Excellent! I much appreciate your showing this stuff. Your descriptions & the show-and-tell make the radio much easier to understand and use. The Elecraft manual, well, let's be real: If I were still getting paid to do it, I'd rewrite the damn manual. Thanks for the run thru! 73 de W8IJN
I have a KX2 but don't have a KH1 (yet -- maybe!). I read through the KH1 manual just yesterday (I can dream, right?). This was an excellent, detailed, and carefully done presentation, with cautions noted as appropriate. Outstanding job!!!
Yeah! No kidding. The EleCraft manual is seriously bad. I recommend that this be put into a text/book with appropriate photos or drawings. I was (and may yet still be) on the verge of sending it back for a refund. That or sell it to someone who thinks it's the best radio in the universe. Planned on taking it to Europe this autumn. I'll take the X5105 instead. 73 de W8IJN
Yes Finally a great video on the KH1. Thousand thanks. This is standard by which all instructional videos should be made. Indexing, great videography and audio. Great methodical instruction. The best! If you could do a series on the KX2, I would be all set. Keep them coming. Greatly appreciated.
@@houseofhamradio If you do a series on the KX2, it would be nice to include a section on how to use the programming software. Maybe a section on settings for SSB, digital and CW.
I found this video extremely helpful. I would also greatly appreciate you doing a deeper dive on how to adjust and fine tune the factory settings as sometimes these settings are accidentally moved.
Thanks Daren, That really depends on which factory settings you are referring to. Some require special equipment to properly adjust. All of the "Danger Zone" settings require the user to unlock them so they shouldn't be accidentally changed. That being said, if there is something in particular you would like to see, I will look into it. 73 Bob
Thanks! Great video. Mine should be here in the next 2-3 weeks. Have been reading the manual on and off since I ordered in January, but it is very helpful to see it in action.
Well done. Professional in every way. I would suggest an advanced chapter. This should include how to customize the optional display items in a step by step manner. Perhaps an on the air example of turning the RIT on and off in real time as well. Overall, and excellent job. 73 VE6GK SN 219
I can do that. Just to set expectations, Not really a panadapter. It scans through a series of frequencies and shows a relative signal strength at the time it scanned. Not particularly useful in my opinion.
@@houseofhamradio Today, I finally received my KH1 ordered on Jan 1, 2024.. One of the first functions I tried was the panadapter. I agree that it's not too useful -- to put it mildly. Otherwise, I'm impressed.
Anyone know if the the spot function volume can be adjusted? It blows my ears out and I can’t hear the received signal to zero beat. Can’t find anything in the manual. Thanks. AC9MG
@@houseofhamradio Thanks Bob. I figured it out, very simple actually. As soon as you engage the spot tone, the left AF knob lets you to adjusts the volume. Anyway still working my way around the controls of the rig. BTW, still working on my CW since are CWI classes from last summer and having fun.
Excellent, would have found even more helpful ten days back when my KH1 arrived. A Link from.the Elecraft site would be no harm though I imagine there are reasons for not doing so. Thank you. 73 EI2CN
I would have liked to have had this out much sooner but life gets in the way. Working with Wayne to get this linked on the Elecraft site so hopefully soon.

I chunk of cash to plunk down but I love mine.
Very nice job. Many thanks for the obvious time and care put into production!
I appreciate the feedback.
This is indeed the "missing manual"....er I mean the "missing video manual". Professional, succinct and excellent video. Tnx Bob
Thank you for your kind words. My pleasure to do this and give back to the community.

Thanks for the kind words. I do have a KX2 and was planning a similar type of video for that... More to follow.

Great job on going through the KH-1 functions - very complete.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!

Glad it helped! It will be worth the wait.
Very good job and perfect timing for me, thanks.
Of course I planned it that way! 😀

Thanks Rick. I will look at doing both of those in the future.

Suggestion for a video: deep dive into some features like using the mini pan function while operating
Got that on the list of things to do. Thanks.
Outstanding!
Thanks!

I don't know if you can change only the spot volume. I think it is tied to the sidetone volume but not certain of that.

You didn't cover the long press SPOT function
I did miss that one. Thanks.
