I'm gonna say this too. As a Piggy nerd, I agree with all of these points. I currently have a film series that follows the original story, but with a few twists. Now, every time I look back at my previous films, they're full of inconsistent plot holes with horrible fourth wall breaking jokes. Now, I have to accept to stick with the inconsistency for my later releases, and I'm trying my best to tie them together at the moment. :,)

From my perspective of a piggy fan, I'm so glad you went through the entire game before giving it a bad review, rather than just playing carnival once and calling piggy the worst game ever. I'm also glad you said its okay to like the game, because I once saw someone shame a piggy fan for liking the game.

I agree with alot of your points here but the underdeveloped characters are probably due to limitations, Minitoon limited himself to 12 chapters from the start of book 2 and while that does seem like alot at first it actually isn't when your trying to right a story, another problem is that the chapters are based of places which limits how chapters tell a story, Minitoon should've based the chapters of events not places but Minitoon still did an okay Job with the limitations that he put on himself, I hope intercity can really improve the story and give depth to it's characters

As an ancient piggy fan, I’m gonna write a rant of what I don’t like about book 2 stories. Book 1 story is trash, but I’ll give it a pass since piggy wasn’t meant to blow up and Minitoon isn’t a good writer and obviously made stuff up as he progressed.
Willow Wolf and Tigry: These characters have so much wasted potential it hurts. They’re the only characters with some type of depths and backstories. They’re not perfect but better than the other side character we have. Willow could have been a good vilain if her backstory and the plot was slightly different. She could have seen William infected which would give her a motive to get the cure. Chapter 3’s ending could have been an intercepted military signal announcing that a cure was being made at XX coordinates. We could have had them as either the main vilains or the vilains you face directly throughout the story. Tigry hating Willow could lead to some interesting results like him despising other TSP members or purposely sabotaging his group and manipulating the player for his own gain. But instead they made Tigry an antagonist and Willow some edgy stereotype « I’m not here to make friend » character . Not to mention Willow’s heel face turn felt really forced and out of characters and just made her seems like an hypocrite. She also did an 180 in terms of personality at the last chapter without any buildup beforehand.
TIO:I have so many problems with TIO. His character, his personality and motives are okay, although a bit generic but the problem is that TIO felt like an asspull to expand the plot. This could have easily been fixed if Minitoon made a update before book 2 to book 1 map to foreshadow TIO’s existance. The death of Doggy could have been used as an excuse for TIO to enter the player’s head. Instead all we got is an hallucinations in book 1 chapter 12 with no prior buildup. And the fact TIO was introduced so late just to add Tension to the climax felt so cheap. I would have no problem if TIO was introduced early during book 2 as a greater scoop vilain and would be responsible for problems and hallucinations, both subtly or not.
The Player:I have so many complains about the player as a character. Throughout the story he felt more as a plot device than an actual character. All we know is that we are a detective but thats about everything. We don’t know much about our motives for our actions (beside book 2 chapter 1 where we arrest Willows cuz she’s a criminal). The player should have had some backstory. It doesn’t have to be sad or depressing but just some depth since after all you’re the main character. The Player as a character honnestly felt very boring and inconsistent. He didn’t had any personality, we’re just a Mary sue without any depths that is overly kind. Nothing wrong with kind characters, but at least give them some flaws and treat them as a character. Also the fact that he is so inconsistent. Our character is portrayed as optimistic kind and all yet the first thing that comes to our mind when Bunny die is to take revenge on Mr.P without even trying to find what happened or using logic which is pretty contradicting for a character like the player.
The « emotional scenes »:Now I’m not the best to talk about this topic because I don’t really get attached to fiction characters and never cried at a movie before(im not flexing or anything just stating from experience). But the emotional scenes were weak and made no sense. It’s established Doggy and the players are close friends yet when doggy is killed the player kind of just get over it easily which makes no sense. But when Bunny is killed the player goes batshit insane and decide to look for Mr.P? And honnestly aside from that the characters in Piggy aren’t well established so the viewers can’t emotionally connect with them. Bunny was introduced super early, they weren’t devlopped or anything and died only 3 chapters later and the story expect you to be sad about it. Same about Zizzy, she wasn’t established very well, didn’t had much connection to the player. And the devs still expect us to cry over her death. The characters in the stories have reasons to do so considering they’ve been living for years but as the viewers we don’t. Pony’s death was also not that sad. The story establish that Pony was the player’s best friend yet we don’t see any dialogues confirming it throughout the game and the chemistry between both characters felt forced and not natural. Pony also didn’t had that much devloppement and was just viewed as a goofy and sometime clumsy character so again his death didn’t meant much to the viewer.
Lazy Worldbuilding: Piggy’s worldbuilding is kind of lazy lets face it. The Insolence is one of the best example of it. The story established it as a cult yet we don’t see how it works, when or how was it founded and the history of the cult. TSP also doesn’t have much lore. TSP is established as a decently big group since Willow say they have multiple outposts, yet not much is spoken about it. We don’t know if Willow is the only leader or just one of the leaders, why the group was founded and the history of the group.
Now for the Plothole: At the Chapter 2 ending, why doesn’t Willow also take the player and Pony away? It really doesn’t make sense. It’s established Willow hates the players and all cops and that just seeing the player angered her if the notes are right. So why didn’t she took us? She could have asked other members of TSP to escort you to a new outpost but she just leaves you and pony alone. This just comes across as plot armor. Not to mention Willow is decently smart since she managed to make a big group so it sounds so out of character for her. Willow switching side because Zizzy had sisters. This moment seems so forced not to mention in the bad ending she shoots you even though she heard Zee and probably saw her too? Willow’s personality doing a 180 backflip just because of one speech the player said. It wasn’t built up at all that Willow would forgive Tigry, especially after they fought so it again feels forced. And what is the AI for some of these maps? Why do a TSP prison has an infected? Where did the Piggy AI for chapter 4 came from? It could have easily been replaced as a TSP member chasing you. Since TSP is decently powerful, if Willow cared why didn’t she just summoned more TSP member to help her in our mission? Who is leading TSP while she’s gone. It’s established she cares about that mission because Zizzy has sisters but then she doesn’t even use her massive amount of resources? In chapter 12 book 2 she says she wanna travel the world with Tigry, which implies she doesn’t care about TSP animore which sounds so out of character. I know half of these can be explained by « It’s for gameplay purposes otherwise the game would end at chapter 2 ». But it doesn’t excuse lazy writing and minitoon could have addressed these issues.
I know that was a long ass rent but its every problems I had with the storyline. At least Book 1 can be excused by the fact it wasn’t planned. But Minitoon had so much time to prepare a storyline for book 2, if he truly cared he would have listened to some writing tips from like youtube videos and would have checked his plot to make sure it was plotholes proofs. I don’t even think the storyline was rushed, I think Minitoon was either lazy or didn’t/stopped caring about the lore.
Pony's death had no impact on the viewer not because he was silly or his friendship with player felt forced, yes, his relationship with the player can directly impact on the perspective of the viewer but their friendship could be toxic and the scene could still be depressing, but because a character's death isn't always about their relationship with the others, it's about themselves and how attached you can be to the character or why someone would be hurt by the loss and Pony had no development just like you said. The plot gave the character that was meant to be silly an important role in the story and then it didn't know what do with him, so they kinda just...¿Gave up on him? He never gets the spotlight he deserves even when he's supposed to.
I'm not kidding when i say he never got the spotlight, it is revealed that he lost his family and we never see that again until chapter 12 the last damn chapter. Hell, he was going insane thanks to TIO and Zizzy gets her own character-focused chapter revolving around the insolence but he doesn't??? Zizzy doesn't even have an important role or a personality at all man.
Sorry for the rant just wanted to get that off my chest since you mentioned it but yeah the """emotional""" scenes sucked. I don't care enough about the characters because the game just loooves giving all the attention to Willow and Player lol.

I agree tio was introduced too late. If he was introduced in chapter 8, i think it would’ve been good if he kept appearing a few times each chapter trying to get player to join him (I mean during gameplay, somehow. For story this would be good, not for gameplay 💀) This would make players more familiar with him, and make the player character hate him even more by chapter 12 which would’ve added to the satisfaction of beating the final battle.

Cover the CFC chapters, there’s more depth for many characters- including a Bunny one coming out soon! However, the story is quite rushed. These “CFC” chapters are basically Minitoon’s final attempt at giving characters depth. There’s a bit of an attempt of character building, however it’s not great. I would recommend you checking them out when the Bunny one is released and giving your thoughts!

As a Peruvian Piggy Loyal Fan, I must honestly admit that the lore on Book 1 and 2 has their own plot holes but I enjoyed of it although his mistakes, but Minitoon was trying to make a lore for the game, yeah and Im proud of him no matter how many mistakes has done since 2020 to 2021.
I think Minitoon should take his time and maybe work about a year to add more animations, redesigning maps, extend cutscenes, add more to the story, etc. Blame the fans, they made Minitoon rushed the damn game.
Well, piggy was made mostly entirely by minitoon. All these other fan games have had teams.

As a Piggy player, and modeller myself, I agree with somestuff. The video has a few issues where some parts are cut off like how Tigry and willow had a fight and why the pipes is fallen off to block our way, but other than that this video is great as a explanation and stuff, and holy shit thank god someone mentioned how piggy was a troll game before it blew up, everyone misses that now days.
Honestly, I would love to make some sort of Piggy Remake where the gameplay and story is more polished up, I think I can do it. I mean, I been in this community for years lmao.

You’re spitting fax ngl. I wholeheartedly agree with the side characters not getting much development, as I didn’t see myself ever getting attached to Bunny, Doggy, or even Zizzy before they became zombies. Especially in terms of one of the irl books, I felt a lot more attachment to one of the characters (no spoilers of course) due to the fact they were given more time, although short, to be fleshed out, and they were just a stand-in for Bunny!
Almost everyone in the community was so sad when zizzy and bunny died, guess they’re a bunch of simps. Or maybe it’s because doggy had 0 character development aside from alleys, but bunny had atleast 10.
There were limitations in the game,12 chapters might have not been enough to expand more on the characters story,But since there is a sequel called Intercity coming I think we might get more about it. I think you're a great reviewer,I honestly don't have a good relationship with review channels,But it's nice to see someone being fairly nice while also making good points. I do agree that book 1 was dull,It felt empty and there was nothing much about it besides searching for Mr P. There we're also no depths for the characters like Doggy,Bunny and other characters. But since many people like the game we might as well respect it. I think if MiniToon reacted to your video he would have been cool with it as he's open to criticisms, The story of Piggy is interesting, It's like combining two stories into one,One Is paranormal and the other is zombie apocalyptic. You should also probably check out intercity when it comes out, For now us Piggy fans got nothing to do as of now

I think 12 chapters are fine for Piggy, as Bendy managed to tell a full story in just five chapters. I think the main problem is just having super short cutscenes, I get that Minitoon wouldn't want to bore the players, but having roughly 3-4 minute cutscenes with both beginning and end cutscenes combined definitely isn't enough to tell a full narrative.
I've been a huge piggy fan for 3 years, I have everything in the game...
It hurts my heart to say this but really book 1 was stupid in every way if you really look deep into it, I wish MiniToon made couple lore differences in Book 1's story by addition of secret notes and cutscenes, during the development of Book 2

I mean technically, he did go back into Book 1 chapters and add some Insolence-related notes which did add to the build-up.
As an avid Piggy fan myself (seriously I have 100% completed this game from top to bottom) I have to say I do agree with most of the points you made. Now of course, I'd cut book 1 some slack since that was back when it wasn't originally intended to be a big thing, so I'd assume MiniToon probably just didn't put that much thought into the story at the time. Book 2 though does have quite a few problems though, mainly the ones you explained. So yeah, I'm glad someone finally tackled this subject about Piggy.

My main problem is that 80% of the characters have no screen time. Giraffy has like 5 lines of dialogue and so does Mimi. Zizzy is barely in book 2, TSP, being one of the most anticipated things in the entire storyline turn out be some pouty teens who think they’re edgy because they wear grey, and there are too many underdeveloped side characters. This might have to do with the fact that Minitoon had no time to really develop them because of how we met most of the characters at the end of book 1 and Book 2 went lightning fast, but I feel like if the chapters in each book had a count of like, 20 instead of 12, maybe they could be developed better. But then again, it would get boring too fast. I don’t know, make Piggy a show instead of a game, the gameplay doesn’t effect much.

What did you mean with that point about zizzy,were you trying to say zizzy got infected too early? If that was the case i guess that would make since, but the way you phrased it made it sound like yiu dont know zizzy got infected and just assumed she disappeared. The point about tsp is kinda fair (although you would be extremely dumbing down willow and tigry's character). Do you actually expect minitoon to be able to make a show? Thats expecting way too much

This is the first piggy criticizing video where the person ACTUALLY plays the game and give it good reasons to say it's not really great. Most people dont even give a chance and just say "it's a granny and Peppa ripoff" without any further elaboration or real reason to not like it
11:50 In fact the player was infected in chapter 4 of book 1, in an extra chapter of book 2 it shows Pony (when he was part of the TSP) making the player and Doggy take the portion while they were sleeping.

As an irrelevant piggy fan, the only thing I'd disagree here is Bunny's death, it was emotional to me bc i had to wait WEEKS and finish a BAD map just to get a cutscene where the only character we know that isnt infected at that point DIES. Knowing the next chapter will be chosen by noobs everytime we play piggy and also the worst map to be piggy and ridiculously easy overall, just makes her death even sadder.

Honestly, I agree with a lot of stuff in this video especially tio and the fact that the first book barely had any story ( plus Port and ship ) also, this video is pretty funny!
I honestly agree with these points- Though I do feel like you missed out on Tigry and some of the other characters due to a lack of mentioning bonus chapters (which helps with character development a little more). With TIO's introduction, when referring to Book 2 he was introduced extremely late (and I agree, Ship would've been a good place to introduce him because you JUST had the argument with Willow), but when you take into consideration that there's 2 more games coming out (a prequel/Book 1.5 as well as Intercity) that explores more stuff related to him and other characters that didn't receive enough development, the story will probably seem less rushed if executed properly.
TL;DR the bonus chapters (CFCs) give a little more backstory to characters & more Piggy games coming out VERY soon will give more development to characters.
I do commend you for actually researching/playing through the ENTIRE game though (as I've seen some horrible game reviews before where they don't even go halfway into the game before critiquing it,) just thought it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on future possibilities for character development and story expansion.
Edit: Forgot to mention that you did miss a little bit of a TIO build-up, that being the Spooky Hunt event which introduced a character (Mr. Stitchy) that sort of "teased" the Insolence and a few notes that gave backstory to him- Everyone thought that the "ringleader" of the group would be Mr. Stitchy, so if you were there for those chapters when it released you would've been quite hyped to see who's been behind it.
I have played the Mr. Stitchy event (I have the skin and trap). But I feel like I should only mention things currently in game. Although, I did miss out on character focused chapters, but I might review those chapters in a later video.
But to be fair, I completely forgot about the existence of Mr. Stitchy
@@DatFlippingTomato I mean, the notes are still currently in the game- they did give an introduction + backstory to the Insolence, leading everyone to believe Mr. Stitchy was the leader and adding hype, building up the final reveal.
i never heard of there being a prequel and book 1.5. like is book 1.5 supposed to be TLB?
@@ZangetsuAkuma Yeah, Book 1.5 is going to be the upcoming TLB collab. From what we've heard, it follows a new character and how they changed the events of Book 1 and 2.

As a former huge piggy fan,i actually kind agree with your points,there barely any story,we only knew doggy and bunny for 3 maps,their names areso basic too,thats why i dont usually play the main line story,i play build mode maps or make my map
As someone who recently checked the game out after for so long since I left in book 1 ch 12 and played since it's early days, I can agree with every point made here honestly. The only good thing about Tio honestly is the fact his skin looks kinda cool so I'm only happy he exist for that reason.
Probably the only thing I want to add is the fact that it was first simply a Peppa pig killer joke game but it starts to try be it's own thing in book 2 which personally I'm not a fan of cause it kinda start to take itself way too seriously in a way I can't take it seriously but eh, also as embarrassing as this sounds I used to binge watch the entirety of all six seasons of Peppa pig for lore whatever reasons and to this day I still question that decision.

Piggy's world building is...Odd at best distracting at worst. ¿Why do the animal characters refer to each other as people but player keeps refering to them as animals? (Also this is important accoring to Minitoon so...) ¿Who the hell is Mr.P? We know he's a celebrity ¿but what is he? ¿An actor? ¿A musician? It would make sense to make him a famous scientist but he died so i guess we'll never know lol. ¿What the fuck is the insolence? man i need to know that's the story focus right? SO WHY IS IT NEVER EXPLAINED?????
I get the game is trying to make everything look more mysterious and make cliffhangers but it makes book 2 look like a waste of time because we never accomplish anything, we give the potion to either the homosexual (Pony) or The capitol, the damn bad guys who didn't even tell us anything about the cure, what they wanted to do with it or wtf was happening in the world. We loose in every way if you really think about it so when you finish the story you feel empty, not in a Bojack Horseman way just in a "¿that's it?" way. Book 1 left many secrets and lore in the air just like book 2 with the same empty ending problem. The games just keep leaving relevant questions out there and they drop yet another game to answer them literal years after. Book 1, book 2, the lost book and intercity. Minitoon really cornered himself with an already limiting platform such as roblox, he didn't need to make it 12 chapters or use the "intro cutscene, gameplay, ending cutscene" formula, he could have played around with the game's storytelling, visuals and overall mechanics to help make the story less rushed and longer, not with some stupid notes everywhere. Hallucinations and the legit mental breakdowns would have been a creative way of showing more info on the characters and story.
Piggy book 1 was lazy as hell and book 2 was trying to be too many things and failed epicly. At least in book 1 you had a purpose, finding the cure, but book 2 is like..."Fight the angsty forced-antagonist teenagers and their borderline cult but you also have to fight this tumblr man looking ass hazbin hotel OC but you ALSO have to find the cure now for some reason lol enjoy". And i woudn't really mind this if the purpose of the plot wasn't changed so quickly and drastically every single time a new antagonist was introduced and/or defeated.
The dialogue feels cringey as fuck 90% of the time ESPECIALLY WILLOW PLEASE MAKE HER SHUT UP. Almost no one talks or behaves like actual people they all feel like anime characters trying to act like normal people istg.

I coudn't care less about Doggy getting infected, i coudn't care less about Bunny getting infected, i coudn't care less about zizzy getting infected, i coudn't care less about Giraffy getting his cheecks clapped, i coudn't care less about Budgey, i coudn't care less about Mimi, i coudn't care less about Georgie and the twins, i coudn't care less about Tigry and i just got really frustrated when Kona and Robby were introduced. The game adds more and more characters to do a whole bunch of nothing with them and most of the time the characters were just unnesesary. The game would have been actually better if the main characters would have been Zizzy, Pony, Player and Georgie (because he still had potential), their deaths would have more weight because it adds to the feeling of loneliness and that maybe you won't have anyone to have your back this time. It makes you a bit anxious because it implies that there aren't many survivors out there and you have to take care of the little friend group because it's all you have and they're still supposed to be close with you. This makes more sense because ‼surprise‼ the game centers around the idea of losing your loved ones and it barely even works with it. We never know how the insolence works even though it's literally the big evil of the game and the carrot guy, *one of the main characters who also just so happens to be incredibly important to the lore,* is being constantly harassed by TIO seemingly not sugarcoating it anytime soon and somehow it's not important??? What???
That's all i'm gonna say for now because i plan on doing a little rant video about this game in the future. The true horror was the incredibly stupid desicions the characters made and the insane plot-holes in areas of the story that were supposed to be important wich is obviously something that shoudn't happen in your story. The only reason i even had the strenght to keep track of the story is Pony, he was the only thing in the game that actually kept my attention (and they fucked him over too really, REALLY badly).

They game does kinda show some tio development in the distraction chapter with Zizzy where he just talks about his back story. There are other spin-off chapters where they give more character development with Tigry, Willow, and pony.

I just like playing Piggy more for the gameplay than the story, but even the gameplay gets boring for me after a while, I agree with the part of UNCLE being introduced too late in the story and honestly the dialogues in book 2 made me almost fall asleep more than making me interested in the story, I don't know, why are all the characters philosophers and because of that try to add "knowledge" in their speeches☹☹☹
As a piggy fan myself, you do have a good point about characters and places being underdeveloped. There should've been more story in book 1 and character-focused chapters to explain how the characters got to where they are today(like heist and breakout).
as a piggy sweat (sad ik) i got everything and maxed the game, somehow still not bored and now i can be the tio skin and shout “IM A BIG BLACK MAN” everytime i spawn as piggy. it was worth it getting tio, even if i had to do it solo
I know Im late, but as a Piggy Fan, I absolutely loved this video! I just find funny how you interpret the story, because It's literally that. Of course, if you go deep in the game, some of the charachters like Tigry for example get more development, but you made some pretty good points.
I think the reason we fell in love about this game is because of the simple story and gameplay, lots of free time (quarintine) and the special bond we community at that time developed. The community build at 2020 was something magical. The game might have not been that good for the amount of hype now that you look after some years, but at that time it felt something different.
Hopefully Intercity brings at least a bit of that magic back. I would do anything to go back to those times.
Hey guys, why are so many of you upset over his opinion? He's simply stating reasons why he feels the game was rushed. Is it really such a big deal if thousands of fans love it while one person can't? Personally, I find the story really engaging, but that's just my take. Everyone's entitled to their preferences based on their experiences in a certain category. The only issue I have with this video is his title, which suggests the game is a disaster when it isn't, but I suppose that that's just there to engage viewership.
I am a huge Piggy fan myself and I remember waiting for new chapter releases all the time to see how the story would progress. I actually thought that the story of Piggy was pretty good until I went back to this game. I think what made the story so great for me back then was the hype. It's like watching a TV show as the episodes come out. You could never know what would happen because it wasn't out yet. So the "emotional" moments actually landed because 3 chapters felt like 3 months. So, yeah, I get what you mean as somebody who has only just come back to the game. If MiniToon makes a third book, it should be focused on clearing up the unanswered stuff and giving more character development to everybody. If you don't include the first chapter, book 2 is literally like 2 days long canonically. Even book 1 was around a month long (according to Forest) but book 2 has the same logic as Legend of the Brofist where the entire story is technically like 3 hours. But yeah, Piggy can be improved a LOT in the story and gameplay department, but I think that the gameplay stuff mainly comes in build mode and the extra chapters. Distorted Memory is actually a great map in gameplay due to the layout and one-time mechanic and the same goes for the limited time book 2 maps. I could definitely make a video about those by myself though. Just know that this is a great video and it was fun to hear the opinions of somebody who didn't really enjoy the game just like how people call AJR some of the worst insults ever and I watch it as a loyal fan of them lol.
Actually port is one of the chapters which had the biggest secrets of all time.
So first of all u need to click 5 insolence eyes scattered around the map and then click a note on the pillar saying “do not disturb” and knock on the door of the top right building an insolence creature will spawn. It’s name is “friend” he is faster than the player and if it catches you
You will die and he will de spawn

I’m actually aware of all those secrets. But those secrets aren’t story, they’re lore. My main complaint for Port and Ship is that nothing really happens. Although there may be secrets, there isn’t any ACTUAL story

1 year late, but, the game also has a lot of plot holes.
Since im seeing this in april 2024, i have a few things to say and add on:
I get your point on how the story feels a little bit more blank and boring at times, but soon because of other chapters we learn whats going on. (Not book 1, that barely had any story and was just lackluster) and i get why you feel the way you feel. It took 2 entire years to get a good theory on tio’s backstory, because of the hunt map. The main story is alright, its just kind of the player doing stuff and every once and a while a key moment, new character or some sort of hint will appear. But i found it cool how almost every main character had a story that might soon connect to another character’s story that we will find out about. What im saying is, the story wont always be up in your face. In the future more answers might be revealed, but for now, there might be secrets yet to be found.
Another thing i would like to point out is how the gameplay has changed. There is new puzzles and mechanics in every new chapter that has came out since lab. The ones that came out were breakout, mansion, music event thingy, and the hunt. The music event was just kind of a promotional thing with some cool things, thats all. But the others, oh boy were great. Breakout felt like a horror movie. It was scary, fun, and the portal mechanics were cool. Im glad we found out more about tigry and the code was pretty cool. Mansion was interesting; it barely had any important story and had a super basic code but i loved the bots mechanics. The bot was super fast, but there was a way to avoid it. If its face was red, look away, and if its face was blue, look at it. I found this really cool, but it wasnt the greatest chapter. The hunt chapter was really cool; it made you find papers across the map to make a Time Machine work, and then the next section was really cool. There was elevators, which you had to find a key. To. Every elevator would display a two digit number. (There was three) if the number on one was 17, the first digit of the code would be 7. If the number was 21, the second digit would be 1 and so on. Pretty cool code, which definitely confused me at first. The bot mechanics were the best part though. There was 2 bots. One was blind but could kill you, and one could see, but wouldnt kill you, instead alert the other bot who would speed to your location. A really cool mechanic that has you be stealthy.
Final thoughts: piggy has changed from being a game about keys. There has been many new mechanics, some cool some just stupid (like hidden ending code stuff. I mean really, it took 5 days of nonstop searching to find 1 ending.) while the story could be blank at times, if you dig deeper into it you slowly understand more and more, and how each character has their own lore, trauma, and goal. The character’s story usually ties in to one another. Sure, the overall plot could be said for many different video game’s lore. Take fnaf. If you really look into every detail, its a long and detailed story, but in retrospective it can be dumbed down to a paragraph or two.
I get that im late, but i just saw this video and decided to say whats new. As a BIG piggy nerd (seriously, i have everything other than a gamepass or two and the dev skins) i can definitely understand your thoughts on the story and gameplay. Book 1s story is still ass thats for sure

The thing is, we do know more about TIO, from the secret bonus chapters in the private servers that are based around one character. One of them, distraction, is what happens to Zizzy after the player and Pony leave. She ends up seeing TIO and he actually goes into some of his backstory. How he was a lonely quiet child, so he ended up making a friend, one from “beyond” he explains that they were great friends, perhaps too great. Because TIO started becoming more like this mysterious friend of his, and that friend didn’t like that, which he apparently made very clear to the world TIO says. And when his time in their world ennded, his time “there” began, referring to the place of memories the player and Zizzy see in encounters with him.
Yeah, I agree with most of your points, even though I like Piggy. Especially when you talked about the book one characters (and TIO) having not enough buildup, you just meet them and then they die or do nothing.
the pages do help add more depth like they said bunny was very optimistic and made u the player more motivated and also getting all the pages give u a skin and getting all the pages from book one and 2 gets u willow the sentinal and another skin and also mansion before u turn on the lights willows foot steps are so loud like 2 time louder then normal piggy and in the dark with a charcter weith red eyes and loud foot steps makes me terified for my life

It is rushed though because book one just ended a few months after the game just came out, and Book 2 just came right after book 1 (like, RIGHT after.)

i feel like people are trashing on the story too hard, it’s actually enjoyable, both book 1 and 2, the characters are done well and get a good amount of screentime. I feel like if you don’t get a feel for the characters, that’s your fault, i will admit doggy and bunny died way too fast so there isn’t much i can say about that. I think TIO is done well because he is meant to be mysterious and he only shows up late because that’s when you are actually close to the cure so he shows up at the perfect time, as for the maps, most of them are well designed and have a lot of easter eggs and secrets. that’s all i have to say

As a fan of the infamous 4 award winning Granny as a pig game, I see your points. And I get that Minitoon hadn't really have thought in Book 1. Minitoon might have a small team or bad writing, but I do think he tried for us.
As a average piggy enjoyer who still enjoys playing this game I agree with this statement, although it might be a rushed game and might not have the greatest things. Its still one of the best games that could come out on roblox. And still will be cherished.
I think the main problem with the story is it's release cycle. Back in the day, we got months to fiddle around with the newest chapters, and that probably was the reason we didn't realise it's issues.

As a fan of piggy I agree with a lot of things you said. Especially the part about how most characters don’t have that much character development and that TIO was introduced way too late. As much as I love a lot of the characters they feel very bland and generic (I wish we got to explore the characters more). I feel like the Piggy community did a way better job giving the characters personalities than MiniToon did. Although I do find TIO an interesting character he kinda came out of nowhere. Like you said TIO should of been introduced sooner. It would of added more suspense to the story and it could of added a lot more lore to the story. It felt like he was just added into the story to make the story of the final chapters more complex and to make us the players have more questions (Nothing wrong with that but how MiniToon did it was poorly executed). Overall Piggy is nowhere near to being a masterpiece but I still enjoy it and props to MiniToon for trying his best to make a game from something that started off as a joke. I know MiniToon is working on a new game Piggy Intercity (It’s a continuation of piggy but it will take place years later after the events of the original game and it will be an RPG game with completely new character) so I’m hoping he does a better job with the story for it but I’m still excited for it regardless. One more thing that I would like to mention is that I really enjoyed your review of the game. A lot of reviews I’ve seen normally will call Piggy a granny rip-off and say this game is a cash grab, but you gave valid criticism and pointed out the flaws of the game really well! I genuinely enjoyed your video, keep up the good work!
Most complaints about stuff like ‘granny rip off’ only even applied in the games first month or 2 of existing. Most of them are uneducated about what they’re talking about and base a lot of criticism off of the fandom.
Honestly, you have good points. However, involving not knowing much about TIO, there is a character focused chapter called Distraction which explains a lot about TIO. That might help you understand more about him, but I do have to agree. Book 1 was very basic, book 2 should've introduced TIO sooner and had more explanation to what he is, and in general the characters are under developed.
I think one of the reasons why we liked Piggy so much was because of Kreekcraft hyping up the storyline with the theories. Hyping up the reveal of the insolence, only to reveal it was TIO and not Mr. Stitchy was pretty cool, but without the hype it sorta looses its value.

Yes, Mini could have introduced TIO earlier and gave more lore for other characters, but it’s still fun nonetheless.

In my opinion it was 8/10. I loved book 2 story even though it didn’t have much character development, this is mainly because it was very interesting to me, and TIO was supposed to be mysterious, and he showed in just the right time, since we were getting closer and closer to the cure. Although I still think he should’ve appeared in the Ship or Docks.
"Piggy" Fan here: I agree with some of your points, I am working on a live action parody that follows the game's story, but I make some of changes to the story to either fix the story's issues or add in some of my headcannons.
One of the reasons why i dislike piggy is because minitoon did abandon iron assault,ia 2 hasn't gotten an update since they added an ai either as far as i'm aware but it kinda made me hate piggy when it blew up.
For anyone not aware iron assault is a game somewhat similiar to hoi4,the original was VERY simple,and turn based,ia2 is more similiar to hoi4 with it actually being real time and having more stuff
I agree with a lot of stuff in this video especially tio i think id be way cooler if he slowly built himself up like at the end of ship for example saying things but we dont see him or smth maybe later on he threatens us and try’s to make us accept his deal making us as players slowly start to hate him which would’ve made us defeating tio actually satisfying because if you didnt read any notes or pay attention(a casual player) you’d be so confused who the hell this random guy is build up would have been great I love this game but everything has its flaws especially piggy

I agree with your points, I mainly play piggy for the story, but seeing your friends die on by one when you played it from the beginning, you can't forget. You actually felt sad when that said chapter came out, and Doggy died, then Bunny dies too. You're just overwhelmed with your emotions. You even see Ghost Bunny in the outpost map, i think you still see Ghost Doggy in the intro to hospital, so youre still thinking of them even though you died. Yes, I may not get sad anymore. But do I care? Absolutely not, ill keep playing piggy till it dies. I agree with the points you made. TIO (dude man) should have been introduced sooner as we would have that strive to keep pushing like we did in book 1. The eyes also somehow.. whsiper to you? I dont know, man.. I also would have loved to see more character development with Zee and Zuzy as they lost their older sister. Mimi and Griaffy shouldnt have existed since they are not relavent to our story. i think this all happened because minitoon's chapter limit was 12 for each book. if it was higher, he would have more time to develop the story.

As a piggy fan, ( I know this has been used like 1000 times in this comment section but whatever) I can agree with almost every point that you made, but what I agree with the most is TIO. Back in Book 2 Chapter 4, the first hints towards TIO started coming, and it was the perfect time to do so. Mr Stitchy was introduced, we started getting notes in previous chapters, and the eyes started appearing. After Book 2 Chapter 6 ended and Willlow's "Arc" was, for the most part, completed. I thought that now we were going to start seeing more of TIO, and after that whole weird smiling guy secret in Book 2 Chapter 7, and the Radio secret in Book 2 Chapter 8, I thought that in Chapter 9, we would start getting some more, substantial stuff, y'know, considering we were 2 thirds of the way through Book 2, but nope! We just go more teases, and then in Chapter 10, he just appeared out of nowhere. 2 chapters before the end of the game is when we finally see our main antagonist. It's even worse when in Book 2 Chapter 11, we don't see him at all! The only thing even slightly related to him was the secret skin which might not even be related to him at all. Then Chapter 12 and Distraction come out and boom, now he's the entire focus. I cared more about Mr. P, a sentient potato that caused an apocalypse, more than I cared about TIO, the main big bad with mysterious super powers. Just a big letdown.
One thing i do disagree on is when a game relies on story its rushed and not great but there is so many story games that are amazing
The only problem I have with the story other than TIO is not bringing back Mr. P. If you're gonna make a character that caused the chaos to the world and reveal that they're not actually evil but broken of the mistakes they did, you NEED to bring them back in the sequel except if they die or something which I doubt Mr. P did.
Mr P definitely did die and minitoon doesnt actually need to bring Mr P back (If he did, that would actually be great), as many movies with villains have them do a lot in the first movie, but don't don't appear in the second movie. An example like this is the Joker from The Dark Knight.

He can fly a helicopter anyways so if he's being over run he can just fly away except if Delta shot the helicopter. Also just because a character doesn't show up in the end credits doesn't mean they won't show up in the sequel. Take Elly for example, did she appear in the end credits when it's showing the City map? No. Did she appear in book 2? Yes.

Of course Minitoon wont show Mr. P dying, he's not really the type of person to animate that. Honestly if Mr. P was alive, then he would have been in Book 2, which he wasn't. (Unless Piggy: The Lost Book brings him back for a continuation or prequel bcs it's now cannon to the story, so techincally there is a book 3 of piggy and we just have to wait till it releases) Elly only is in Book 2 bcs she is an insolent and Minitoon basically wanted a collab with all the insolents.
At first i didn't agree about this, but as i watched i realized it was true. i agree mostly, but also keep in mind that minitoon basically for all of book 1 had to improvise, only book 2 had a story set-up.
