That'd be amazing. James Storm and Bobby hint at their obvious history together and it ends in a classic match with Storm kicking the Glorious One's head off with a Last Call and pins him for the NXT championship. After the match he gets on the mic and cuts a promo. Ending it with "Oh and Bobby, SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAMN LUCK" to a massive pop and effectively Sending Bobby to the main roster.
How to save the cruiser weight division 1. Don't change the ropes when they wrestle on Raw 2. Don't give them stupid storylines involving Alicia Fox 3. Let them put on longer matches like in the CWC 4. Put Kalisto, Andrade, and at this point, Hideo in the division to give Neville legitimate threats because Neville was obviously gonna beat everyone. Austin Aries was his only threat
I'd go one further than that and take them off Raw entirely. Vince clearly doesn't care about them and one five minute match on Raw as an advertisement of 205 Live only makes the brand look weak. So take them off Raw, change the name of the show to 205 Alive (or something, I'm not good at naming things) and run the show at Full Sail on tape. Have the cruiserweights be a part of the Takeovers so that there's time to actually build a challenger up to be seen as potentially on Neville's level, as an actual threat to the title.
Andrade and Hideo are clearly the two biggest disappointments. They're pure money but through no fault of their own they can't get over. Andrade has been misbooked for months and Hideo just keeps getting injured; also, Shinsuke Nakamura took Hideo's spot as "Hot new talent from Japan that kicks and practices Strong Style" and it's a big deal because now fans remember Nakamura as the first Strong Style practitioner in WWE when it was actually Hideo.
KENTA was never a strong style* guy NOAH worked ark style witch is in fact based on Kings road style on Strong Style and *Strong Style* is not even a style its ethos that WWE a removed from Nakamura
Have y'all never seen an og KENTA match? The man works snugger than snug, he works pretty stiff. Hell, even his most recent match with Oney Lorcan was stiff as hell. He is 100% a wrestler that falls under puroresu.
at least they're making Almas' losses into an angle. And looks like he's pairing up with Rosita offa TNA, so maybe there's a new stable forming or something. Los Ingobernables de NXT?
Jeff Cobb is another great example. Despite being a bit shorter, he's one of the most naturally gifted, and most laid back guys on the indie scene. His Tour of the Islands/Wrath of the Gods powerslam is one of the best in the business, and he was part of the wrestling team for Guam at the 2004 summer Olympics. He was signed to NXT for a hot minute, and even trained in the performance center, but I don't think he ever maid it to TV. But he's currently killing it as one of the best characters in wrestling 'The Monster' Matanza Cueto on Lucha Underground, where he also has one of the best masks in wrestling history.
Sarah There is a good understanding of the English language, and then there is a bad understanding of the English language. You have a bad understanding.
The problem with WWE is name swapping known fucking guys. Chris Hero should have showed up as just that, like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, when your already known by one name and are a huge indy star under it, have them keep the name. The same can be said for Kimber Lee.
Kassius Ohno is a guy who I was originally sceptical of until I saw him in a live match where he wrestled Tommy dreamer. Despite his physique, the man is incredibly athletic and a treat to watch
This list desperately highlights nxts need for a mid card title. There is nothing for these guys to bridge to the main event. Strong, black, ohno, eric young, almas, all main event quality but cant all fit in.
I feel Strong, Black, and Young have potential to be in the main title picture. I mean Strong had a awesome match against Roode and he was super close and everyone got behind him. Black has this aurora and mystique around him that can make him a badass and cool Champion. And Eric Young he's a strong talker and with Sanity they can rule NXT which I've craved to see of Cross winning the Womens Champion, Dane and Wolfe the Tag Titles and Young the NXT Champion.
It's interesting that the two highest on the list seem to be about to have a program together. Seems like they could maybe turn it around, since they're both quite good.
Fuck man, Hideo was one of my favourite's out of that whole crop of Indy guys they signed in 2014 (Balór, Owens, etc). JUST MAKE HIM THE MALE HEEL ASUKA & HE SHOULD BE FINE
I've read the book. Biggest waste of money ever. There were so many factual inaccuracies & it looks like nobody proofread the thing. I get that writing a factual book is difficult but it could have done with more than one writer & a lot of proofreading
According to my sources WWE is really high on Andrade Cien Almas and they feel that he can be the new Eddie Guerrero. He is taking several English training classes and is improving his promo skills. Until then he is looking to job and push the other young talent. His time will come soon :)
They ruined Wade Barrett so badly. The biggest star during Nexus 's run in WWE. But jobbed to Cena. Bo Dallas was a main event star in FCW and NXT with incredible wrestling abilities but McMahon thought it would be a great idea to destroy him with Bolieve gimmick
Kinda hard to drop promo after promo when rookies keep trying to kill you. (I'm not serious obviously I'm sure both were just freak accidents but it's some really bad luck that happened twice.
Ouch! Damn! I forgot how much it stings to think about Richie Steamboat! He was such an amazingly talented and charismatic wrestler (and yes, I said wrestler. What of it?!) I was watching NXT regularly during his run and he was an incredible breath of fresh air. I just knew he was going to be a future main event talent... then he got injured and it was all over for him instantly. It was like watching an amazing tv show getting cancelled before the first season ended. Like Constantine. Richie Steamboat's NXT career was like getting into Constantine. Nothing but good feelings going in, then suddenly "Hey, I was watching that!!"
Honestly Hideo bores me. Monotonous theme music, no character, and i haven't seen many great matches from him (keep in mind that i only started watching NXT after Brooklyn II, so please recommend anything good). As for Andrade, the only limited character development he got was when he turned heel and he's been a lowkey jobber since then. I enjoy his matches for the most part though.
I'm not sure about Andrade being on this list. He sometimes gets some serious heel heat, and any match he's in generally hypes up the crowd really well. NXT made a good choice in turning him heel because he is playing that role well and even though he's currently an upper mid-card heel, he's still putting in great work.
Let me get something off my chest. For the past few years, i have been preferring other promotions over WWE. But there's still a part of me that wants WWE to be the best Wrestling Company in the world. Probably, because of the emotional attachment to it since it gave me most of my childhood.
abram w.momin The same is for me. I turn to other promotions, but WWE seems to be the "grand all, be all" place for most of them. Sometimes, it's even hard for me to not watch WWE, cause it's been in my childhood for so many years. I even stopped watching for almost one year, but something in WWE always keeps me coming back.
THenry12 They have a lot of talented people and their production quality is the best, biggest arenas, best music, pyro, etc. WWE is the best and the only problem is that they tend to keep booking for one guy's tastes and that's a 72 year old man named Vince McMahon.
I would not consider nearly half of these 'flops' when they are due to health issues (Raquel Diaz, Hideo, Richie, Kassius). Piss-poor usage of the word, you're making it out like these guys didn't connect, when they clearly did not (when you even say that crowd 'popped'). I would've reworded it to "10 NXT Superstars that slipped through WWE's fingers."
Alex Monroe, did you? Tell me; how is someone leaving for a back injury (in the case of Richie), or someone with other health issues like eating disorder (in the case of Raquel) considered a "flop"? Or when someone gets a solid reaction but leaves on their terms (aka everyone in that list who ASKED for their release like Storm considered a flop?
I like Itami... but man is he made of glass. Like, he takes one step and breaks his arm... That's how fragile he is. Wrestling is a tough job that really puts your body through the wringer, and he is just to fragile to make it in the business. It's a shame too, cause he could be someone.
no, hes not fragile. Just unlucky. Watch his neck injury before saying hes made of glass. It was caused by working with a dude who was as green as grass. It's not like he took a back bump and BOOM his neck is broken.
I heard Low Ki quit because of WWE's travel schedules. Andrade Almas and Chris Hero feel like victims of the system. Almas's booking definitely hurt him but he still puts on Takeover matches that keep me tuning in and saying Triple H's future jobber factory is better than the main brands. Kassius Ohno feels like a mix between punishing him for leaving and picking on him for having a thyroid problem, rendering him a mulletted fatty the likes of which we haven't seen since 90's Big Show.
That's because he hasn't been in any real feud where he could have the ability to showcase his talent. How about you watch something other than WWE to see what he can actually do when given the opportunity instead of guiding your entire judgement of a wrestler's career just by a handful of matches.
hideo 1st injury was a tragic one, but saying that the 2nd one was his fault is going a little too far, especially considering he was wrestling someone that was way too green
Not everyone can make it. Realistically, KENTA/Hideo was past his prime by 2014, and his best work was from the mid-late 2000s in ROH/indies and Japan. I remember him standing next to HHH and he looked so small, like you know Vince would never push him on the main roster anyway.
It’s time to remove Andrade “Cien” Almas from this list because half way through out of 2017 he had a manager in Zelina Vega and he became NXT Champion and also having one of the best NXT matches in the year already let’s replace him with Bayley the Duke the dumpster drozy of WWE.
I refuse to think Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero is a flop. No...just no. The man is continuing to fight a disease and is STILL one of the better in-ring guys on NXT. If people are so worried about physique, where's the criticism on Kevin Owens? IJS
Andrade Cien Almas is actually pretty good now
Allplayah21 he's the champ now 😍
He gave us one of the best matches in NXT's history
Jonny vs Andrade was a wrestle mania main event caliber match
Arturo Verdin one of the best in WWE history 👌
Cien vs Jonny Wrestlin was an instant classic.
Imagine if James Storm was in NXT feuding with Bobby Roode for the title...
The King HHH It'll be TNA all over again.
Matt Larsen 👏 noice 👏
The King HHH It would be like their rivalry in TNA/GFW.
The Phenomenal Commentary I didn't watch much of TNA back when the two were feuding so I would love to see a feud between the two on WWE/NXT
Well Andrade Almas is now NXT Champ ... huh
greytiger250 things change as time goes by
Hideo Itami is the NXT's version of Christian
Like if you get that reference
K skillz2 poor christian. he could just never stay healthy
ONE MORE MATCH *injury* ONE MORE MATCH *injury* ONE MORE MATCH *retirement*
+Ulikecookies both were bland and vanilla too.
K skillz2 did Christian retire
you're right....
Welp Cien Almas should now be removed from this list, and be replaced with No Way Jose.
you forgot my man AUSTIN ARIES
Zain Ejaz Aries made it to the main roster
He was good in NXT and he was good in main roster. Only thing that flopped was his backstage personality.
LemonadepieX ruined there and NXT
Zain Ejaz I feel The stories of him being a general Malcontent may explain Aries perfectly
So did Kaval, but he made the list.
How to save the cruiser weight division
1. Don't change the ropes when they wrestle on Raw
2. Don't give them stupid storylines involving Alicia Fox
3. Let them put on longer matches like in the CWC
4. Put Kalisto, Andrade, and at this point, Hideo in the division to give Neville legitimate threats because Neville was obviously gonna beat everyone. Austin Aries was his only threat
you forgot number 5 LET THEM FLY AROUND lol
his only threat because why? wwe have booked him that way if they done the same for other talents then it would solve the problem
RealMikeTerra Andrade is too big to be a cruiserweight. Roderick Strong on the other hand would be a perfect for the division.
Boman803 Andrade can lose 10 lbs to make the limit.
KENTA was never a strong style* guy NOAH worked ark style witch is in fact based on Kings road style on Strong Style and *Strong Style* is not even a style its ethos that WWE a removed from Nakamura
Agreed Andrade was main eventing the WrestleMania of Lucha Libre before he was even 25, and now he is a glorified jobber.
Rufin Fury Kenta would kick Nakamuras ass #fightme
Have y'all never seen an og KENTA match? The man works snugger than snug, he works pretty stiff. Hell, even his most recent match with Oney Lorcan was stiff as hell. He is 100% a wrestler that falls under puroresu.
Rufin Fury
Well... Nakamura looks safer than Itami so I don't really blame WWE, but IMO, he can still be a great NXT champion if he turn heel.
at least they're making Almas' losses into an angle. And looks like he's pairing up with Rosita offa TNA, so maybe there's a new stable forming or something. Los Ingobernables de NXT?
Los Ingobernables de Big Sweaty Men
T R A N Q U I L O
'Wait... is that... MAMMA MIA CAN IT BE? Tetsuya Naito is making his NXT Debut'
You were close but no!
Jeff Cobb is another great example. Despite being a bit shorter, he's one of the most naturally gifted, and most laid back guys on the indie scene. i legit like hideo itami theres so much hate on him
MRust01 he's blander than my 4 week old bread.
Have you ever actually tasted stale bread? It is many things, "bland" is not one of them.
MRust01 I don't get y?
his matches are so boring, I just fast forward them unless he's going for the title
SandstormSouth have you seen his ROH/Japan work he's simply amazing
you know what Hideo Itami's biggest problem was it wasnt the injuries it was a little thing known as Shinsuke Nakamura
Who else thought it was Plumpy and not Micheal Sedwick, ffs just left the video even though I got excited
Ibrahim Vohra I don't know if you're unfunny or you're stupid because it is plumpy
Taylor YT sarcasm lad
There is good sarcasm and bad one, youre the worst.
Sarah There is a good understanding of the English language, and then there is a bad understanding of the English language. You have a bad understanding.
Ozae There is a good understanding of the English language, and then there is a *poor* understanding of the English language.
James Storm used NXT to get a better contract from TNA.
Hideo... if he was free of injuries, he would be tearing things up and could have even become nxt champion.
I really thought Finn would be revealed as the guy who attacked him in the parking lot eventually.
Needs more Juice Robinson.
THE JUICE IS LOOSE
Hearing Adam Blampied's voice on a WhatCulture video brings a tear to my eye
Richie Steamboat was one of my favourites of the early years of the rebranding of NXT along with Seth Rollins
Who's watching after Almas won the NXT championship
Well Andrade "Cien" Almas is the current NXT Champion
thank the lawd it's plumpy
The problem with WWE is name swapping known fucking guys. Chris Hero should have showed up as just that, like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, when your already known by one name and are a huge indy star under it, have them keep the name. The same can be said for Kimber Lee.
0:30 tthe look on the mans face
Unstoppable 1237 he thirsty for that 🍑
Dat 🍑
He a perv
WWFAttitudeEraFreak No he just wants to wrestle with that booty
I’m watching this in 2019 and Andrade is like really good now 😂
Boii were you wrong about Andrade Cien Almas
he did say he hopes he can turn it around
Hindsight is a powerful tool. He wasn't wrong, at the time Andrade was looking like a flop.
Strong, black, ohno, eric young, almas, all main event quality but cant all fit in.
thom wilson a television title will fit great
Pablo ZC I say an internet title over a tv title. it makes more sense
gimilifa
I feel Strong, Black, and Young have potential to be in the main title picture. I mean Strong had a awesome match against Roode and he was super close and everyone got behind him. Ding Ding Ding!
Well seing that Cien Almas is now NXT champion, adam was dead wrong about him being a flop
No he wasn't because as he said there was still time for him to turn it around and now he has, but at the time he was right.
Wow, UA-cam for something right for once, 0 views, 0 likes, good job
Omar D if you say that then it would of been 1view 0 likes
I've read the book. Biggest waste of money ever. There were so many factual inaccuracies & it looks like nobody proofread the thing. I get that writing a factual book is difficult but it could have done with more than one writer & a lot of proofreading
Andrade Cién Almas is now the NXT Champion competing in great matches.
Well to be fair, Ohno is pretty huge in his own right...
Juan Sanchez He has disease you can't down him.
around the waistline definitely
Cyclone Colton Having an underactive thyroid isn't very difficult to maintain with a reasonable diet and exercise regimen. No excuse.
Ben Johnson Spoken like someone with the same condition themselves.
I can't get invested in Hideo. Every time he gets looked at wrong his bones shatter.
Rowdy Boy he's been injured twice, once because a rookie literally dropped him on his head.
Rowdy Boy Kurt angle got injured way more than hideo back in 2003 and 4 but I'm sure you invested in him.
Oh Im sorry do you see Hideo drop promo after promo? No you didn't because Hideo isn't anywhere NEAR Angle's level.
Rowdy Boy Calm down man no need to get hot
Kinda hard to drop promo after promo when rookies keep trying to kill you. (I'm not serious obviously I'm sure both were just freak accidents but it's some really bad luck that happened twice.
I thought Ivelisse looked familiar...
Hideo still has a small chance to get the same reactions he did back in 2014-15
Oh boy did Andrade turn his areer caround. Hindsight 2019
Cien is now NXT champ
Let´s just take in that 6 months after this video was released, number 5 on this list defended his NXT championship in a 5-star match lol
Lo Ki (kaval)is just too good for WWE
casper he should have a outstanding career in the WWE
alex kanyima hes in tna
Quite the opposite.
Ouch!
What about Austin Aries and Roderick Strong? They're bigger names than some of the others on this list.
Rick Young Roderick Strong is in a huge storyline with Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre at the moment but Austin Aries has a dissapointing run in WWE
When you watch this after ALMAS HAD A FIVE STAR MATCH... gosh.. what a waste of a talent!
In Hideo's case. It was fine in the beginning and then he got injured and put everything on pause.
I honestly don't think Low Ki/Kaval could ever have really made it in WWE no matter how he was booked. Dude can barely hang around in Impact lol
Update Andrade is the NXT champion you jump the gun there Plumpy
Why does Richie Steamboat look like ROH Cesaro?
Honestly Hideo bores me. Monotonous theme music, no character, and i haven't seen many great matches from him (keep in mind that i only started watching NXT after Brooklyn II, so please recommend anything good).
As for Andrade, the only limited character development he got was when he turned heel and he's been a lowkey jobber since then. I enjoy his matches for the most part though.
This video did not age well.
Andrade "Cien" Almas is fucking amazing now. Time flies eh?
I'm not sure about Andrade being on this list. He sometimes gets some serious heel heat, and any match he's in generally hypes up the crowd really well. NXT made a good choice in turning him heel because he is playing that role well and even though he's currently an upper mid-card heel, he's still putting in great work.
Renegade Vile
He's NXT Champion now.
His association with NXT was brief but could throw Eli Drake in there as well. The guy is awesome.
jeez I remember Richie Steamboat
So satisfying to hear Blumpys voice. greygasm
Let me get something off my chest. For the past few years, i have been preferring other promotions over WWE. But there's still a part of me that wants WWE to be the best Wrestling Company in the world. Probably, because of the emotional attachment to it since it gave me most of my childhood.

abram w.momin WOW. I mean, how in hell have you managed to live, having that bottled up in you for so long? 😂😂😂😩😩😩
Now, you should remove Andrade from this list.
Penguin619 having an easily maintained thyroid condition is barely worth mentioning.
Alex Monroe, did you? Tell me; how is someone leaving for a back injury (in the case of Richie), or someone with other health issues like eating disorder (in the case of Raquel) considered a "flop"? Or when someone gets a solid reaction but leaves on their terms (aka everyone in that list who ASKED for their release like Storm considered a flop?
wait KENTA who owrded very stiff syle in Japan one Major injury in 14 years goes to WWE and get injrued more wwe style is less safe
I like Itami... but man is he made of glass. Like, he takes one step and breaks his arm... That's how fragile he is. Wrestling is a tough job that really puts your body through the wringer, and he is just to fragile to make it in the business. It's a shame too, cause he could be someone.

Andrade has done amazing so yeah this list aged wrongly
It is WAY too early to call Andrade Almas and Hideo Itami flops. Quite frankly, it's really disrespectful.
Caleb Hall one of them is now champ
Who watched this after andrade cien almas being champion
I heard Low Ki quit because of WWE's travel schedules.
Andrade Almas and Chris Hero feel like victims of the system. Almas's booking definitely hurt him but he still puts on Takeover matches that keep me tuning in and saying Triple H's future jobber factory is better than the main brands. Kassius Ohno feels like a mix between punishing him for leaving and picking on him for having a thyroid problem, rendering him a mulletted fatty the likes of which we haven't seen since 90's Big Show.
Gigas0101 Alma’s became a star won nxt title put on a Dave meltzer 5 star
They saw this video then moved hideo to 205 live 😂😂
yeah bc im gonna buy an nxt book written by a fan instead of the one that five hundred pages longer commissioned by the actual company..
zhivago So you dont want unbiased facts?
Yeah, who would want a book with an outsider's mostly neutral perspective when you can have a much longer book of corporate propaganda?
Rasslin fan that likes the animu and loves traps go to the beginning of the video, and you'll find out who actually wrote the book
How wrong he was about andrade cien almas is bizar
Kassius Ohno is probably the most overrated wrestler I have ever seen. He is terrible!
MSGAMES
Terrible ? LOL
Who the fok is your favorite wrestler then ?
All I'm saying is in ring he hasn't shown me anything and isn't entertaining outside of it
That's because he hasn't been in any real feud where he could have the ability to showcase his talent. How about you watch something other than WWE to see what he can actually do when given the opportunity instead of guiding your entire judgement of a wrestler's career just by a handful of matches.
+MSGAMES Haven't you seen his match against Alestier Black on NXT a couple weeks ago definitely hard hitting action
Antonio Mateus exactly
8 months later, Alma's is nxt champion
My favourite wresler is also dean ambrose 😂👍👍
and look at Andrade now....NXT CHAMP
Update this list EC3 and Almas are great
I don't think Hedio is a flop just yet
Lol, 3 months after this video, Andrade Cien Almas Became the NXT Champion
Ohno and Almas have been doing a little better recently though, thankfully.
How did EC3 flop twice man
ITS PLUMPY YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES
I feel like when the flops who leave to become big stars is destiny, like if they were to be kept in wwe, than they wouldn’t become stars
Dood Bro Alma’s became a star in nxt
Plumpy
plumpy
plumpy
is going bald
Almas is now NXT Champion
hideo 1st injury was a tragic one, but saying that the 2nd one was his fault is going a little too far, especially considering he was wrestling someone that was way too green
Almas is now the champ!
almas is now champ lol
not hideo itami 😯😲😕
none of these are flops
Watching this now lol
Look for the Jim Cornette video where he talks about Low Ki, that's why the dude never got over in WWE.
Apollo crews anyone
they failed EC3 three times. THREE!
Not quite, pal. The WWE system failed him E-C-3 times.
Well look at Almas now
James Storm left GFW again....his future could still be GLORIOUS. Heh heh heh.....
That Andrade Almas thing sure did turn around
Not everyone can make it. Realistically, KENTA/Hideo was past his prime by 2014, and his best work was from the mid-late 2000s in ROH/indies and Japan. I remember him standing next to HHH and he looked so small, like you know Vince would never push him on the main roster anyway.
It’s time to remove Andrade “Cien” Almas from this list because half way through out of 2017 he had a manager in Zelina Vega and he became NXT Champion and also having one of the best NXT matches in the year already
let’s replace him with Bayley the Duke the dumpster drozy of WWE.
Almas is good now
Plumpys backs
I refuse to think Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero is a flop. No...just no.
The man is continuing to fight a disease and is STILL one of the better in-ring guys on NXT. If people are so worried about physique, where's the criticism on Kevin Owens? IJS
