- Learn how to calculate moving or rolling averages in Excel based on variable average interval using a simple to understand Excel formula. Formula approach updates dynamically every time source data changes or average interval is changed.
In this tutorial we use AVERAGE and OFFSET function together to calculate moving averages. Benefit of this method is that we can have changeable average interval from 2,3,5,7,12 or so periods. And the averages are calculated dynamically and update automatically if average interval or figures in the data are changed.
