I absolutely love the fact that you give weights in grams...it has changed my baking for the better. It is so much more accurate than cups or ounces. Many thanks.
I know, right? I've always disliked how "1 cup" wouldn't always be 250ml due to the different densities of the ingredients themselves. It's really nice to get the mass, as it's much easier to work with.
JUST tried these today. The house smelled amazing! I love earl gray, and I usually add honey to my tea when I drink a cup. I modified the recipe a little to include about a half tablespoon of juice from an orange WITH the zest, and a bit of honey to the glaze. It was delicious, thank you!
John, I personally gotta thank you for you and your videos. They have upped my baking and cooking game soo tremendously. I never realized that I had such a passion for baking/cooking until recently. I've gotten compliments from families, friends and even my neighbors. Yesterday I made your cheesecake recipe, and one of the front door men told me that it was "one of the best cakes I've ever had." I made your blueberry muffins one time, and my uncle said that it was the best muffin he's ever had, and he wasn't exaggerating. Also, these look amazing! Earl grey is my favorite type of tea.
I’m so going to try baking these next week when I have a bring-cookies-excuse at work. They sound so delicious! It’ll be fun having something my colleagues probably haven’t tried before.
I made these for a party last weekend and I have never gotten so many compliments! My friends were stuffing them in their pockets to take home and fighting over the last few. I now have to have these made every time I see my friends 😉
This is the recipe I've been dreaming of! I've been dying to bake with infused butter and this was the perfect chance! I started yesterday and wow! When you said the browned butter with vanilla smelled good, I believed you but I was not prepared for _how heavenly_ it would smell! Once it was chilled the smell really reminded me of homemade salted caramel, which is one of my favourite things ever. I still have to cut and bake the cookies and I just can't wait!!
I could eat browned butter on old sweat socks and call it a feast! I love browned butter on so many things and Earl Grey is my favorite tea....what a treat this recipe is!
I jumped on the video when i read the title, and i got more excited when i saw the complexity of the ingredients you used, definitely going to make this! Thank you
This recipe is really reaaaaaaaaaally good. All my family and friends love it! Though I don’t know why my dough always came out more watery and not holding so I had to constantly add more flours before I could cut and freeze them.
Just made these and they're an absoluate hit! Perfect sweetness level, especially for my Asian family. Amazingly balanced flavours, and the texture is wonderful, falls right apart. Really easy recipe too! Thanks so much for sharing!!
OOOOH thank you John... These are just perfection with a drizzle of love. I eat these with warmed milk at night and they produce the best flavored dreams... giggle
I have the same Bees Wrap sheets! I wasn't sure what they were for when I got it in a White Elephant, nice to know I can use them as a wax sheet for baking!
I LOVE mine and use them in place of platic wrap and Tin Foil. Just can't use them for warm/hot things :) Also have Meliwraps with are very similar and come in different sizes.
I have loved all your recipes that I have tried. My family has been enjoying them too. I got your recipe book for Christmas and Sunday Dinners have been courtesy of that book. Thank you for being my cooking and baking muse.
It's so magical when you get a notification on a recipe that fits what you want to bake. I've been thinking of baking something with earl Gray since yesterday. I was debating a cake with tea infused milk or go with chocolate cookies. But preppy kitchen shouted hey! Why not earl Gray cookies! Thank you dear sir for this wonderful recepie!
❤Ooooh looking forward to making this one. I may just sub in some ginger for the cardamom. Sorry John…it’s just not in my top 10 spices. Btw, LOVE your cookbook! The stories are as good as the recipes. So special to share your family with us. Thanks!
Cracking up at the cornstarch moment. I can’t touch towels that have been dried outside. Makes my teeth hurt. Love both Earl Grey and brown butter though so these are a must.
I think all the flavours you chose would be delightful, I really do!!! Kind of reminds me of a chai tea type of cookie, maybe an Indian theme. Thank you for sharing with us, I really enjoy watching and listening….and the glaze is something you could dive into lol Thanks again !! ❤️Tina❤️
I love Earl Grey tea, definitely making these cookies. I made your apple bread and my family enjoyed it very much. Also made the orange cake it was delicious. Thanks for sharing.
I knew these were gonna be good, but I was not prepared for how good! Amazing! The only I changed was adding cinnamon because I didn't have any cardamom. Freaking delicious!
I've made these today and just having my first bites. Oh my. These are awesome. So soft and a fantastic flavour. That glaze nearly got all eaten with a spoon too 😅
Wow! I love butter and your cookie recipe is amazing, can't wait to try this. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHEF for sharing this amazing recipe! I love teas too and this is a great tandem for tea parties and a great gift for any occasions....hmm a good home bake business idea 🤔🤔🤔
Hi, John! I have all these ingredients & I think I’ll try this recipe. 😊 John, please make some recipes with lavender & rose water🌹🌹. You have a rose water in your cookbook but I’d like more, please! Your book is great but only half the recipes I’m capable of making & the spine has problems, contact your printer, maybe. Photography is gorgeous! Can’t wait to check & see more recipes, like Christmas morning!🎄☃️❄️
Hello, It's lony been a day since I found your channel and my English isn't enough to understand what you are saying, but I'm enjoying your videos👍 All of them look great and I tried making swiss butter cream following your steps. And I was able to make delicious butter cream. It was my first time. Thank you.👍👍
Oh - Just found you - subscribed and watching til my eyes turn red --- love that you love copper pans - they are a nice look ! I love to see other's collections - copper is my thing - but you have such a lovely collection :) well done.
Oh my goodness gracious! These are heavenly! I made some for Mother's Day 💙 So tasty, an incredible cookie 🍊 ☕ Thanks John! Can't wait for my mama-in-law to try them! She loves shortbread & tea so this will be a pretty darn perfect gift 😊
These really were amazing! I didn't add the glaze but I don't think it needed it. They're delightfully short, and just sweet enough. I think I'll add a bit more cardamom next time.
That's a really interesting recipe. I'd never thought of using brown butter as the 'carriage' for flavouring other than the butter itself. Are you using powdered sugar (rather than caster) to give the biscuit more snap? And that glaze looks amazing - I was immediately thinking of other things you could use it on. I can't wait to have a go at making these over the weekend. Thank you.
I absolutely love the fact that you give weights in grams...it has changed my baking for the better. It is so much more accurate than cups or ounces. Many thanks.
Same. I pretty much refuse to use recipes that don't use weighted measurements. Sometimes the difference can be as much as 50%!
I know, right? I've always disliked how "1 cup" wouldn't always be 250ml due to the different densities of the ingredients themselves. It's really nice to get the mass, as it's much easier to work with.
Yep, only communists use cups vs grams. Pretty sure it's not protected by the 1st Amendment.
I love Earl Gray, i love cookies. I see this as an absolute win!
Yay! Hope you enjoy the recipe as much as I did!
It’s a win win!
agreed next time i or someone else plans to makes cookies ill probably suggest this one
JUST tried these today. The house smelled amazing! I love earl gray, and I usually add honey to my tea when I drink a cup. I modified the recipe a little to include about a half tablespoon of juice from an orange WITH the zest, and a bit of honey to the glaze. It was delicious, thank you!
I love this. I get tired of seeing the same old cookie recipes.
Oh thank you!

Yay! Happy Baking!

Do you dunk them in, Earl Grey tea, lol😅mmmmm.
Ooh... these look delicious. A couple years ago, I made shortbread cookies with blueberry tea-infused butter. I can't wait to make these!
I made these for a party last weekend and I have never gotten so many compliments! My friends were stuffing them in their pockets to take home and fighting over the last few. I now have to have these made every time I see my friends 😉

THIS isn't a cookie recipe, this is ART! lol! Can't wait to try it! ...next Christmas...I may have recovered from this past Christmas by then...
I made these with a tea I got in Hawaii called Mamaki. They were delicious! I used sour cream in the glaze instead of the milk. Yummy

You and your family and show and book are such a delight. ❤
Earl Gray is my favorite tea. It's a Queens tea. So fragrant! Thank you for the brown butter too!

This looks amazing. I can’t wait to try this recipe, thank you
I made your banana oatmeal muffins! They where great. Made them with almond flour.
