Laaaame. Chris is not a good fit for CC. His vocals on the albums were great but Corpsegrinders live performances are way more brutal especially in both their early years. Also corpsegrinder is exactly what you think a death metal vocalist looks like
This is the best live version of this song iv'e came across on UA-cam. I was lucky to see CC in this year, and witnessed the best CC line up there's been. This will always be Chris Barnes anthem to me.
The bass solo was note for note, and matches up perfectly with the following rhythm. If you listen to the song, the tempo does go up slightly at the beginning of the solo.
@nickalocalypse yes , barnes voice is so fucking sickening, and malevolent. corpsegrinder is cool, but chris was like THE sadistic mother fucker of death metal vocalists. the way he introduces that song sounds like a completely deranged fucking maniac who has intent to kill somone, as opposed to some guy just singing gutteral with no true terrible intent. you get the feeling chris barnes ment alot of what he was saying , which made it so much heavier.
After Chris Barnes left Cannibal Corpse he opened Barnes and Nobel. If you look slowly during the slow legato breakdown part you can see Jim Carey slow dancing in the mosh pit
I can't tell what he's using in this video but I know that with this line-up recorded The Bleeding, he used an Ibanez Soundgear, and he used an Ibanez for Tomb. I don't know if he was using them exclusively or not.
Some thing inside me, It's, it's coming out I feel like killing... you! Let loose the anger Held back too long My blood runs cold ... etc, etc. Listen, it's not that hard tbf
saw cc with barnes so many times. 2 most memorable were riptide in jacksonville because i finally got to see grave live also. then saw them at deja vu in atlanta with sinister and some other bands (memorable because cynic was there and f'n awful except for the singer from demonomacy filling in)
mann they were so thinnnnnnn !!! pat, george and alex have grown some loaves of FLESH on their bodies nowww !!! whereas barnes remains the same to date ... I MEAN LOOK AT THEIR BASE-BALL BATS .. THEIR LEGS SO THINNNNNN !!!!!
as much as corpsegrinder kind of botches the lyrics live, i think his vocals fit the newer cc albums better. Barnes' voice works great for the older stuff though
Is it just me, but when the camera is backed up and capturing the whole band onstage, around 0:11 to 0:17, doesn't Jack Owen look like a skinny Pat O'Brien.??? I mean c'mon, the long straight hair, the Flying V, the long-sleeve shirt, and even his stage presence. I don't think I should be alone in feelings with this one. Especially with fellow Cannibal Fans surrounding...LOL
So true. All the live versions sound better, and the original is freaking amazing. This, Live Cannibalism, Global Evisceration et. al are a testament to the musical merit of CC and Death Metal.
This song plus a 68 hemi charger r/t equals enough speeding tickets to get you crucified or crash and burn before your tickets at 210 mph. Too tempting.
i never said "George over Chris and that's a fact" nor did i ever say that George is better than Barnes in making lyrics or for boosting CC's popularity. i just stated my opinion which was "i prefer Fisher's lung power over Barnes vocal range, even though i like them both." as in i prefer George's growls over Barnes. i did not mean to cause an unnecessary argument but i never said anything to cause one in the first place. that's why i stated it was just MY opinion... twice. have a nice day.
Chris Barnes kicks so much ass. While I love Corpsegrinder, Chris will always be my favourite CC frontman.
Necrophagist1999 Chris is monstrous
Laaaame. Chris is not a good fit for CC. His vocals on the albums were great but Corpsegrinders live performances are way more brutal especially in both their early years. Also corpsegrinder is exactly what you think a death metal vocalist looks like
The original and best.
That Webster fail #sheeeesh
It's songs like this that made me want to grow my hair long
Just do it
This is death metal.
I thought this was kpop
Katana2097 no POSSESSED SEVEN CHURCHES REALLY DMETAL
@@pepsi3885 eeeehhhh I'd consider seven churches pre-death tbh
i always wondered what 'Cookie Monster' ended up doing when Sesame Street wrapped...CC's Lead Singer...perfect!
There's ALWAYS milk and cookies at a Cannibal Corpse rehearsal! (aka former backup band for Bobby Vinton)
On the REALLY good-paying gigs they bring along the accordion player
I love how Barnes screams "hammer smashed face"
This is the best live version of this song iv'e came across on UA-cam. I was lucky to see CC in this year, and witnessed the best CC line up there's been. This will always be Chris Barnes anthem to me.
yeah Chris did a great job in CC. now go ahead and listen to the album Vile with Barnes and you'll get why he was kicked from the band.
0:24 ouch! Poor webster
The only mistake he has ever done.
Chris at 0:45 😂😂😂
You know a band is good when they sound better live than on the record.
You know a band is amazing when they release and album that sounds amazing and then somehow managed to sound 1000x better live
Is crazy how Chris is performing this song this well and he has a broken arm
He is growling because of pain.
Seen them in 92 was like putting a cd in.
Lucky mf
Barnes was on POINT here, shit.
On point with a broken arm
The bass solo was note for note, and matches up perfectly with the following rhythm. If you listen to the song, the tempo does go up slightly at the beginning of the solo.
que chingoneria esta alineacion de cannibal corpse aya en sus inicios de lo mejor del death metal
They Sound incredible!
After Chris Barnes left Cannibal Corpse he opened Barnes and Nobel. If you look slowly during the slow legato breakdown part you can see Jim Carey slow dancing in the mosh pit
Best Lineup.
Someone just needs a hug
Quite possibly the coolest song title.........EVERRRR. Think i will start a band and call it "HAMMER SMASHED FACE" or HSF
i miss Chris. :(
Oh my fuckin god this is amazing.
Webster screwed up a little bit at 0:26 on his solo, but he's still my bass hero
It sounds verygood for live performance.
Fucking awesome.Chris Barnes is THE MAN!
I just tore my house up in a one man mosh pit.
Barnes is my buddy leave him alone.
Barnes sound way more evil on this recording than on the CD... and I fucking love the CD version.
(Ace Ventura) -Excuse me is Greeck here?-

-Thank You-

@benjibala0 it's Barnes and the vid is a little distorted vertcially too, making them look taller and skinnier
@MultiBradleyW you right,,theres pros and cons to both singers.
this guy is better than george.
Look how awkwardly Chris is standing
He always did that.
dead kennedys logo on guitar
so rad.
Ibanez Sabre bass (sb 900?), check out the Gear Obsessed video and he talks about.
yah but theres a demo version of the album with barnes on vocals, they did like 5 with him then he left and they got corpsegrinder to do vocals
I can't tell what he's using in this video but I know that with this line-up recorded The Bleeding, he used an Ibanez Soundgear, and he used an Ibanez for Tomb. I don't know if he was using them exclusively or not.
0:24 fail bass
Carlos Angulo the only time in recorded history that Alex Webster failed
@@teamatfort444 right? lol
anyone else think Chris looks more badass here than he does now.
Probably my favorite Cannibal a Corpse song
My favorite death metal song and it's not even close.
Chris Barnes, inventor of the death growl
There were some before him…
Wait a minute i thought that was chuck schuldiner who invented that.
@@chrisgentry7242 Yes. But his voice is so high that it doesnt sound very growly. But Chuck is a legend death is my 3rd favourite band.
Glen Benton (Deicide) was the closest to Barnes depth at the time
Super!!!
оо круто, это же концерт в России!!!
thank you Jim Carey for recommending this song to me in Ace Ventura
THX
@MrPracticeRoom Doesn't matter, it's Alex Webster. The man could be playing a tennis racket on stage and it would still be awesome.
Some thing inside me,
It's, it's coming out
I feel like killing... you!
Let loose the anger
Held back too long
My blood runs cold
... etc, etc. Listen, it's not that hard tbf
Barnes!
i also liked that change
way better then corpseflownder
the vocals are fake
he smoked a lot of weed to be capable for doing the vocals
Chris Barnes's vocals are better but he's cheating
explain
@@bargoldstein4898 he only smoked weed for the high screams his lows are pure energy and are real
Corpse Chowder? That one sounds more like a cheap copy of cannibal corpse. In that case Chris Barnes got the munchies.
Im not too sure about that. the headstock def looks like an Ibanez but i cant tell from the body shape because the quality.
Google is your friend. It's not hard to type in "hammer smashed face lyrics"
Hey, does anywone knows wich bass Alex was playing at that moment?
saw cc with barnes so many times. 2 most memorable were riptide in jacksonville because i finally got to see grave live also. then saw them at deja vu in atlanta with sinister and some other bands (memorable because cynic was there and f'n awful except for the singer from demonomacy filling in)
2:56 Best part of the whole fucking song.
How the hell to they get that tone out of Marshalls?
mids
-mids-
+Miles Hodges Cutting the mids out and tuning down to D#.
Really easily
Chris Barnes at his best☠️🔥🤘
Webster with the 4 string. I wish more metal bands used 4 strings
i started seeing them at the bleeding many times since
3:37 Aaaaaaahhhh

It's actually an Ibanez proline v.
where's corpsegrinder!?
Alex making a mistake live, something that didn't happened since this day.
faaantaaaastiiiiic !!!!
Chris Barnes rules!!!
as much as corpsegrinder kind of botches the lyrics live, i think his vocals fit the newer cc albums better. Barnes' voice works great for the older stuff though
Post the whole show

Wtf is wrong wit corpsegrinder's way
Oh, okay.
0:46 THRIILLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
0:00-0:04 sounds like vegeta in the vegeta and nappa saga of dragon ball Z
I'd say Iron Man is bigger than Enter Sandman.
2:38 whose playing?
