  • EP 093: What an order flow fanatic adapted from one of the “big boys” - Ben, @BLB_Capital
    What you’re about to hear is a conversation I had with a short-term futures trader, Ben-whose last name we won’t mention only for privacy reasons, but he goes by @BLB_Capital on Twitter.
    Before entering the market, Ben previously ran a construction company until an injury put him out of action for a period of time, which is when a friend got him interested in trading. Developing his craft over recent years, the bulk of Ben’s trading now revolves around order flow and he’s most active in Oil, Gold and ES.
    Over the next 50-mins or so we discuss; what Ben learned and emulated from a large bond trader he was trained by, insight to his core trading strategies, how he utilizes automation, why traders should be aware of “right-to-left syndrome” and more.

    He said something that is the pure reality of this business. Many " successful Trades " promising to sell you a fake product. I see it the same way Ben does. If you are a good trader why would you want to charge to teach? anyways great interview Aaron !

    Good interview! Nice and honest. This is about the 4th or 5th episode I have watched now, and I really enjoy the fact that these interviewees aren't exactly used to being interviewed, I am sure for some of them it may be their first ever official interview, so the raw answers they give are very digestible. I feel like in this episode it would have been useful to establish the going "vocabulary" of the day in case he was simply using different terms for common things.

    I totally agree about those people who sells the holy grail and trade rooms etc. I stumbled into a trading room from when I started and spotted scams... unfortunately, I realized after I lost a large chunk following the moderator thinking he and his people were gods. You can make so much money when you are disciplined and understand what you are trading, accept when you are wrong and deal with it. Those guys wouldn't talk to you if they made money as they claimed -- at least not for money. I have respect to those guys who are put back to the trading community, instead of trying to charge whatever they are charging.

      so what options there are for guys with small accounts? those commissions will eat you alive.
      for example I trade stocks now paying 0.0027 per share only, which is great.

    • @bigurbman
      @bigurbman 5 років тому +1

      Order flow in Futures is cheaper to access, and is fully transparent. In stocks it is expensive and a good percentage of transactions are in the dark pool... Which you can see... But not until the next day

    • @hibuddywuzsup571
      @hibuddywuzsup571 2 роки тому

      Because in futures, it's actually in the moment flow of things that people need. With stocks it's too much behind the scenes backdoor Tomfoolery that causes delayed information. By the time you even catch on to what's going on, it's too late and only the big wigs up top with a crap ton of money were in the know.

  • @lancepheng
