The icamper is awesome. My favorite feature is the attached ladder. And for the key. I will just put it on a storage magnet and leave it by the tent. And I have also discovered where I'm going to mount my rod and reels. Hope y'all make an attachable tackle box 👍
Good idea Mitchell! I like the idea of a hide a key or something around that area and the Steel Overland Ruff Rax Rack has a ton of nooks and crannies to hide it.
You guys literally thought of just about everything. A ride like this one would make Jeep Jamborees the easiest and smoothest weekends ever. The TTT is awesome and definitely the icing on the cake. Whoever wins this truck is beyond lucky.
@@Forged4x4 That would be a dream man no doubt haha and for sure. You guys just keep the creativity coming I enjoy the content. Definitely a fan and looking forward to new exciting projects.
Have you done any axles upgrades on you rig? I use iKamper 2.0 full size for couple years now, great RTT. If anyone curiuos biggest upgrade for 3.0 is ability to keep the bedding inside. It is huge. Such a pain in 2.0 to deal with that. Two others are pull up side curtains and a bag for rods. Very convenient. Might be small improvements but when you camp days and days in a season it adds up quickly.
A lot of people have put the peel and stick carpet on the base inside of the RTT. Prevents condensation, adds a little warmth, sound deadening, and prevents all that movement. The only concern for many RTT's is the weather. Mold can happen within 24 hours if it's raining and there is no way to dry it out. I've also noticed if you are in the snow, the RTT can freeze, and trying to put it back is impossible, also the insulation they make takes away so much internal space and you cant close the RTT with it inside. You would think for the price and a new update they would have figured all these things out. Also with your shoes, once you get inside, use a baking sheet to keep them off your bedding. The major concerns would be going for a piss at night sober or drunk. The RTT is awesome but it requires a different thought process than ground camping. How tall are you?
Appreciate the awesome feedback! It's definitely a different process from ground camping but we didn't have any issues with the insulation/cold (albeit it didn't even get into the 30's); also at 6'3 it really wasn't bad in terms of height! 🙌
The Kronos and that new new ikamper 3.0 mini would see slopes of Hawaii. What a beast! Can’t wait to see and hear the Magnaflo Exhaust in the next vid! 🤙🏽
if you like the two mattresses on top of one another, it'd make sense to cut a piece of plush wall-to-wall carpet to cover the bare surface...and now, you can stick half a dozen velcro patches to the bottom of that mattress, and it'll stick to that carpet.
RTT also usually makes you eligible to use RV camp sites, they keep you off the ground which if you’ve ever been in a tent in heavy rain you know sucks.
You pay for what you get. Nothing good is cheap and nothing is cheap is good. That is definitely a quality RTT. I agree with Mitchell. Definitely need a place to mount fishing poles. Can’t wait to try it out myself once I win this Jeep!!!!!
Can the rainfly be removed? Could one leave a thick sleeping bag in it? Can a solar panel be attached to it? Does it leak anywhere and are there any little sneaky areas where bugs can get in?
Yes the rainfly can be removed. Yes you can leave a thick sleeping bag and pillows in it. Yes you can put a solar panel on the roof, especially the super slim walkable ones. Yes, thing is super weather resistant. We didn't camp with it in the rain, but have heard it holds up extremely well. Especially when compared to ground tents.
I wonder just how much bedding you can store inside. do you have to just use the space behind the struts? is it just one down sleeping bag and a pillow or can you have bedding for two? or a thick bagger two people?
You have to worry about dynamic weight and static weight and having a roof rack that can handle the tent and the people inside. Also the RTT mounted above like his kills your MPG. Lots to think about, wind as well is a huge deal.
Hi thanks for the vid. IMO that mattress does not look comfy. That's clearly a brand new RTT so I'm curious what it's like after an extended period of use. You also didn't mention anything about condensation build up if any. It would be good to know how it performs in that regard also. I look forward to a real world review after it has been properly used extensively. Thanks for sharing
Im just going to say it - you are paying 30 bucks for a basic foam “egg carton” mattress. The thing sucks, anyone who even suggests its comfy is way to high that i want what they are on. Once you figure out actual comfort(exped mattress or other), some lighting and then packing it up quick- Its the best tent out there. I will say closing it “easy” is easy once you spend 3 hours one day messing with figuring out your specific bedding and needs. Its extremely frustrating if you dont plan ahead of time. For a tent for 4000 - theres more marketing at play with “comfort” and “room to keep bedding up there” than what’s actually possible. For reference in my old smittybuilt i had a 2 inch foam, 2 inch memory foam and a queen sized comforter up there and it closed up perfectly and quickly. Good luck getting anything other than a sleeping bag thats damn near flat in the ikamper. Its still an issue in the 3.0 and ikamper just sort of ignores people talking about it. I love the quality - but the first month with the ikamper I actually liked it far less than my 600 dollar smittybuilt.
Now that the new RTT is on, we're putting a Magnaflo Exhaust on this beast next!
Nice!!!! Can’t wait to hear how it makes the Jeep sound!!! I love magnaflow exhaust systems!!
Hook it up my dude!
L)
I own a Ikamper 3.0 and by far it’s the best .
Can you put this tent on a saloon car?
I love my iCamper mini too! Pure freedom-- my friends ask why I always keep it mounted-- it's so I can camp, travel, at a moments notice.
Right on!🤘
Man this thing is insane would be something else and every time I get time to sit down and watch it grow it just keeps getting better and better
🙌 Darn straight!
Cant wait to see the 4.0 icamper. Keep up the innovations and love in your work!
Getting mine installed tomorrow 🙌🏼
love this build all the way around
Great and informative video. We are just about to buy the regular 3.0 for my wife and 1 kid to travel around in Europe.
Thanks
Man this thing keeps getting better and better. I think if I win I'm gonna put some LED strips under Dat canopy. Luv this truck guys.

Just a dream come true. Freakin great job guys. Absolutely love it.

😎 Thanks so much for the awesome compliments, Dexter!! Hope you have an awesome time this year; maybe you'll end up even taking this with ya! 🤞

Its a lot of space for the size. Dig the rack you put on the roof that looks like a nice setup they work well together!

pee bottle...
Ozone machine will kill mold inside tent
Definitely my favorite part of this ikamper is the world map on the inside🙌🏻
💯 Definitely feels like you're going on a true adventure 😄
Great video 👍
Looks perfect for 1-2 people.
That tent looks excellent... My daughter and Son in Law would love borrowing this. They like to hike and cap out...
The Kronos and that new new ikamper 3.0 mini would see slopes of Hawaii. What a beast! Can’t wait to see and hear the Magnaflo Exhaust in the next vid! 🤙🏽
Oooh man... can we come? 😅
looks much more compact and sleek compared to the old, loving the upgrades
And still roomy enough to fit my big body in there 😂
Great info I think I’m sold. Coming from a CVT Mt. Hood clamshell.
I wouldn't worry too much about aerodynamics if I had a lifted Jeep Gladiator with a roof rack riding on big off-road tires.
Great video. Thanks!!

Love the build (hope to park that rig at my place) the iKamper is a great replacement.
Appreciate the compliment Zach! Best of luck in the draw my man and make sure to follow us for more updates! 🙌

Agreed. The quality on this iKamper is noticeably better. RE Fishing Poles.... We'll work on something :)
Sweet Tent
great job as always, Forged 4x4
😁 Thanks brotha!
I really appreciate your overland builds
This is the tent I want. How do I go about finding a bed rack that will work with the tent and keep it at or under roof line?
That would be awesome with the expedition 2 on 35.
Love the sky view. And the hard shell protection that keeps tent pretty steady in wind. Do you happen to know the wind capacity?
Been looking at the 3.0
Can the rainfly be removed?
Could one leave a thick sleeping bag in it?
Can a solar panel be attached to it?
Does it leak anywhere and are there any little sneaky areas where bugs can get in?

Yes, thing is super weather resistant. We didn't camp with it in the rain, but have heard it holds up extremely well. Especially when compared to ground tents.
I like propping myself up with up to half a dozen pillows, to read and stuff. would you be able to still close down the tent with those extra pillows?
absolutely; it has plenty of space in the back
I wonder just how much bedding you can store inside. do you have to just use the space behind the struts? is it just one down sleeping bag and a pillow or can you have bedding for two? or a thick bagger two people?
enough space for the latter...thicker bag, two people!
Be great is a solar panel could be mounted / fixed to the top of the shell.
Awesome!
IKamper is legit! And attaching it to the roof rails is fairly straightforward also.
Thought it would be really tedious but wasn't too bad at all!

The rack you use, do they have it for a short bed tacoma
I believe so! You can always ask for fitment options 💪
Ok,thanks, who makes it,
Am new to roof top tent and am getting a new Subaru Xv, is it ok to install this tent on the XV ? Shall I get the official cross bar installed first?
best to contact the manufacturer man for more info about fitment/installation.
Looks good…I can’t wait to use it…
It’ll be nice to have somewhere to crash after driving Kronos all day
That's the plan! 😎
does anyone know if it fits a 2018 porsche macan by any chance? asking for a friend
Definitely something to check on their website!
How tall is this guy I’m 6’5 240 looking at this for the same application
6'2, might be a bit snug
How tall are you? I'm 6'4 and wonder if I would fit
6'2 and fit comfortably; at 6'4 you'd still fit
I mean I'd camp more then once a month if I had a rig like this!
💯 Every weekend 😎

nice
Thanks Tara!
Do you have promo Code
Unfortunately no. iKamper doesn't really ever do any sales or promotions. I guess when you have a solid product, you don't need to.
You are paying hundreds of dollars for that view if you buy that tent
like
No. No it isn't worth the money. A $2,000 tent? Are you OUT OF YOUR MINDS? This tent is for people who have more dollars than sense.
It’s double that. 2k will get you a small tepui
