WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU. I'VE BEEN WATCHING ALOT OF YOUR VIDEOS. I RECENTLY HAD SOME BLOOD CLOTS BEHIND MY KNEES AND HAVE TEMPOARILY LOST MY ABILITY TO WALK. YOUR TRUCKING VIDEOS HAVE BEEN A PLEASANT DISTRACTION. THANK YOU
Drove a 48 pass. bus in the Canadian prairies ( southern Sask. prov. ) & the locals stated it was the coldest winter they had for 30 yrs ! Some buses were parked in a big building but a lot of time I had the stick shift bus with such a hard clutch to push in. My left leg would start to shake if the light was red too long. Would even have to take it out of gear & just hold the brake down & let the clutch out to give my leg a rest. But even though this is 40 yrs ago remember it like it was yesterday. It was 30-40 below & Zi started the bus up. After 10-15 minutes warming engine up still there was not very much heat in the bus. And for the first mile the bus felt like it had square tires. Finally the cold tires would get perfectly round again & there was no longer a bumpy ride.In my car that same winter I put my feet on the plastic floor cover & it broke into 3 pieces !!! A late greeting "Merry Christmas" to you & your loved ones. Seen an interview with VP Mike Pence & he stated Pres Trump has given his life to Christ ! Trucking can be exhausting as it's not just the driving as there are so many other details that encompass this demanding job. I too would want to get extra rest & just unwind & rebuild one's energy during home time. God bless & keep shining the Light of Christ as our God is real & alive. He loves each & everyone of us & He can forgive any sin ( but we must pray to Jesus & ask for mercy ) that's the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil & save us sinners. Heaven will be 1 billion times better than hell.Keep safe & eat healthy.
NO, JOHN. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME AND PUTTING IN THE EFFORT TO FILM YOUR WONDERFUL VIDEOS FOR US TO VIEW. YOU TRULY ARE MY FAVORITE TRUCK DRIVER ON UA-cam. TAKE IT EASY IN THIS FRIGID WEATHER WE ARE HAVING AND ALWAYS BE SAFE OUT THERE. PEACE!!!
A friendly piece of advice. In a situation like gelling up its better to let the truck idle. If you idle it up it's trying to force thick fuel thru the filters.
Hello JBG I love your videos you are great!!! I am one of yor fans... I am a surgeon and haver never rode a truck but I'm so in love with USA midwest scenery that you show us... Greetings from my country Venezuela!!! and BTW you don't bore us with your chat!!
Hey John this is Billy, see you still driving. Last time we saw each other was the Ohio turnpike plaza in 99. Been off the road since 2000, now working in a brick and mortar. Have a happy new year and keep safe out there.
Years ago when i was working at Johanna Foods We had straight trucks and tractors In the winter time engines plugged in (Electric heaters) we had heat up the oil pans with torches and many problems with fuel gelling Keep warm my friend
I live down in Texas. Had bad experiences driving in snow. Please do a video on how to drive in snow and how to use your judgment or what different type of weather words mean for road conditions. This may Apply to cdl or even regular drivers. Thanks
Love your videos JBG hope you had a great Christmas mine was great goes way to fast as always glad Baby Blue started for you hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation can't wait for more of your awesome videos.
Great words of wisdom John. Prevention is better than cure. Like you say, better to spend $16 on additive than the cost of a break down truck. Not to mention the wait at the side of the road. Have a great new year.
I love the curbside video The exhaust you see is a heat that's how you can tell how cold it is a Comment Power Service is great to use And where you get your fuel they should have a winter bend so the fuel wont gel
Im glad you were able to get some much needed rest John. Dont worry about not posting any videos, we understand. Wise choice to add anti gel fuel additive. And oh yeah..WOW THATS COLD!
JBG no apologies needed. Your health and well being are a priority, seriously. You don't have to obligated to film. And yes that is extremely cold man. I feel for you. If we had that temperature here in El Paso, it would be a plumbers wish come true. Stay toasty JBG.JRH.EPTX.
Hey JBG hope you had a great Christmas. Seen on TV that your home country of the Philippines had a bad time of it over the holidays and my heart goes out to them. I also hope that any family you have over there are safe and well.
I authorize you to take off next Tuesday, Jan. 2nd as well, seeing as how it's my birthday. Now the boss may have other ideas and he signs the checks...oh well I tried. Peace.
When you see diesel exhaust steaming like that you know it is cold cold, anyway jbg the heater saves from death my friend w/o the heater inside your cab would be just as bad as outside w/o the wind chill but still cold enough to put you to sleep.
Your mistaken about the windshield. It consists of three layers. 1/8th glass followed by a thin clear membrane then another 1/8th of glass. The membrane helps the glass crush in a safe way. Later.
Living in Sydney Australia seeing all the snow is a real treat. Our climate is the same as Los Angeles CA but quite humid in January-February. Have you ever heard of Chick Tracts ?
John as an old truck driver but a recent subscriber I see how hard you run and do a great job! Hope your bosses appreciate the good job you do for them and also they do for you.
I just started watching your videos. Now I am hooked. Your truck is 😎What make? Looks like a freight liner or a kensworth. Can’t tell. Love your videos. Btw, does the apu give you an120vac plug inside or does it just give you morn12v outlets?
welcome and thanks. Babyblue is a cascadia 2012 10 speed manual. APU hasn’t been working for 6 months or so. it’s only 12 volts but there’s a inverter 1500 watts under the bunk
JBG TRAVELS I have been binge watching your videos. They are awesome content and all of the other trucker vlogs have lots of swearing and stuff like that. I like that it is a manual. It is a more satisfying thing than an automatic. I love your videos. Keep up the good work! 🙂
Sue Collins the AAA doesn't mess with big trucks. I locked my self out of my truck once and called them and they said that they do not do Class 8 vehicles IE tractor trailers. Had to wake up another driver from the company that I worked for to use his key to get in my truck.
Hello jbg and blue. Look like cold blue come on blue that good . Good blue . I mail out tnat this am for you and blue to the po box . Let me no when you get it hope so. I mail it to your po box . Come on blue he wont more rest . Be good out there. Ronald .
HARD STARTING: You said you are putting in a diesel additive. Super Trucker Dan uses (Howes Diesel) and that fuel additive comes in the gold half gallon bottle for winter fuel, he drives and owns a 2015 Peterbilt with a PACCAR engine pulling a flat bed, gross at 80,000lbs, he’s OTR. Dan says at the truck stops the additive he uses costs $20.00 but at Walmart or Amazon it only costs $9.98, see this at ua-cam.com/video/zRCJ-JmJAn4/v-deo.html @ 12.30 on the scale his video #190. Dan’s been driving 30 years plus and has yet to have fuel issues other than dirt in the separator and a bit of power loss but that truck was his older one I believe it was over 9 years old. (The latter is not an advertisement from me or Dan) is was a random segment in is video. This is my opinion: Also, if you have a block heather that helps. What I think also really helps is a "generator or APU" because the running generator will circulate the coolant thru out the trucks engine and cooling system because it uses the truck's coolant too. I can't imagine being a trucker and not having a Generator for TV, refrigerator, heat, and air conditioning. Leaving the engine idle when parked uses a lot of fuel while the generator uses very little and does so much. Other truckers and me believe the fuel savings, and wear and tear on the truck pays for the generator in a few years. That is my take on the cold weather subject LOL. Did you see my fart joke on FB via your page, it got a lot of likes at your expense. May I offer my sincere apology, but it's so funny I couldn't take it down and I guess you didn't care either because you didn’t take it down. Anyone that knows you, that has watched your channel, can't help but feel friendly towards you and appreciative, I know that stands for me. I know you also have a great sense of humor. Sometimes sleeping like that at home after being away, is a way of your body readjusting itself, and I would assume regenerating. I would imagine it would be hard to totally relax, even when in your bunk, because you have dead-lines to meet and more driving ahead, I think that lays subconscious in your mind. I think at home you are more relaxed without the above on your mind, and that is rejuvenating and the added relaxation is probably why you sleep so much at home. For myself, I can work like crazy, even in the cold but when I come inside and sit down, I go out like a light so to speak, sometimes I don’t even realize I fell asleep and still have my computer on my lap (it’s on a board to prevent overheating) and my reading glasses on lol. At least that is my explanation for it, so don’t be too hard on yourself. From what I see as a Dad and Husband, you have been there 100% for your family. At least that is my opinion and I’m a pretty smart guy, LoL.
What you said around the 8 minute mark John....... You push yourself too much ! You need to work in a more disciplined way..... and your boss needs to also appreciate that. cold starts are when you know your truck loves you or not ha ha ha God bless JBG
it was a bit scary.. but she pulled through

Hey JBG hope you had a great Christmas. Seen on TV that your home country of the Philippines had a bad time of it over the holidays and my heart goes out to them. I also hope that any family you have over there are safe and well.
yeah 😭
I heard somewhere that adding Alcohol to the air lines keeps them from freezing up. No idea if it is true or not.
I authorize you to take off next Tuesday, Jan. 2nd as well, seeing as how it's my birthday. Now the boss may have other ideas and he signs the checks...oh well I tried. Peace.
advance happy birthday Joe
DAMN IT'S COLD!!!!! Poor girl, she want's to be warm.
Very good Johnny !
I love the cold starts! -kyle hunt
sergei uses snowplow oil in his truck. helps cold starting a lot
When you see diesel exhaust steaming like that you know it is cold cold, anyway jbg the heater saves from death my friend w/o the heater inside your cab would be just as bad as outside w/o the wind chill but still cold enough to put you to sleep.
happy new year from Saltash Cornwall
Shouldn’t suffer from expansion until you’re like a lot colder than that if ever. Sounds like your coolant mix was off to begin with.
Your mistaken about the windshield.
It consists of three layers. 1/8th glass followed by a thin clear membrane then another 1/8th of glass.
The membrane helps the glass crush in a safe way.

Sue Collins the AAA doesn't mess with big trucks. I locked my self out of my truck once and called them and they said that they do not do Class 8 vehicles IE tractor trailers. Had to wake up another driver from the company that I worked for to use his key to get in my truck.
How long u been driving 18 wheeler?
1991
minus 6? Wow that is really cold. It would be minus 21°C here in Germany and that is not very often.
How come they don't use additive for Fuel in the Winter?
Frank Irwin the major truck stops put it in the fuel once it's under 30 degrees.
Frank Irwin I don't trust them so I buy the anti-gel additive
I always use antigel in diesel trucks helps allot
When it's that cold you need to be adding that additive man.
nope not for me..was working over the holidays getting more money lol..glad to see babyblue running again
Hello jbg and blue. Look like cold blue come on blue that good . Good blue . I mail out tnat this am for you and blue to the po box . Let me no when you get it hope so. I mail it to your po box . Come on blue he wont more rest . Be good out there. Ronald .

Don't apologize you have no need to do so. You need time off too. Your NOT Superman! Glad you got the rest you needed and had a good family time.
thanks Chris
Without the windshield, your wind chill would be -43 degrees.
Hop on the Lake Express and come visit :)
