I met the mangaka in Granada a few years ago for a convention and I guarantee you, that man thinks Yuno can beat anything, its his personal Mary Sue, cool guy tho and very nice person as well. So I have 1st hand tell on his toughts about Yuno.
Dude, you got things wrong, the anime wasn't adapting the manga... It was a *sequel* to the manga. Remember that scene right at the start of the anime where Yuno just murdered someone? That was the last chapter of the maga. They tried to do the same thing as Evangelion to atempt to make cross media retells of the same history in to cannon event timeloops but it actually didn't work for neither of the shows.

Mirai Nikki is honestly one of those shows people love to bash on, but it's like a train wreck in slow motion, it's so damn hard to turn away from from it's sheer absurdity. I personally think of it as a good B budget film, (think things like Sharknado), It's not as bad as the worst the industry has to offer, I mean hell we got seventeen season of sword art after all. XD
I was chatting with some guys over discord and they got bored and started doing a waifu tier list. Our rule was everyone gets 1 S-tier. Bro put Yuno up there. we were 3/1 on this man. Absolute outrage.
Honestly Like HS DxD It was made for a specific purpose. Future diary was for action packed. The sequel to the actual manga. It makes ZERO sense but thats the beauty of it. The main draw being yuno the entry portal for millenials to yanderes (kurumi from date a live for zoomer i guess).
Even though most of the story is nonsense and some of the climaxes are handled conveniently, Mirai Nikki still become one of the stone where all of the strangest stuff on the internet originated from, 2011 sure was a time to make everything popular, no matter the quality of it. I sure agree that the ending originally proposed in the anime was perfect for the build up of the story, but Yuno's godlike powers relevant only for the plot stopped this from keeping it that way ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌. (Also the reference to numoerous things like Lucky star, the out of touch thursday, school days, etc. were great lmao)
A lot of writers/artist will have an incredible premise, but a lack luster/poor ending. A good story needs more than a good premise to stand on two legs.
A message to this anime's fans! If you want to watch a badass pink haired girl taking care of a fragile purple boy just watch "Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san" and thank me later.

That anime died as soon as the first frame played 😭 I genuinely have no idea what the hell this anime is about even after watching full out explanations of it and it sounded like the creator of the video didn't know what the hell was going on himself... I rate it a "I have no idea what I'm watching but I'd probably like it if I was high"/10
What always gets me in these. God chooses a successor type stories is that it's always human-centric. I find it incredibly hard to believe that in a universe which can only be full of alien life writers never stop to consider why God would only choose humans to play part in this sort of game.
