There are more connections between Trump and Obama as well. One of them being that Obama was a larger than life personality cultivated "from within" the party machine. "Trump woke up in the middle of the night and stopped a US navy attack on Teheran"...Trump was the one that gave the order to attack 😂. If Yanis had even half of Bernie's political intuition, Mera25 wouldn't be out of Parliament.
Comparing USA political things and Greek ones is literally the stupidest thing i have ever read in yt. Political scene and how a party gets to be in the pariliament is pretty different in these two countries. One is an imperialist country, the mother of capitalism and a world power (i guess still the first one until the dolar falls off) and the other is a small country with no power enough to even be independent.
@@REd-ru5ce well it's a good thing literally no one is comparing the two then. I'm saying Varoufakis' understanding of how to build a political movement in any country, be it Greece or US is shit.
@@Alexed.w Well, movements usualy are not built by a politician or even a political party. On the contrary, Parties should be built by movements. In this case parties can have ties to the rest of society and not being cut off, like it is happenng thought USA history. Also, mera25 in Greece was never a huge party. Even when it was in the parliament it only had small numbers. What they were saying from the stance was against the local oligarchs who own the media, who own the oil and ships and the distribution of energy and who own even the teams. No wonder they never appear in the biggest media channels. Also, Varoufakis alone was thown so much dirt on 2015 which was based on stupidly false propaganda. Ofc he did mistakes. Also one thing, you have to understand that you actually did compare two different situations. A political persons actions are in accordance to the political field hes playing on. Bernie is playing in the USA political scene and Varoufakis in a completly different. Ofc their actions cant really be compared without putting them in context.
I'm surprised they both still respect Bernie Sanders 😂 Bro ended up squandering his own movement, telling his supporters they should vote for the very people that robbed him (twice) instead and turned into a clown 😂 Edit: Yanis seems to think this was merely a "mistake" by Bernie. I'd argue that it was not. The fact that he allowed himself to be robbed and sidelined twice, regardless of having a massive progressive following, and the fact that he extracted zero concessions from the Democratic Party in return for sheepdogging all that progressive support into them, suggests that Sanders was always a ruse. Sanders' political insignificance and flacidity today can largely be attributed to the progressive movement figuring him out and having these very same suspicions. He squandered a prime opportunity to coalesce a real rainbow movement behind him and eventually those who initially looked to Bernie, moved on to Trump, who actually looked to have strength and political courage.
What on Earth are you on bro. How can man be a ruse and be a public figure and elected politican with a populist/socialist platform for like 50 years or smh.
@@planettrax9754 he's a ruse because when he had a serious opportunity to become president and enact his espoused social democracy policies but he somehow lacked the courage of his convictions and asked his supporters to go against their principles twice... was my first post not clear as to why he was a ruse? 😂
