I like that you've updated everyone on what your using. As you said everyone may have a different style or way of doing things. Everyone can't afford Stella's or Phenix's and some can. Point is match what you can afford to the information, as well when your fishing you don't want a equipment failure!
Theres probably close to $7k in gear sitting on that beach.......
Brother, when I was still active and stationed in San Diego, I loved surf fly fishing. Now that I live in East TX, it's difficult to get out to the saltwater, Fresh water is still fun but not as fun as hooking up on a large Salty species. I now live my Saltwater life vicariously thru your fishing videos. Solid Videos brother, loved the lather up by your mom's. My mom still does the same thing to me, and my kids are married, college, mom's never stop, lol. Keep living the dream brother.
Hey HS, love ure videos. Here in Portugal we fish with a very diferent setup. 14ft rods and 0.16/0.18/0.20 monofilament, and reels with large spools, so we can cast has far has we can. we usually rig them with minimum 2 meters of fluorcarbon, cause the fish here are extremely hard to catch. (seabass, seabream, etc) Catches here demand it and its very unusual to catch fish on the first trough. Much love from Portugal!
I use daiwa BG 6000 30lbs braid, a daiwa BG8000 50lbs braid. 14'6" rods, 5-7 ounce and 6-8 ounch. For heavier shark fishing is use daiwa saltiga 50 hyper multiplier to cast or swim out baits. from South AFRICA. Alot of my friends use the shimano stellas like you do. Thank you for sharing. Aunty Kim did well.
I found from the Chinese eBay platform, Taobao, there is a kind of remote-controlled, battery-operated little boat, about 12-16" long, used for chumming and release rigs into far away surf. That would be very helpful. Some models have even GPS and auto-return with low battery or any other problems. So cool.
It's awesome you have the family with you
I was in CA for 9 months, unexpectedly, and while I was there my wife gifted me a new salt water surf rod for my birthday. And by "gifted" I mean she said it was ok to spend that much money. I figured that since I was from the east coast, I would hit a bucket list item and catch a fish from the Pacific. Guys, 3 days....3 freaking days and nada. Not even a bite. I have never in my life been skunked that bad. I am pretty confident in saying that there are no fish in the Pacific. That is MY truth. LOL
But, I'm back on the East Coast, and I am looking forward to trying to fish again.
That stinks! But it happens. I had a similar issue in the Indian ocean, and to make it worse there were bright beautiful fish jumping out of the water laughing at me the whole time. Sometimes we have beginner's luck, sometimes we don't!
@@ericg3415 Thats the thing, I'm not a beginner. I lived 100 ft from a pond for half my life, I been fishing for as long as I could hold a fishing pole. Even my dad was like "damn son". But whatever. I plan to a catch a ton this year. I prefer surf fishing over pier fishing, and over the last 20 years, I have gotten more into salt water fishing. I can't even tell you the last time I fished in freshwater.
@@kevinashley478 Oh no, sorry I wasn't more clear. I meant in the sense of being new to an area or species. I wasn't familiar with the particular beaches I fished on my vacation and certainly didn't know specific techniques for those species, and I assumed you were the same boat when you said it was your first time trying to catch in the Pacific.
I've gone to new beaches and lakes and had times where I got lucky and happened to hit right on the best structures and landed loads of fish and I've had other times where I skunk the first several times till I learn the new location. That's what I meant by beginners luck.
@@ericg3415 oh yeah, lol... I had never been to the Pacific ocean in my life. I was in Palo Alto for 9 months, and decided to give fishing a try since I was about a 30-40 drive from the ocean. It was insane just how dead the water seemed, as far as fish. I never even was able to visually see fish from the pier. I was at the pier in Pacifica. I tried live bait, shrimp, cut fish, nothing. And I did this over the 3 different days. It blew my mind. But at least I know how to fish the east coast, lol.
hey skipper let me clarify this to our angler size 5000 is PE 2 it can hold 20lbs test 300yds exactly. and size 6000 spool is PE 3 holds 30lbs test 300yds exactly. nothing wrong slapping 30lbs test on 5000. its just how they measure it.
Great informative video. Would love to see another video on your beach camping and truck gear as well.
He told the lady she got 30 more minutes,, I was on the floor 🤣🤣🤣
LOL!
Watching from Miami Florida😀 awesome content
I honestly really appreciate your channel!
Can you Try out the trolley rig?👍
Listen to your mom they know best.... I wish my mom and dad were still around
I always do listen!
so , direct on braid main line..have you ever used a tapered leader (15meters fluo) from 18 to 60 and higer types so your main stays whole and not get bitten or shredded on rocks even your 30lbs snap like next to nothing on a rock or shell. saves you a lot of tackle.
combine a nice rod , 25 braid tapered leader and endtackle with fluo of choice with about 150 grams of clipped lead and make 200 meter casts in a jiffy
HS, nice shark catch!! And Cudos to Auntee Kim! Good Job!! Where is your dad? I’m so use to seeing him out there with you all!
Got some great tough ladies there. I’m always telling the wife she’s a lot tougher than she think she is. Love seeing the ladies help..
Yoh Skipper, try the handline(manual) fishing soon
What a catch Skipper, and I think your missing a fishing on ship episode. Then you could show off your rigs to thee other Anglers. Because your really popular. I grew up watching Dan Hernandez every weekend. It's lots of fun watching. So I'll be looking forward till next time, bye.
Thanks I appreciate it! I will go on boat soon for you!
The one summer I lived on the ocean I was able to fish in a river going into the ocean for salmon. Most of my fish were caught when the tide was high and the river slowed down the ocean fish were then able to go up the river s little bit.
Auntie Kim is a beast!!!!
Oh yea. She rocks
Love the content. I need to get a bait box for surf fishing in New Smyrna. My wife loves the beach and I do as well as long as I can fish 😊
As much as I would love to use Stella. I wouldn't be able to afford it. I use Abu Garcia, and Penns. They are more in my price range.
Would love to see you break out the alveys
Wow Auntie Kim is a fighter she's not given up 😂😂 Wow awesome team work
Love your videos
Watching from the Phillipines
been waiting for this segment
A lot of people have been asking so we had to deliver
Your mom is the best. 😂
Phenix rod are the S.H.I.T. I changed all my set up to Phenix. Super quality rod, and the warranty on them are also S.H.I.T.
I used to live about 40mins away from the store.
Hello, still looking forward to the Friday video.
And I learn by watching them.
I would like to know how to salt my bait because I can't.
Greetings to you and your family.
Sincerely
Yummy sharks. I really like the daiwa satiga reels. Cheers
Thanks..I learn more for your video 🙂
Woo! Auntie Kim!
Hey skipper, like your videos, but you didn't really talk about tackle .i.e line, hooks. Could you do a video talking about which brands of hooks, line and if you ever use spoons or poppers?
Another awesome episode. Blessings
Thanks!
I remember a subscriber asked if he can giveaway anything for his community and he got all mad lol 😆
Fantastic update on ur gear thank you...... auntie Kim is a heck of a fisher. Just curious how much wait can ur drone hold been wanting one but never pursued it because I was concerned it couldn't hold much and would just plummet to the water. Nice catch too btw
Love you guys ❤
Where are you finding 10’+ Phenix Black Diamond rods? All I can find on their website is 9’ or less.😞
can't get a friend with same hobby 😅
Why you dont use Long cast reels. Like Ultegra 14
I loves the Stella 😬
Me too!
Nice setups! Ever consider a Van Staal reel since they are fully sealed?
Hello! Nice video... what kind of drone you are using?
hi . what is the best line when sea fishing? braided or flourocarbon ?
Did I miss the name of the drone he uses?
didnt see you using the drone ,,or did i miss it?
the last shark i caught completely striped out the pinion gear on my reel
Haha, they will do that to you if you aren’t lrepared
Loved the video, thanks for the constant good content. What kind of vest do have on? can you lead me in any direction to get one. Thank you.
I’m new to surf fishing. But shouldn’t the V shape on the rod holders be facing the other way.? I think the open V facing the ocean would be harder for holder to be pulled in
think about when a fish pulls on the rod, you would want to open side to be pushing into the sand as opposed to the sharp side which would cut through and come out of the sand
Everything looks top of the line except that bubba crap knife with the katana handle .get you a real fillet knife the dextreme double side .
When you say you cast it out there , can you say in yards so we know how far you are casting the bait
I’m dropping it with the drone anywhere 150-300 yards out. I’m casting probably 50-60 years out
Mama's gonna keep you straight no matter how old you get.
Are you using M, MH or H for your rods? I want to buy my first surf fishing rod and I can't decide. Thanks for your videos I'm finally getting my first rod.
don't you have a sonar bobber that you use regularly that you think works well? I believe it was a Garmin but I can't find the video. looking for one that's good till we get a finder for a boat
Sir any affordable drone for fishing? location philippines.
Swllpro drone

BTW- mom is right. Lots of sunblock. Melanomas SUCK. I’ve had 2 removed, and a basal cell carcinoma. It means getting to go to the Dermatologist cancer surgeon specialist 6 trips plus ultrasounds and CT scans, and then having the Dermatologist tell you no sun, cover up, 70SPF even in winter … and they whine at you and screw up your potential fishing days with appointments.
Good morning, what was the brand of the pole stakes? I’m in the market for some
Hi Skipper
I am to purchase a fishing rod to be used for shores fishing for Africa please if you can advise of what length & flexibility & lead weight to take into consideration due to strong & high waves over there thanks in advance
Do you need a certificate to fly a drone ?
How far out on the drone for the shark rig?
I have a 12 foot and 11 foot surf casting rods
Perfect!
Saludos de Tijuana
What is the drone you use????
What kind of drone works good for carrying big bait?
Swell pro
What drone is it
Swell pro
Just like you say just fish
New title......
Everything you cant afford to go surf fishing with lol
I get it, it’s pricey, but I think it’s all worth it.
@HeySkipper I'm impressed with your $1400 + combos 😆. I get it man you love what you do. It's your life. One day I wanna be just like you! 👍
Those Stellas are mint but so unnecessary for this type of fishing
Lol, stella is never unnecessary.
The more I surf fish the more I realize that van staals are the way to go. As much as I love the smoothest of Stella’s, TP, and saragosa, they just doesn’t take the punishment that Van staals would bite and chew on.
For a mere 10 grand you too can do this 😂
You have no line on your reels
🤙😎
Idk i think u choose a Honda then a lambo Honda gang😂😂😂
Id choose
Lol, nothing wrong with that bro! Hondas rock!
JDM ALL THE WAY
😀😀😀😀😀🎣🎣👍👍👍👌👌👌
I take you seriously
I like donuts
I like turtles
Honda civic will outlast a Lambo
First
Awesome!
What’s the sexy gay dominatrix vest
HEY BRENDON , DO YOU LIKE BRUCE LEE MOVIES MY AISAN FRIEND?
You bet. Bruce is the MAN!
and he still can't catch any fish 😔 even the gumiies catch more fish than his usual sellable kit , F
What are you talking about lol. I catch fish nonstop, I think you are the one who doesn’t catch and trying to project it on me. Sorry for your bad luck, send me an email, I’ll give you free a kit so you can catch fish too. Senkoskipper@gmail.com. I’ll hook you up.
Hey Brendon ,do you ship internationally?
