I learned of Seborga from Hetalia, and recently came back into this hyper fixation wanting to know more about the actual history of said micronation. Your video was exactly what I was looking for, so thank you!
Good question! I found lots of clips of her on Italian television so I suspect she's reasonably popular. But it would be good to hear from an Italian...
@@FredoRockwell sorry for the late reply...Seborga is not that popular around Italy, a very large percentage of Italians do not even know about its existence...things change for people living in Liguria, the Italian region in which Seborga is located. Here people generally heard of it but not everyone knows all the facts that you mentioned in your video. While, for who knows more about Seborga, people sees it with curiosity and think it’s something “fun”. There is respect for the princess but her image is not that popular and she is not really recognised as a politician. 10:07 This is really strange coming from me because I'm not much a fan of dressing down, but I really like the idea of the princess in the t-shirt. I think that should be her official attire. I think it's really cool, it makes you do a double-take, draws attention.
@@FredoRockwell you should come up when they do there summer festivals everyone is at the top of the hill, playing music and dancing and the food was amazing.
Pricess Nina won the election at the debate in the town square. I was there, I don't speak a word of Italian and could tell by the crowd and her poise that she won.
Wow, what a great story - thank you for sharing that! Were you in Seborga on that day by chance, or did you come especially to watch the events unfold?
Actually this came up in my email exchange with Mr Pagani. He mentioned that it is said to have happened but didn't know any detail. As he is the foreign minister that made me think the evidence is a bit shaky on this. The problem is without documentary evidence from the time it would be difficult to prove. I doubt the Burkina Faso government would confirm this today.
Sure, many nations can be like Seborga. Anthem, motto's, population, etc. The only differences is that.. Not only do they have quite literal political works, and a police force, they are locked in history! Being hundreds of years old.
Yes, they do something - but what exactly the limits of their activities are I'm not so sure. Here's a Flikr album with lots of pictures of them: www.flickr.com/photos/principatodiseborga/albums/72157643833710793
Seborga do have a national team that competes in CONIFA, the international football federation for federations that are not eligible for FIFA membership.
@@FredoRockwell Sure! Thanks for reply sir. First I want to say I really like you made this video about Seborga. Quality video with very good information. (every once in a while I check for new Seborga videos, lol) . But second I disagree with you what you say at 16:09 . The joke is their historical claim is pretty strong and that is why they (the Seborgians) take this to the max. Without the "medieval paperwork" this would have been a cheap trick I think. Also very good by the way that you mention Malta knight independent country / office building .... lol Not a lot of people know about that.

I agree, especially a t-shirt with the national cost of arms on it!
I live in seborga, the people are friendly and there very welcoming and they don't have a problem with any outsiders coming in and live.
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing that. I hope to visit Seborga soon!

This one is not a micronation but a microstate
