The parts that freaks me out the most is how the longer you look at it, the more if its victims you can see poking out of the body.
This was RT games first Kirby game. Hence why his reaction has a lot more shock in it. He didn't know about all the other horrors Kirby has fought over the years.

I’ll say it: this is the one of, if not THE most disturbing bosses in Kirby history. Zero only gets gross near the end of the fight and Star Dream Soul OS is sad, but this is just on a whole different level. Every enemy you’ve fought so far unwillingly being turned into one grotesque hive mind. Yikes.

I think it's more that Fecto Forgo is the most disgusting. Conceptually Zero, Void, and debatably Marx are all worse, and power wise not even the most powerful Fecto is close to Star Dream, Void, or again, debatably Marx.
But just how disgusting and creepy it is get's a much more immediate, visceral, reaction.
@@nahte123456 Err, I think a giant parasitic mass of consumed beasts hungering for invasive power over its ecosystem through powerful mind-controlling psychokinesis is pretty fucking disturbing in concept, even more so than the incarnation of an omnipresent God that invades due to its negative thoughts and desires, and some megalomanic clown who deceives to get his way. Not to mention that it was captured against their will and was forced to be the essential servant of a hunan-like who eventually just forgot it.
Debatable for the God that I just mentioned who was somewhat emotionally manipulated by an ancient tribe in order to create unemotional beings who won't even hesitate to destroy worlds, but its still incredibly disturbing. Also in regards of power, Chaos Elffilis most likely beats Marx.
@@consideratebulbproductions4277 Marx got hit into Nova at multiple times the speed of light, causing the reality warping planet Nova to explode. And was mostly fine.
Fecto couldn't even destroy a planet under his own power.
Also fear is subjective but Fecto got grabbed by what seems to be normal humans and couldn't even control the Beast Pack as his own and needed to control them through Leongar.
@@nahte123456 Uh, Marx was completely killed upon the impact of colliding against the Galactic Nova as seen in the True Arena( and even then, that's not a test of power, we could mention how Fecto Forgo was still able to survive despite its physical body being obliterated ), although it might be possible that he was actually revived by the Nova's remains similarly to the True Arena.
I'm pretty sure Fecto Elffilis, forced into existence through Fecto Forgo, was capable of destroying the entire New World and Planet Popstar lol, and even then the main operation was just invasion until that very moment of desperation- not to mention that Elfilin was entirely separated from it during that moment.
Although I do agree it's kinda ridiculous to get captured by a hunan-like race( then again they're hinted to be the Ancients ), wasn't it proven that Fecto Forgo was clearly capable of mind control over victims through Meta Knight? And even when he did resist, the being was still capable of generating a psychological soldier out of him.

Some games know how to walk on a razors edge without being cut, some other children's games try to be too safe in my opinion.

First time?
Fecto Forgo as a concept trumps every Kirby villain by a longshot in terms of horror (Maybe except for Haltmann being brutally erased from existence by Kirby in Robobots True Arena). If it weren’t for the games cutesy aesthetic, this thing would look genuinely horrifying. The worst part about it is that in the end, none of those beast pack members escaped this fate.
I'd argue its horrifying even with the cutesy aesthetic.
It's terrifying with this aesthetic because it's more unexpected for new players
Just played through the main game. The game hints that the lion dude is out there somewhere, and if you rescue him in the post game, then they others should alive too.
Heh, it's just a different style of horror. Haltman/Stardream and Sectonia are much more classical tragedies supercharged with the horror of dreams and aspirations corrupted into unrecognizable nightmares, and several other big ones like ZeroTwo and Void Termina are eldritch/cosmic horror, where this is just full-on sci-fi body horror--and then you have ones like Magalore and Marx who kinda mix all three to lesser degrees. The body horror, mind control, & grey goo absorption are more immediately and viscerally disturbing, but it entirely depends on your temperament which is the most disturbing overall: (a) a father so blinded by despair he sells his soul to get his daughter back--only to never be able to appreciate her when she does (b) a godlike being whose entire existence is born from despair and whose only desire is to make the rest of the universe share in its misery as it cries bloody tears or (c) an ancient world-conquering alien superweapon with control over minds, dimensions, and biomatter, trapped and studied and desperate to rejoin with the other half to once again become "perfect" and punish those who trapped it here. All are horrifying, but in different ways.

The thing’s eye opening was scarier to me than Fecto Forgo was tbh
To the extent that I forgot its name seconds after the fight ended.
Luckily, the fight that shortly followed this one was spectacular.
That "thing" is Fecto Forgo before it even became that horrifying amalgam.
Yeah, I just hadn’t seen that Forgo was its proper name yet when I wrote this (I think it was actually right after I beat Fecto Elfilis)
It'd be cool if touching Fecto Forgo activated a quick-time event similar to Sillydillo's cage attack, where Kirby would have to struggle in order to escape from being absorbed, but if the QTE fails, you get instakilled, like with the cage attack.
Then again, it would make it hard for abilities like Sword and Fire to attack without waiting for the boss to do its lunge attack, almost creating another Pyribbit situation.

to the people who aren't aware of this it was said in an interview with the developers in star allies that it was intentional for kirby's plot to become a bit more disturbing as you approach end game I'm guessing its suppose to be a joke of sorts how the plot starts off simple but then evolves into a huge problem
I think it's meant to be thematic. Since Kirby is more or less a ball of pure joy and happiness (and tasty naptimes), the nightmarish abominations at the end of most games serve as the perfect contrasts for the pink puffball.
It is the perfect marketing tactic! Cute for the kids and horror for the adults!

I loved this boss though weirdly enough, I had a more visceral reaction to unhooded Hyness. As in: "Oh dear god, put the hood back on!"
Also, I like how most of the people here were either using the Meta Knight Sword or Space Ranger. (For my part, I used Buzzsaw Cutter since I've always been a Cutter fan which turned out to be a great decision.)

When I first saw what that thing did to the Beast Pack and saw Fecto Forgo, I was like, “WOAH!!! THAT IS SO MESSED UP AND WRONG!!! I mean I know they’re the bad guys, but come on, don’t you feel bad that monster absorbed them like they were just ID-F86’s late breakfast?”
I was scared and horrified what was happening, that… thing chasing me, it felt like I was a playing a Resident Evil game with it’s most challenging boss… and I never played any of those games before. Does anyone felt that same feeling too?
