Hi everyone!! I'm excited to share how I was inspired by the set on the TV show The Waltons and incorporated some of those elements into my own kitchen. I also made Olivia's Applesauce cake, and despite my original concerns, it gets better after sitting a couple days🙂 I hope you enjoy this video, and there is a blog post with photos and more details linked here: www.whisperingpineshomestead.net/2024/12/farmhouse-christmas-kitchen-inspired-by-the-waltons-2.html
Making another comment…I surprised an elderly woman years ago with a visit to the Waltons home. We were the only ones in the house and I put an apron on her and she pretended she was mixing up a cake! 😆 we had a blast! 🥮🎄
I am a new subscriber today, and find this video just enchanting and sweet… It looks like my home, so I feel very comfortable here… God’s blessing on you and yours! ❤️💚❤️
What an awesome kitchen!!! I'm brand new to your channel. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, born and raised not far from Schuyler, Virginia. I grew up watching The Waltons it was my favorite TV show. Audrey Hamner and I lived in the same hometown. I had the privilege of meeting her, and once I ran into her in the grocery store, we had a nice chat. I enjoyed meeting some of the cast members at the Homecoming Reunion in Lynchburg, Virginia. Oh, such great memories! Thanks for sharing❤
Hello from NJ!! I just discovered your channel an hour ago and had to leave a comment (which I never do) because I am in love with everything you shared 🥰 your home is beautiful, cozy, warm, inviting just absolutely stunning!! I can’t tell you how many times I paused just to admire and really take in your placement of everything, your attention to detail. The thoughtfulness you put in to making your home so welcoming and warm, and for me personally, using all the wonderful items you have in your family. I do that too with my Nanny Arvida’s beautiful items. Each time I look at or use any of her pieces I reflect on unforgettable memories with her ♥️ Thank you for sharing your home. It truly is magnificent. So, so happy I stumbled upon your channel 🤗
The Walton’s is one of my favorite TV shows. I watched years ago when it was a new series, and continue to watch the reruns. I love your Waltons inspired kitchen!
Thank you!! Funny enough, I didn't start watching it until a few years ago, and I just love the Appalachian connection, as well as the set design and stories🙂
How very beautiful your home is ! I am a great fan of the Walton's show. Watched when it first came out and still watch it every day in the reruns. I love the peaceful and calming nature of the show. The show got me through some tougher times in my life. May Christmas blessings be with you always. ❤🙏
New subscriber !!! I loved "The Waltons". Your home does remind me of their home. What a lovely home you have. I had tears in my eyes watching your video. I will need to catch up on your previous videos. You are a lovely person. ❤❤❤
A new subscriber from the South of England, well that was wonderful, thankyou for sharing your beautifully made home with us, just lovely, happy Christmas x
We had that same little plastic nativity I used for our village growing up I’d stick a Christmas light in the back at the top to light it up I loved it I think my sister has it now
Oh Anita! You’ve outdone yourself on this one. Thank you! You are such a beautiful gift, showing us what it means to be a Godly woman. The way you care for your family, home, animals, garden and belongings is beyond inspiring. The Walton nods are endearing along with your routine references to your precious relationship with your parents. You and your husband are so musically talented, I do hope we’ll get to hear you sing one day. God has blessed you and blesses us each time you share. ❤
The kitchen looks cozy and beautiful! I enjoy watching your Seasonal decorating especially the Homespun Christmas! Your cake looked delicious! Never get tired of watching the Waltons! I’ve had the Christmas dvd for many years. Your kitchen reminds me of a heartfelt hug. Thanks for sharing! 🎄🕯️☕️🥮⛄️❄️❤
When hubby an I went there a few years ago, I bought a bunch of recipes on large full page card stock ,even the recipe for " The Recipe"I collected so much memorabilia. I keep the recipe card stocks in my kitchen on recipe shelf.i did make the cake ,turned out great lots of ingredients and a strong arm
Oh my goodness, I don’t know where to begin, I love it all so much! You are so good at this - all of it - from your overall design down to the music. You are so gifted and your channel is my favorite by a mile. The pink transferware is so pretty and makes a stunning centerpiece on your table. I bet it mixes beautifully with your Wedgwood Queens Plain. I love the song your husband wrote and performed. I will watch this video again. Thank you. 🎄🙏
Just beautiful, Anita ❤❤ as always! Your home is so warm and inviting and comforting. Your videos by far bring the most pleasure and thank you for all your efforts and sharing❤❤❤ Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you so much! Yes, I'll definitely use the other recipe I linked if I try it again though, just becaause the added egg would keep it from being crumbly:-)
Everything looks so beautiful and ready for Christmas 🎄. Your video took me into my thoughts and brought me a few moments of peace. This year my daughter is extremely ill and I’m asking for prayers. Enjoy the Holidays ~ Janet 😘
Janet, thank you so much for sharing that with me... I will definitely be praying for her - for healing and comfort, and praying for comfort and peace for you🙏🙏🙏 Sending hugs, love and prayers❤️🙏
You've done a good job w/the Walton's kitchen. I live in a 1910 farmhouse on 80 acres. I have a vintage Hoosier cabinet, 1935 Frigidaire, a 1930's art-deco stove and a enamel table. The hardest thing to find was the fridge, I could've gotten a wooden icebox( like the Walton's) but, decided on a electric one. You should get a Hoosier, it would look nice. Love it all.
Thank you so much ! If I had room I would definitely get a Hoosier, but there's not enough space to the window, and I have been looking for a narrower icebox but they are never in my price range☺My mother still has a 1940s era fridge that belonged to my grandmother, but she also has several other refrigerators. That era fridge is not big enough for the cooking and canning I do🙂 Mother also has two of the enamel tables, (they also used a possum belly on the show in that spot,) but I really don't have room for that either. I've done what I could with the space I have🙂
@@WhisperingPinesHomestead I got lucky. We added on a family room to our house and we came right over to the kitchen and added on to that as well. So I got all this new space, and, I decided to make the new part look like a old kitchen, except the sink LOL!! I don't actually use the appliances, but, use them for display. We do use the enamel table, it has 4 matching chairs.
I found your channel only a couple of days ago. I am not easily impressed... but you've done it! I mean exquisite, truly. A beautiful home that's not a cookie cutter farmhouse cottage whatever. 😴 It's not my exact style, and that's part of why I love it. Not many seem to think for themselves anymore. It's just so refreshing. No "hey guys" or "let's get into it" or hand to the camera. Your channel will be huge! 🤗
No, I have seen a lot of videos and photos of the museum and how it’s set up there☺️☺️ John and Olivia‘s bed and breakfast there is based on the set follows a little more closely what the set actually looked like so I would sure love to visit that as well someday☺️☺️
Hi from Florida!! This is my first time seeing this channel, lovely peaceful video, where can I buy those candy canes, never seen them in Florida? Merry Christmas!!!🎄 🙏
Thank you! The one over the dining table is a late 1800s hanging oil lamp wired for electricity, but it can go back to oil easily. They one over the sink is just electric🙂
I would like to tell you I love your kitchen, this is my first time watching, love all of your bowls and such. But the main reason I wanted to comment is I have had a lid for a bowl for years waiting on the day I would find the bowl to match I think you bowl matches my lid. I don’t know how to add a picture
@@sandraford4235 I’m glad you shared that though because I had to do some research because I was wondering how late those were around, and I guess after the 50s they kind of went out as vinyl replaced that but I think I’ll ask Judy Norton on her channel if that was oil cloth because they may have been able to get one in the prop warehouse they had back in the 70s. But you definitely brought up something I hadn’t even thought of☺️☺️☺️

It has several of them in their talking. I don’t remember all all of them. I’d have to go pull it out.

Thank you!! On the set in the 1970s it would have been plastic:-)

Your home is beautiful and beautifully decorated. Please give the chickens a bigger coop to live in. That seems so small. 🐓😢
Their coop is plenty big. You just literally saw one small access door on the inside. And they free range all day.
I sent you a picture of the lid on you Facebook page
Thank you! Yes, it's very similar to mine🙂
I can see anything.
Well that would be a problem on your end not mine. So I’m not sure how to help you.
