 yard shots are unbelievable! It’s hard to believe!! The gauntlet 2 , after 3 pcps, is the gun for me- had mine a year and I am 5k rounds in!!! Thanks Haji
Amazing. I was just entering the world of PCP and I was about to order a Gauntlet and just the day I was going to order it, I saw this video and I am not lying when I say that I get excited like a child
WOW, Haji !!!! This is what I call a sequel !!!! It looks great, I love the oversized gear shifter, the color, bottle, and power. The original Gauntlet was good, and mine is all Haji'd out to the max which is why it's so good, and then you take it to a whole new level !!! This will sell like hotcakes.
I'm a fairly new PCP guy, having owned/used many "piston guns" in the past. Not long ago I made the jump to a Marauder... but found it's "thump" for small game somewhat lacking. I was so intrigued by your video, that I pre-ordered the Gauntlet 2. If it lives up to the hype, it will make for a great Bang for the Buck. Looking forward to more on this gun. Thanks for the reveiew!
Ed, if you have the non regulated version if the Marauder, you have a PCP that can make big power my friend. I am not trying to talk you out of a Gauntlet 2 I'm just letting you know you have a very capable PCP in your collection already.
@@HajimotoProductions Understood! Thank you! I've played around with tuning the Marauder, and have found that while it can make "power", in my case I found that as I increase the power, the accuracy goes out the window... no matter what pellet weight. When dialing it down to the point of acceptable accuracy, the power to cleanly kill something like a gopher just isn't there. Maybe it's my inexperience with the PCP guns..... but frankly I've been disappointed with the Marauder as far as finding that "sweet spot" of acceptable accuracy, yet having enough power to cleanly knock down small game. Based on your eval of the Gauntlet 2, I was think it might be better..... thoughts?
Finally someone who tests rifles to 100 yds! Now a days just about any rifle will give you decent accuracy at 25 yds, but the real test is when you push it beyond 50 yds. Thank you Hajimoto!!
My gauntlet .25 is cheating at 25&50yds lol the first time I took it out and got it sighted in I couldn't believe for smaller calibers I've only ever ran break barrels I have big bore air rifles but the gauntlet is my first precharged .25 and it's amazing
I finally managed to make the move to PCPs earlier this year when I bought a Gauntlet. Now I have to start saving up again cuz this review just helped me decide what my 2nd PCP is going to be, lol. Really enjoy your reviews.
Woah.......I got so excited mid review I had to come down here and say thank you, this is the perfect jolt to get me back into squirrel hunting! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
This thing is a BEAST!!!! I have some trick to make it a more bridled beast but as demonstrated in my review, this thing SLAPS! Thanks for your comment.
The PCPs keep getting improved quickly. This new stock shape allows the big tank to look right. Maybe it required too much changing to make the cocking to side lever, but that would have been super. Very good review too, Hajimoto, showing your being so impressed. Thanks for showing.
They done a very good job at upgrading the gauntlet , I can’t wait to see what it will do with the same upgrade in 25 cal. I have the original 25 gauntlet and it shoots very good.
Oh they are reading this and do not think for one second that side lever cocking was not discussed. Its just a matter of retooling, additional manufacturing time and ultimately cost.
I doubt they will go carbon bottle, it will increase cost to much. The aftermarket carbon bottles are there for people that want to upgrade but on the shelf the carbon bottle would be the price not look nearly as good to the average consumer.. They target the average consumer with these budget rifles, they are not targeting us that are already heavily in the hobby.
Fate? The G2 will not be on the streets until July so you would be without a tuned or more powerful Gauntlet for quite some time, right??? We can't have that now....
@@HajimotoProductions is there any other pcp that you would recommend in the same price range over the G2? Excellent review, and I'm looking to get my first pcp. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time
@@slcustomcarpentry853 yes, the air venturi avenger with an adjustable reg and adjustable hammer spring without breaking the gun down. the 22 cal avg fps is between 925-975 shooting a 18.13 grain pellet.
Haji......awesome video my brother...the new gen 2 gauntlet is looking cool my brother..awesome review...im not sure but wen I put that Dame FX chronograph in front of my barrel's It always change my POI...every time...and it changes or messed with your harmonics of the gun too.. I experienced that my self on a couple of my own gun's...test it with it, and test with out it...awesome work my brother...👍👍🇺🇸
Will, the man the myth the legend is the hizouse! Thanks for the kind words, my dude. I agree with the harmonic and POI changes of hanging something off the barrel but this ole boy performed dope no matter on or off! You be chilly bro and thanks again!
@@HajimotoProductions definitely agree with you 💯% my brother that bad boy performed excellent at a hundred yards...especially with no wind no wind shot's you took at that 100 yards..amazing! SUB...MOA...your the man Haji!!👍👍🇺🇸
I can tell this guy is just a damn good dude. Great shooting man! It’s tough to get accuracy like that regardless of how accurate the rifle is. Good dude, and good shooter. Tough to beat that. 🍻
That crazy I just seen that this came out on a live stream and you already have one in hand sweet I did even no they were going to redesign the hole stock look like a power house wish I could take it apart. Keep them coming 👍👌✌️🎯💯 go moto
Great job Haji I’ve been a gauntlet fan since the beginning I have the 25 just wanted to know if the weight taken from the rear and transferred does the gun feel a little front heavy?? A whole lot of bottle up there and not carbon just wondering how front end heavy did it make it?
Hey Donnie! The balance felt good to me. The bottle is aluminum which is pretty light considering. The G1 used to feel butt heavy the G2 feels neutral to me
Fine rifle, but your marksmanship is impressive, mostly so when the conditions were largely inhospitable, but that is shooting in nature and under real conditions. I am keen on the JSB Monster Redesigned pellets at 25.39 grn. for my .22 Huben, which I shoot at 965 fps for 51 FPE. Thank you again. Best to you and yours. Happy Christmas.
Didn't know either. But this video pops up. I was thinking about buying a $2,000 dollar gun. But now Iam buying this. I already have a gen 1 Gauntlet. Have the 360cc bottle. I love that rifle. Its my 1st pcp. I have guns well over $1,000 dollars and would get rid of them before my Gauntlet. Iam happy to see this. ✨
I'm very curious what if much you'll upgrade? I'm guessing there's still some polishing needed? Are the transfer ports in both receiver and barrel increased from the old model? Does the Gauntlet 2 make the Hajimoto TurnKey or Platinum Package less attractive? What might the Platinum Package for the Gauntlet 2 look like? Thanks for your time reviewing and working with these products!
I will continue to offer tuning services, porting, polishing, lapping, crowning, lead in changes and adjustability modifications. The G2 will be a part of my offerings in Turnkey type packages. These will be rolled out in the near future. Thanks for some great questions.
I had my gauntelet 22 for two years now and it just doesn't get old I love my gauntelet , I was just about to order the larger bottle for it but seeing this video made me change my mind
I have been on the fence... couldn't decide... between Umarex Gauntlet, Air Arms Avenger & Umarex Origin... I'M SO GLAD I WAITED !!! I'll pull the trigger on this... soon.
I wish I could have said something sooner but I had to sit on this information for quite some time, LOL. The G2 will be available around June/July of 2021, fingers crossed.
If I were buying just one? It would be between the Avenger and the Gauntlet. Both choices are good. But this Gauntlet 2 takes it to a little higher level. With that bottle, plus a 4500psi fill. Its pretty awesome. Especially with the m-lock rails. This rifle is made to shoot heavy pellets, or slugs. I wouldn't even buy a pellet under 25gr. I will absolutely be buying one.
Yeah I got screwed and preordered a gauntlet 3 months ago. Then I bought every mod from hajimoto here. Have all my upgrade parts sitting and still never recieved the gauntlet from airgun depot.
Aww man! I was getting ready to start modifying my .177 original Gauntlet. Now I think I need to pick up a gen 2 in .22 first!! Awesome video Hajimoto!!!
I can get a G1 to perform very very good but when the floor is raised as high as the G2, the performance glass ceiling is shattered. There is going to be some incredible things that I will be doing with this ole boy.
@@bullfrogairguns probably will. But I don't think the Gauntlet is designed to change out bottles under pressure. So why do it? This bottle is nearly double in size and fills 1,500psi higher.
@@heithwatkins hey there! I'm going to modify my original Gauntlet and the biggest thing for me is the barrel band. If I have the longer bottle, I won't have to modify anything else to utilize the band.
Hey Haji or should I say Mr. Gauntlet. I've been in those winds here in coastal SC for weeks and it's been difficult. I'd say another winner for Umarex and thanks for the great review.
Very good video Haj. As soon as I saw the release of the G2, I came right to your channel. Good shooting and phenomenal groups. I know there is more room in that gun so I look forward to what you do with it.................
Thanks. Yeah the G2 will not hit the streets until August so it will be awhile before I roll out any additional unnecessarily teasing performance enhancements but there will be big things coming. I appreciate your support Ced, thank you
I have been watching so many UA-cam videos as I am new to airguns. THIS IS HOW TO DO A REVIEW!!! The "as delivered" real-world testing should be a standard part of every review. Thanks so much and subbed.
The chronograph had no negative effect on grouping as was demonstrated in the video. I did not notice any noticeable group size changes when operating the G2 without the chrono on the barrel. I am certain that it changes the harmonics but whether it improved or worsened is unknown.
Great reveiw and shooting Haj! Trying to decide if I want to order the .22 or the .25 - Already have the G1 in .22 and love it for a blind gun and pesting out to 100 yards - Do I need to order an aluminum air stripper for the G2? Trigger adjustment, air vent, aluminum stripper is all I've changed on my G1 and she shoots like a dream. Hoping the same with the G2 - But .22 or .25? Decisions!
The G2 in .22 seen huge gains in performance but is still hampered by bore size and twist rate limitations to effectively fly slug well. The .25 caliber on the other hand is a higher performer with either projectile style. So if you are looking for a solid medium game slayer with 100+ yards kinetic energy, the .25 with slugs is it.
Great review Mr Hajimoto and your honest opinion about the new Gauntlet, I have the 177 caliber and shoot very accurate without any mods!!! I was thinking to get me a Diana outlaw in 22 but watching your video I change my mind and I will go for the gauntlet 22 Umarex will be making big money after all the airgunners will be going for the gauntlet 2, thanks for your review!!! Keep up the good work Mr Hajimoto!
hello, nice video as always ! Just curious, but I noticed you had your FX crono on the barrel ? Doesn't that mess with your harmonics and POI ? Would removing that from your barrel actually make your groups better ? Thanks in advance !
The thing about harmonics is they are either enhanced or eliminated and I will say the G2's accuracy was not negatively affected in either configuration.
@@HajimotoProductions I have the original gauntlet .22. Never upgraded it because I was pretty confused and uncertain about all of it. This as is is perfect for a guy like me.
@@jimeronimo that is why I offered the G1 completely tuned and ready to go. If a user didn't want to mess with a high pressure system they could convert the time to dollars and I'd hand a completed product.
@@HajimotoProductions yo Haji.. got my notice.. just pre-ordered mine.. can't wait.. is there a reasonably priced scope that has both regular and night vision? Mil dot, etc to go look here at? Btw where are you at brother?
Haji, this is one of your best reviews hands down. That looks like SubMOA groups at 100 yards to me. You make me wanna go get a Guantlet 2 dispute the lack of a side leveler. I noticed you doing the thumb grab to assist the bolt action. Not sure why they didn't didn't go that extra inch to add the side leveler. Either way nice improvements, great shooting and entertaining review. Bravo
Thank you for the kind words my friend. I agree with you Steven when it comes to the side lever action but like all things in manufacturing, it would add cost. I think paying homage to the conventional bolt action rifle is awesome. I also think that if center fire rifles required the same amount of hammer energy, they too would be bears to operate. I use the thumb to stop axial torsion which causes unnecessary binding and friction to the cocking effort. As long as the thumb technique is used, the cocking effort is not that bad. If like trying to force a manual transmission without the clutch. Unless you get the synchro's to beg for the next gear, you need to use the clutch. I see the cocking of the Gauntlet as no different, proper technique eliminates unsatisfactory results.
Funny you should mention a manual transmission. I used to have a Volkswagen Fox with manual transmission. I got to know the car so well that I used to change gears without the clutch and I never grind the teeth. I learned that if you maxed out the RPM and just as the RPM started to drop I could change the gear and it would engage smoothly. Of course 3rd and 4th gears were much easier than first and second gears as the gear ratios loosen up.
I'm really liking the new look and the fact it comes stock with what was aftermarket in the first gen. can't wait to see what you come up with as far as mods thanks for the info
@@HajimotoProductions I have a question, I've been scouring images on the internet and can't find a single one with a rear shot....is there a way to get to the hammer spring for added or reduced tension?
Great review. I'm 58 and have been shooting my vintage Benjamin since I got it new from Wards. Now I've decided to go PCP. After watching your review I think I found my new air rifle. Would you pick this one over the Air Venturi wood model for the same price?
Amazing review sir, I'm a new subscriber, but figure I picked the right time to find your channel, this Gauntlet 2 in point two two looks to be my next have to as opposed to a want to. Thank you very much for doing this, and giving a good starting point for the pellet search.

@@HajimotoProductions many people mentioned Hajimoto on forums finally came across your video. Lol. Im in Canada. Unfortunate the gauntlet is too heavy for a hunting rifle.

Fantastic Haji and hats off to the U guys. Mine is the original and Baught one of the first. Had a bad pellet jam and sent it in for service. They didn't just fix it, they sent me a whole new rifle (this was a couple years later) and the new barrel shot so much better too WOW was I impressed at their service. And now I see this. I just lost my need for the $1500.00 rifle I've always dreamed of. (Sorry Ted). And thank you Haji!!!☺
I never had a poi shift. I have the original 177cal. Its as accurate as my $1,000 + dollar guns. Free floating barrels are accurate. I don't baby the rifle. But I am not using it to pry open doors either. In my opinion the barrel band was overrated.
Were you using the standard magazine or is that a high capacity magazine for the gauntlet 2 Also when listening to it how much quieter does it sound to the ear versus the decimal meter does it actually sound more quiet and if so if you were to guess a number what would you guess and could you also test with the decimal meter at I don't know 25 yards so there's an idea of how silent it would be when hunting in the field
Great eye Frank, that is the expanded magazine in the video, 17 shots between fills is really nice. I think the rifle has a certain tone that you can clearly hear in the video. Almost center fire-like or a movie sound effect of a sniper rifle. I will definitely be installing a DonnyFL Sumo off the end to make the PCP mouse fart quiet that's for sure.
So I’ve ruled out a FX because of all the additional costs of compressor, optic, etc. But I’m interested in this and the Marauder. Between the two, would you lean towards this rifle?
With the 4,500 psi tank I believe you are still going to need a tank or compressor. Unfortunately the larger tank eliminates the use of a hand pump. I suppose it could be done, but I don’t think it would be worth the effort.
Nice presentation and shooting. You sold me, I ordered one right after watching on Airgun 101. Been waiting for monster redesigns for over a month, finally got fed up, cancelled then re-ordered 34gr beasts. I have a boat load of hades and kings in 15.89 gr, any experience or data shooting those? Is the hammer spring adjustable? I am guessing the lighter pellets mentioned will be loud as hell but maybe I can tame it with the Emperor + adapter. Appreciate your work btw, great video and no BS approach. Would adapter for the shroud be the same as Gauntlet !? Will get what I need as I am guessing it will be closer to mid,August before it shows up at the door. UTG puts out an MLock bipod that is great because each leg mounts independent of the other and on the sides which gives a nice wide stance. Had one on my Armada and it was rock solid. You probably already knew about that though. Thanks pard for your work.
Hey there Bret! Thanks for the view and comments. I will be sharing more in future videos as it related to detailed sizes and changes between the G1 and the G2, hang in there 😉
Hajimoto San, I saw a review where they discussed the breech not being properly reamed, the transfer bolt hole protruding into the rifling, and the rifling running so far back that the pellets were jammed into it when the bolt pressed them into the breech, and this was affecting accuracy. Are these some of the issues you correct when you do a 'tune-up'? Thanks for the review.
Hajimoto...I sure wish you could do a review sometime on the Umarex Compressor... @ 4500psi.. for the G2... we gotta have a way to pump that bad boy up... besides a handpump.
I purchased a Nomad 2 just for this type of thing. I noticed that the fill pressure is starting to exceed to 300bar in many rifles. So now a 4500psi bottle won't go as far. But a 4500psi portable compressor will work in the field off my car battery. The air never runs out!
@@timmy4539 Saw this too. Purchased the AV Nomad 2. Iam even keeping a journal on everything about it. I record every fill. Every min. of use and all maintenance. It has excellent reviews. We shall see.
Right out of the box the G2 is a very powerful and capable shooter. The version that I sell is for the user that wants to be able to adjust the power from light to heavy to support different use roles. Allows the use of lighter ammo to be used without over driving the rate of travel. Plus you increase your shot count per fill huge with the lower power setting that my version affords you.
That's an excellent question. The AV is more adjustable for the average person. Its light for a hunting rifle. But it's louder. The 2nd gen Gauntlet is powerful. Has a large bottle. Fills to 4500psi and is quite. It will have more shots per fill as well. But it weighs more. If I could get only one. It would come down to what I wanted it for. The Avenger can be adjusted down to shoot light pellets. This is advantageous in back yards, or where overpenetration can be a concern. You will however need a Donny FL and adapter. You can crank up power but shot count will greatly reduce. The Gauntlet 2 is powerful. Unless you can tune it yourself? It will remain powerful. Its made for 25gr and up pellets. If you want power and shot count. The Gauntlet 2 is your rifle. Either choice is good. 🎯
Hey Hajimoto, I recently picked up a "reconditioned " Gauntlet II. And yes, I had an issue. Where the regulator installs into the pressure tube there was a leak. I disassembled the rifle and found machining marks in the tube. This was allowing air to leak by the o-rings. So I polished the inside of the tube and it cured this. It also eliminated the burs of the screw holes. So after watching a few videos, I decided to disassemble the bolt end. I used 1000 and 1200 grip paper and polished everything. Any moving part, including the bolt. It cocks much smoother now and I feel all of the parts involved in the firing pin area must be smoother. They all slid in and out so much better when I was done. And using high grit paper, I can't see it fouling any tolerances. What do you think? Thanks for the great videos.
As long as one only polishes surfaces which equates to minimal material removal there should not be any introduced mechanical slop that will hinder functionality. But the parts themselves if already out of tolerance are polished they will continue to be an issue, obviously.
this is the first video I've seen on this Gauntlet 2 I'm impressed at just out of the box performance! Now if I understand what Hajimoto can and will do the next video should scare FX with a not only pellets but slug driving performance out of a gun that's 1/4 the price. I really do like the new look of this gun slimed down better colors, better way to lock down the scope, a much better way to bolt things to the bottom, I can see this being a real pest control tool to have, and I can't wait for the next video Please!
Hey Darrell! Thanks for the kind words. I certainly do have some things up my sleeve as it relates to the G2 but I doubt FX has anything to worry about 😂 The rifle is like an unbroken bronco, it just needs to have that energy bridled a bit and that is coming I promise you.
All three have great features and are an awesome value but the one that offers the most tuning flexibility for shooting in a wide variety of shooting scenarios is the Air Venturi Avenger.
Does the barrel seem to hold poi better than the 1st edition? Even with a band, it is a problem hunting with my 177. Same crappy safety, guess i can live with that....same trigger that can be made useable , but not great....and no 177 option. The 25cal might get me out to 150 yards though and push slugs.
My experience with that new forestock shroud tunnel has been awesome. It really does a great job of limiting how far the barrel shroud can be moved around.
Hey there, I know they have a great following and they appear to be awesome quality products but to date I have never tried them out. I use and offer expanded magazines by A.E.Swede which are machines from solid Delrin with a polycarbonate lid.
@@HajimotoProductions Yeah i've heard a lot of praise and saw a video from STKO that showed how marauder magazines mangle pellets and give you fliers, but more specifically, how the pellet slams into the probe tip when you retract/reload. supposably the carm magazines "alleviate" that but i can't imagine how, something has to index on the magazine. and if it's not the pellet stopping the magazine from rotating, what is?
I have been thinking about selling my gamo magnum and ordering the gauntlet 2. Good idea ? The gamo is like lifting 500 lbs to shoot 10 rounds. After 20 rounds Im movin pretty slow. The gauntlet 2 would be more fun to shoot with far less effort at 67.
While shot count is very important, what you are shooting at or for is equally important. The G2 is a powerhouse and for plinking it can be a bit much unless your plinking at 100 yards. What is your fill method, are you using a hand pump?
So many questions, so little time. Let's talk .25 caliber! I see the stat page lists it at 985 FPS with 2100 on the reg, stock. The rifle you re-built for me was tuned for power using the JSB 25.39 grain @ 883 FPS with 2100 on the reg. That is a difference of 46 FPS, which doesn't sound like much at first, but when you are shooting in wind like you did in your vid and I did in mine (both @ 100 yds) it makes a difference. That's about 50 FPE with the 25.39 grain JSB pellets. With all that being said, when the .25 cal version is available, what do you think you will be able to squeeze out of it for increased accuracy further down range? If anything lol, it appears they stole the work up specs or you contributed them. With that kind of power small game can be taken well out past 100 yards and medium game at 75 with ethical shots. Perfect for my type of topography. Screw a Donny on it, pop on the M Lok bi-pod and dial the red dot in at 100, done. I really want to see the groups at 150 and 200!! Great video and introduction for real gauntlet fans and all air rifle buyers! Umarex, send this man a check! #senditvibes #AZgrouptherapy My 100 yard groups in high winds with a Hajimotoproductions.com rebuilt Gauntlet in .25 caliber. ua-cam.com/video/P2QNe4EqX2o/v-deo.html
Add a 0.005 spacer to your regulator and you will experience more precision at longer range because of the more wind bucking you gain at the loss of a miniscule short range precision. Accuracy involves the shooters ability at all ranges.
I really enjoyed your video I Do have a request I’m interested in purchasing the gauntlet 2 in .25cal I’m wondering if you could make the same video in .25 I’m on the fence I’ve seen a lot of .22 but not that much on .25 since you did such a great job on the .22 thanks again also in the silver package what parts are buffed out
Thanks for all the Gauntlet videos. I think I've watched all your videos on the Gauntlet subject. I'm new to the Air Rifle world. I have been looking at the Gen 1 but now I think the Gen 2 is the ticket. But the only problem I have is no one in my area fills bottles to 4500 PSI. They only fill to 3000 PSI. Is this a problem that would make the Gen 2 not work properly? I would appreciate any thought on this you might have. Thank you.
Thanks for the views and comments! As fill pressure, it is important to remember operating pressure and maximum fill pressure and what each means to an airgunner. Operating press of these Gauntlet2 airguns (1900PSI for .22 and 2100PSI for the .25) , means as long as the tank has more than the operating pressure in it the airgun will operate, the difference is the amount air volume in the tank (fill pressure). Obviously a 26ci bottle filled to 4500PSI will allow a 1900PSI operating Gauntlet to produce many many shots compared to a 26ci bottle filled to 3000PSI. Let just say that each pull of the trigger of the .25 reduces the bottle pressure by 104psi per shot, a 4500PSI fill will produce 24 shots were the 3000PSI fill only deliver 9 shots before falling off the regulator.
Mr. Hajimoto, I am not a Gauntlet owner, but like the another commenter, I would be at the cash register, or my computer, pressing the send button along with my money for the side cocking lever version. This is not to say that I am not impressed with how well the gun was shooting. You didn't even have to call it by mistake a .25. To get down range and line up like that, and to be a .22 cal...yeah, blown away! Thank you,
Oh I agree 100%, If it were up to me, there would be a side lever cocking mechanism on the G2, Trust me. Let me say this, while it did come stock with a side lever cocking mechanism doesn't it can't have one, If you get where I'm going. I will share more once I have more to share.
I have PCPs over $1,000 dollars. But my first one was a 177 Gauntlet. I'll never sell it. Get over 120 shots with my 360cc bottle. Reliable and deadly accurate. I actually love these less expensive rifles. I can buy this rifle cheaper than I can change calibers in the FX. And if I scratch it. I don't worry about it.
Is there a disassembly video coming for this rifle? Let me explain. I recently got a brand new guantlet 2 .30. I got it from the retailer because he got it for repair but for umarex in the Netherlands it's more easy to just give the customer a new one. So I got the broken one. The problem with this rifle is that after one shot the tank loses al of it's air. My guess is that the valve does not return and is left open. But there are no disassembly video's on the guantlet 2. If you can help me out or if you know where to find a disassembly guide please let me know. Love you channel and thank you for this review video.
Hey Haji, what barrel does it have and where is it made? 28.5" long, right? Is it choked and how many groves does it have? BTW, will the .25 shoot slugs accurately? Thanks buddy
These are exciting times for PCP rifles, just look back last 8 months and you have fully adjustable $300 rifles that shoot all ammo types. Used to be ok to shoot at 25 and pushing out to 50 yards was a standard , now shooting out to 100 yards is the norm. the G2 bringing big power at entry level prices. What's going to happen in the next 12 months.
I could not agree more with your comments. Things are improving at a ridiculous rate which is very similar to the advances in paintball but that was like 10 years ago so we have a lot of ground still cover.
Haji, if I put a standard 3,000 PSI bottle (with reg set at 1,100 PSI) from a UG1 on the UG2 for some backyard plinking, will the gun function properly?
It will work but because the hammer spring that is currently installed in the stock G2 is designed to throw the hammer against a valve that has 1900PSI for the .22 caliber and 2100PSI for the .25, it will over dwell the valve and waste tons of air. But it would function.
I have one pre-ordered waiting on the next batch could you recommend a quality scope that won't break the bank like if there's anything that cost about half the gun LOL that'll get the job done I'm not a pro shooter I'm just getting into it for the fun of it and maybe kill some wild boars when I go down south I need something this deadly accurate but very affordable preferably under the hundred and $79 range of possible if not then what you would suggest as a budget blaster for now
@@HajimotoProductions Thanks for your replay, sorry, I am amace with the presicion of the rifle, other two questions, which camara you have infront of the rifle and which optics are you using on the rifle?
Worth every penny. The carbon fiber version is a bit pricy but if you want light, its the way to go. I am very happy with the Death Grip I will do a review soon.
That 100 yard target! The wind ribbon was nearly 100% horizontal at times! Great shooting Hajimoto Pro!

@@HajimotoProductions hi would you be able to get in touch with me? I have a pellet I was curious if you would be interested in testing it should be a 24-grain 22 magnum pellet. I'm curious how it would do in The gauntlet 2
@@frank2043 I have received your text message and will follow up soon.
@@HajimotoProductions I don’t know much about barrel tech, but isn’t the power generation largely determined by the air pressure and or the regulator?
@@ralphperrier The operating pressure is only one of the variables responsible for power generation. Valve design, air pathway efficiency, plenum volume and consistency are all part of that equation as well.
You are right on!!! My 100 yard shots are unbelievable! It’s hard to believe!! The gauntlet 2 , after 3 pcps, is the gun for me- had mine a year and I am 5k rounds in!!! Thanks Haji
Thank you for the kind words as well as sharing your experiences with the G2.
This video is what i call: very cool and excellent information . Good job Mr. Hajimoto.
Thanks for the kind words Fabio.
Amazing. I was just entering the world of PCP and I was about to order a Gauntlet and just the day I was going to order it, I saw this video and I am not lying when I say that I get excited like a child
Such a good time to get into air gunning.
Hey Michael, I agree 100% this ole boy knocked it out of the park! There will be plenty of Hajimoto G2 food coming as well 😉
Forearm area looks great; the rear of the stock looks cheap.
Do hotcakes actually sell extremely well though?
I think the advancements in airgun today can easily handle 50 yards and isn't really a challenge, I agree.
Look
My gauntlet .25 is cheating at 25&50yds lol the first time I took it out and got it sighted in I couldn't believe for smaller calibers I've only ever ran break barrels I have big bore air rifles but the gauntlet is my first precharged .25 and it's amazing
Wow, blown away. Great improvements. Thanks for another great video Haj!

I finally managed to make the move to PCPs earlier this year when I bought a Gauntlet. Now I have to start saving up again cuz this review just helped me decide what my 2nd PCP is going to be, lol. Really enjoy your reviews.

The PCPs keep getting improved quickly. This new stock shape allows the big tank to look right. Maybe it required too much changing to make the cocking to side lever, but that would have been super. Very good review too, Hajimoto,
showing your being so impressed. Thanks for showing.
Agreed, the Hammer genetics at work here.
Shamefully the cocking its pretty hard.. dunno wether it will get loose by using it more often.. Does it help Dr Haji?
They done a very good job at upgrading the gauntlet , I can’t wait to see what it will do with the same upgrade in 25 cal. I have the original 25 gauntlet and it shoots very good.
I think you be like what you see the .25 offers as well. Video to come.
Just purchased the Gauntlet 2 from a friend and I am amazed by it’s accuracy!
Have fun with it.
If Umarex is reading this, can we get a side cocking lever on the next iteration please.
Oh they are reading this and do not think for one second that side lever cocking was not discussed. Its just a matter of retooling, additional manufacturing time and ultimately cost.
@@HajimotoProductions I predict next we will see a "Gauntlet-pup" with side-lever loading and a small 4500psi CF bottle!!!!!

I enjoyed your coverage of the Gauntlet 2
We are very happy that the video provided you with some usable information. Thanks for stopping by! Shoot safe!
Does a chrono hanging off the barrel effect accuracy?
Awesome as always!! Great video brother!!
Thank you as always for the support my man!
Great review Mr Hajimoto and your honest opinion about the new Gauntlet, I have the 177 caliber and shoot very accurate without any mods!!!

Thank you for the view and comment Raul. If you get the .22 just be sure of your back stop because it make big power.
hello, nice video as always !

Awsome video!! Was on the fence what to buy...... GAUNTLET 2 All the way BABY!!!
Glad I could help

Awesome gun and review! I’m guessing with the barrel band and forearm that there are 0 issues with the poi changing from day to day.
I never had a poi shift. I have the original 177cal. Its as accurate as my $1,000 + dollar guns.
Free floating barrels are accurate.
I don't baby the rifle. But I am not using it to pry open doors either.
In my opinion the barrel band was overrated.
I experienced no point of impact changes.
Were you using the standard magazine or is that a high capacity magazine for the gauntlet 2
Also when listening to it how much quieter does it sound to the ear versus the decimal meter does it actually sound more quiet and if so if you were to guess a number what would you guess and could you also test with the decimal meter at I don't know 25 yards so there's an idea of how silent it would be when hunting in the field
Best vid on the Gauntlet 2 outstanding info good and accurate!💯🇺🇸💪👍🔥
I appreciate that!
Awesome. I will patiently wait for either a slug video, or a sound explanation as to why they weren't tried 😎

Dont forget, you dont have to fill the tank to 4500, you can stop at 3000 or 3200 just like back in the G1 days, right?
WOW when are they going to be available?
June/July 2021, Hopefully!

I want to review the compressor not that it has went through a few changes. I think I will
Thats an extremely impressive 100 yrd shooter. You found the right projectile for sure. Great shooting bud. Excellent work.
It did very well for sure. Thanks for stopping by homie
So do you think i would need to buy the upgraded version that you offer I plan to do some neighborhood pest control.
The stock looks great! Gauntlet 2 or AV Avenger is the question.
Great question! They are both very good PCP's but the Avenger would edge out the stock G2 for two main reasons:
Adjustability
Side Level Cocking
I certainly do have some things up my sleeve as it relates to the G2 but I doubt FX has anything to worry about 😂
The rifle is like an unbroken bronco, it just needs to have that energy bridled a bit and that is coming I promise you.
@@HajimotoProductions thank you for getting back to me and I've seen what you can do so I know it's something good.
What do you recommend for a first pcp rifle?Gauntlet 2,
Air venture avenger
Benjamin marauder
Thank you
All three have great features and are an awesome value but the one that offers the most tuning flexibility for shooting in a wide variety of shooting scenarios is the Air Venturi Avenger.
Awesome review H. Love the new Gauntlet. I have Gauntlet #1 on order. Is there a supplier of the 22ci bottle in Australia? Thanks.
Thanks for the view and comment Brad. Have you checked the AU Ebay?
I've checked everywhere and came up empty unfortunately.
@Hajimoto Productions
do you bother with CARM magazines or do you just modify the OEM with your techniques as described in one of your videos?

My 100 yard groups in high winds with a Hajimotoproductions.com rebuilt Gauntlet in .25 caliber.

Add a 0.005 spacer to your regulator and you will experience more precision at longer range because of the more wind bucking you gain at the loss of a miniscule short range precision. Accuracy involves the shooters ability at all ranges.
I really enjoyed your video I
Do have a request I’m interested in purchasing the gauntlet 2 in .25cal I’m wondering if you could make the same video in .25 I’m on the fence I’ve seen a lot of .22 but not that much on .25 since you did such a great job on the .22 thanks again also in the silver package what parts are buffed out
Thanks for all the Gauntlet videos.
Very grateful to have found this comprehensive review, many thanks for posting, 👍 subscribed!
Mr. Hajimoto, I am not a
Gauntlet owner, but like the another commenter, I would be at the cash register, or my computer, pressing the send button along with my money for the side cocking lever version.
Wish i would have got this one 2 years ago ! But i moved on to FX and hw .
Either way you air gunning and hopefully having fun!
Things are improving at a ridiculous rate which is very similar to the advances in paintball but that was like 10 years ago so we have a lot of ground still cover.
great video haji, are you gonna do a haji version of this one too?
Oh yeah, I will be doing lots of improvements on this ole boy, trust me.
@@HajimotoProductions fine i'll wait for the Haji edition...this video made me decide to skip the Gauntlet 1...
Looking forward to the Haji mods. You did amazing things with the G1. Can’t wait to see what you do with the G2!
I have one pre-ordered waiting on the next batch could you recommend a quality scope that won't break the bank like if there's anything that cost about half the gun LOL that'll get the job done I'm not a pro shooter I'm just getting into it for the fun of it and maybe kill some wild boars when I go down south I need something this deadly accurate but very affordable preferably under the hundred and $79 range of possible if not then what you would suggest as a budget blaster for now
Go over to see my man Charlie at AirgunOpticsPlus.com, you will find what you need from a very worthy guy.
WOW, This will be my next rifle, one question, which chronographs are you using?
Thank you for the view and comment. I am using the FX Pocket Chronograph radar unit.
@@HajimotoProductions Thanks for your replay, sorry, I am amace with the presicion of the rifle, other two questions, which camara you have infront of the rifle and which optics are you using on the rifle?
What do you think of the Death grip tri pod? Good piece of kit or not worth the asking price?
Worth every penny. The carbon fiber version is a bit pricy but if you want light, its the way to go. I am very happy with the Death Grip I will do a review soon.
As usual great video review and Damn good shooting Haji!
Thank you so much for the support Robert.
@@HajimotoProductions you going to the Big Game Hunt in West Virginia (my neck of the woods) this weekend?
