Fun Fact: 8:25 ACTUALLY some of those maps are NOT unused, if you press M you can see those! Oh, 15:50 and this animation is from the good endings after The Yellow Rabbit bites Oswald (Thanks for fixing it! Great video btw)
The sketchbook implies Chica has been possessed for almost a year before the date on the calendar They started to notice Chica making nests in August but we see her doing it in June, it's hard to believe they couldn't notice that for 2 months
The flashlight breaking does happen in-game, in the 2 and 3-star endings. The flashlight falls out of Oswald's pocket while he's struggling against the Yellow Rabbit and shatters while the sequence goes on. Since everything beyond that point is either a game over or an ending, there's no real loss to it.
16:30 Actually, the reason for all of the older looking tech in Oswald's house is simply a result of Oswald's financial situation. The original book drives this point home a lot more, with Oswald mentioning how he's a little jealous of the kids at his school who have modern smartphones and tablets. This is also more than likely why the tablet minimap screen was cut. The game doesn't really keep as much attention on this aspect of Oswald's life compared to the book There are a couple of NPCs you can talk to that imply the game is set pretty close to our current year. There's one kid literally called "Vtuber Fan" who talks about his favorite vtubers, and there's another kid who mentions actual Mega Cat games that both came out within the last 2 years.
To be honest, after reading the book that the game was based off, I think that it was actually taking place in a time close to the current one. At the start of the book, it was mentioned that after school other kids played with their tablets and handhelds, while his family was poor and didn't have anything like that.
@@susumeyun It’s at some point in the main hallway of the school. I remember seeing it for the first time when MatPat was playing through the game on GTLive.
If I had to theorize why the Megacat Studios animatronic was removed it probably was just to avoid fans speculating its an actual canonical animatronic in this franchise. Like I think at this point Scott is very much aware of how fans pick apart every little thing in these games and rarely treat Easter eggs as just being fun meaningless additions so lol
I want to clarify- Into The Pit seems to take place closer to the 2020s as opposed to the 90s or early 2000s. In the book, it's mentioned that Oswald only had an old phone because of how little money his family makes, and he watches UA-cam at the library and sees other kids playing with smartphones and tablets. There is also an NPC in the school ingame, called "V-Tuber Fan".
I got a CRT as a gift in 2010. It is very much possible the game takes place in the early 2010's with the Mill closing due to the 2008 Financial Crisis. 2013-1983=30 years, plus Oswald is 10, and if his Dad was the one wearing the Freddy Mask when Dave was bit and was only 14 or 15 when that happened. Well, that adds up to Oswald's Dad being middle-aged in his mid-40's when the game's present takes place. Entirely reasonable.
except when you realize that the graphic novel says it's after 2020 and that vtubers are mentioned and we see remains of fnaf 6 animatronics in the mill
Honestly the idea of Mega Cat featuring there logo as a in game reference wouldn’t of been to weird for this franchise since in both Ruin and Help Wanted 2 Steel Wool included there robotic sheep mascot on a cardboard cutout
"you should see the weirdos we hire for our security guards" is a pretty funny line considering that (at least according to some theories) they hire an actual rotting corpse.
16:33 Nope, the "Present Day" in the game is 100% the modern day. There's a student referred to as "Vtuber Fan" who talks about a "cute shark named Gooba," which is 1000% a reference to massive Vtuber Gawr Gura, who made her debut in 2020. So, Into the Pit MUST take place some time during or after 2020.
I bet the spool, lighter, and hairspray was the original way to get firecrackers (explosives). They probably changed it so they didn't teach all of FNaF how to make a bomb.
Calling it right now, fnaf into the pit+ is gonna be releasing in 3-4 years with a lot of cut content restored and more to explain fnaf lore at the time 💀
You said that the game takes place in the late ‘90s to early 2000s because of the old cell phone but it’s explained in game that Oswald’s dad’s phone is “the saddest, most out-of-date model”
The game actually does take place in 2023-2024 and I’m pretty sure somewhere Oswald said his dad had and old phone, also their family is poor, so that’s why they have an old tv.
People would imo absolutely tear the mega cat easter egg animatronic apart as tiger rock lore, its just to close design wise and fnaf fans don't do coincidences, not anymore.
4:17 there actually is a phone in the counter room in the final version, it's next to the door to the Dining Hall (bottom-right corner) and it has call dialogue too
when planning how a floor plan would go in a game in a sketch it is IMPORTANT to map out what way the door is gonna go, even if its not apart of the game, which it could have been earlier on, maybe the yellow rabbit could have less chance to see you right away if the door opened in?
the counter room is actually in the original itp trailer, using deduction skills it appears that the long hallway that leads into the party room where the mci kids are was originally split in 2 counter would have been on the left. the door on the left in the room is the party room door there's still leftovers in the final game with the juicer around that area in the hallway
8:40 In the final game, You can call a secret number to hear William Afton get Springlocked. I think this room was likely to be accessible after the call, or maybe it would be where you find the phone number. It would have the real Williams remains (Not the Agony rabbit thing chasing around Oswald)
5:18 The employee's comment on security guards could be a reference to Mike Afton and how he has worked as a night guard at multiple Freddy's locations under different names despite being a walking corpse.
OMG TETRA!!!! I WAS WAITING IMPATIENTLY FOR THE THIRD VIDEO ABOUT THIS GAME! I'm happy you did it! I'm barely into the video so I would be happy if you talked about that debug mode with the insanity settings in it.
Actually, at Chuck E. Cheese, as far as I remember, the portrait’s actually were animatronic upper halves that would blink etc. Maybe that was part of the inspiration for blinking posters?
Fun fact I almost guarantee the hand sketched maps with doors was actually more useful then you think. The orientation of the doors would have been important to the level artists especially if different artist did different stages of the development. This signified to the first past artist which door asset to use for each opening. It may seem insignificant but this way artist two who may be actively drawing the internal layout can rely on said door opening a certain way for their design.
I do have to wonder if all this unused content is purely for place holding and concepts. The game references Fetch a lot more then others and it makes me wonder if they plan on making more of these fright stories into games.
