@abrown4075 Except Top Gear was extremely scripted and this was raw footage. Top Gear cars would break down way more often than any other car in the world, people have driven $500 beaters for years without issues but Top Gear can't even make it 30 miles without engines overheating. This is the same but different and I enjoy it a lot. It's just raw, good content.
It was a great honor and huge pleasure to welcome you guys at “Casa Automobilisti” in Sofia, share some laughter and have some fun together! Hope to see you soon again! Our “Casa” is always open for you :)
The hospitality by the Iraqi people taking you to their home for dinner and meet the family was unbelievable even though these people live in an active warzone. Wouldn't get that in London.
@tsmcake well obviously the media paints a picture here but this video here shows its quite the opposite and I'm glad. And shoutout to the Iraqi people for how they embraced mark and the guys.
It's hard to imagine it in reverse. A man from Iraq drives to London, and gets help with translation and communication, invited into a family home and offered a banquet of food. Not gonna happen is it. Food for thought.
I am the current World Record holder for the World's Longest Taxi Journey (69,716.12 km) and the World's Highest Taxi Journey (17,143ft) along with two of my mates! I'm glad you got to see the hospitality of people in Iraq and how difficult it is to make this journey!
Mark, I have worked in Iraq for the last 15 years on a 28/28 rotation as a Scotsman in the Basra oilfields. I loved my time there and completely agree with your observations. It’s not the safest place; it often feels like someone is out to get you at every turn but all they want is a photo and love there phones so much. However, the people of Iraq are incredibly friendly and have hearts of gold. Their understanding of the English language is impressive, and their desire to improve and prosper is something I have witnessed time and again.
Absolutely amazing to see Iraqi family to welcome you into their home. And treat you like one of their own. Just shows how nice their hearts are, when they are portrayed so badly in the media...Evan the soldiers at checkpoints so welcoming... just shows... lovely to see, well done mark for doing this ! 💯
As an Arab, this video has actually given me feels, the way you guys are surprised of the Arab hospitality, and how the media always plaints the Arabs poorly, as a Jordanian, thank you Mark for this video, I loved it
Not just Top Gear that had a similar experience in the middle east, but you too. Those people look like they have the biggest hearts, I'd love for this to be seen more in the mainstream. What an unbelievable trip ❤️
It's the best road trip video I've ever seen. When topgear do them, you always know there's a backup crew, with guards and fixers to ease their passage. You've all done yourselves proud.
Many moons ago, we used to drive lorries from the UK to loads of places down there. Before sat navs, if you broke down you needed to be a mechanic as well, as there wasn't anyone helping you fix the truck, no mobile phones, no breakdown service, no calling the boss for help. Spending days on border crossings.
Mark what a video mate. You and your team are amazing. The hospitality in Iraq looked amazing. I hope this breaks the internet. Very emotional watching this.
i am not surprised about the iraq people being so friendly. i had a few friends from there. they were the friendliest people i have ever met. from getting invited to eat with them after 5 minutes after meeting them to being so helpfull
Mark your channel has ended up being one of if not the best car content channels on yt. Fair play mate and thanks for all the videos you’ve been doing and some of the risks you’ve taken to make them. The scammers, thieves and now “dangerous” countries with car content involved along the way
Truly Inspirational, better than top gear, grand tour, fifth gear all in one truly phenomenal sitting - Congratulations Mark, Steve & Rhys 🎉🎉🎉 A lifetime of memories, an eye opener and a truly amazing accomplishment x
Unfortunately not everyone understands how corrupt the media is what a video well done mark me and my mate drove from Scotland to Belgium for the f1! We thought that was far! Enjoy ur Christmas with ur families u deserve it
First time meeting Muslims in their own country Mark? I used to work in the MENA(middle east, North Africa) for 12 years, for a region seemed to be stuck in perpetual war the people are very friendly and love hosting new friends. Further proof that normal, hard working people and families are subjected to war due to their government’s BS
Unfortunately almost all Muslims are born into Islam and are not allowed to convert out or choose not to practice Islam. It's entirely possible that all the nice Muslims are just religious victims held against their will and would choose to practice something kinder of the penalty of leaving wasn't death.
Poor guy in Iraq with the Range Rover wearing british plates is probably unaware that it was stolen from a home in the UK, mind you, he probably got a good deal!
I am from Iraq, and i wished I knew you came here to do my best to show you around, I liked the video and I wish if you consider doing more videos like this, you can make a series of each trip with more details
Can I just say this was the hardest trip from a UA-camr ever ... I've always thought about driving from Calais to China ... but all respect to you guys.... Taxi is the only vehicle you can do it !! Nissan Diesel!! Wahoo!
Mark this was on a different level to any car related content on the tube, I really hope word gets out about this adventure, love your take on life and the vibe that shines through with every video you post, but as said this is truly on a different level, congrats on this achievement ❤ and I’ll take this time to wish you and your family a merry Christmas beer 🍻
Mark, this was an amazing watch, mate. What would you say was your most memorable moment from start to finish? For me, after watching it all, it’s the people. The UK media often tends to cast some countries and their people in a negative light, but this really stood out in a positive way and I really do pray that others see this.
How awesome the way you was with the little boy at that family's house ❤ you are such a nice person a true legend in you tube land. Thanks for this awesome episode.
I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.
I know this lady you just mentioned. Evelyn Infurna Services is a portfolio manager and investment advisor. She gained recognition as a former employee at Goldman Sachs; a renowned investor she is. Evelyn Infurna has demonstrated expertise in investment strategies n has been involved in managing portfolios and providing guidance to clients.
I went from no money to lnvest with to busting my A** off on Uber eats for four months to raise about $20k to start trading with Evelyn Infurna. I am at $128k right now and LOVING that you have to bring this up here
Well the name is 'Evelyn Infurna Services. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
The more UA-camr who go to Iraq and are met with such great hospitality just shows how nice the people are considering the conflict for years from the west!
as much as it infuriating to be clickbaited like that, the video, was absolutely worth it. Simply loved it. And to my iraqi brothers, all the love and good wishes to this wonderful nation 🇮🇶🇱🇾
I'm a simark engineering type God....And a work with and around Mark and Rhys. And still can not believe the things they get up to.....Absolutely fair play to the three of you.
Well, the Iraqi border guy Amir (Emir?) seemed like a lovely guy. Was not expecting that. In my experience you'll never meet hospitality like you will in Arabic countries.
this was truly exceptional, hats off, Loved it. Having been to Baghdad it was truly one of the most friendliest places I had ever been, The only drawback being I now need a visa for the US but my god was it worth it
Amazing video! Love anything with a engine and love travel and this video shows there is so much to see and experience in the world. Don’t listen to the media and go see for yourself. Media only shows the bad never the good
I watch a channel called itchy boots and it's a women that rides her motorbike all over the world. She's in Iraq just now and the people there are lovely. Such nice kind people! The hospitality from them are next to none. Fantastic people
