And I thought "Tunnels" couldn't be topped. I was so wrong. This is my favorite on the album. It came completely out of nowhere. The first "official" acoustic AVA song. Absolutely fucking brilliant.
This album arrives 5 days after a decade long relationship ended. I really needed this. Thank you.

Heaven and Love Like Rockets are the top two for me. The Disease and Tremors are good contenders, though.

I think the fact that it's short is one of the reasons why it's good. It says what it needs to and gets out quickly and you're left amazed and feeling touched -- powerful music.

+Noah Sherman Exactly what it sounds like. They layer two tracks of him singing the song on top of each other to make it sound more full without adding harmonizing parts. It helps keep the song sounding simple, but full and pleasing to the ear.

Hot fucking damn. This is easily the best song on the album and one of AVA's best yet. It's so simple and catchy. It's almost too short.
I feel like this may be a song from Tom's point of view as if he's singing to his daughter. The tone of voice he uses in this song almost has a more innocent tone to it, one you'd think of one using to speak to a younger child with. I think he's questioning how she may see him as a father since he probably does not have the time to be around home much. He's wondering how much of a part of her life he is, and when she's older, if she will think of him as a good father. And I think he really wants to be there for her, more than she knows. "A Sad Discovery" as in the older she gets, she may discover more and more how much of a "not so normal" life Tom's career has probably caused her. And how she will think of him for it.
This view on the song blows my mind. It makes it so much more meaningful than I ever thought.

so nice to hear a song from tom this simple and stripped down to mostly just guitar and vocals. this is by far my favorite off the album. This totally fits with a lot of stuff Mark did with +44. they talk about how different they are but the area they cross over is pretty special. so with all that said, i totally agree with whoever it was that said they wished he would have done this song with blink.
This morning I was thinking about the same thing, how much some songs has kinda the + 44 vibe but staying in the AVA field, not saying that is a bad thing but how cool is that, I think now mark and tom (and travis) can accomplish something special with the new Blink-182 record
