I love Milton, especially when he utters things about burning down the building
This movie, along with Lebowski, are two of the finest comedies ever made, going back 100 years in movies. In fact, they'd have to be in the TOP 100 of all comedies. Fine work by all actors, director, writers, set and wardrobe designers. The movie caught exactly what it had intended. Great job all around. A fine piece.
Those guys had roles of a lifetime.
I was working in corporate cube farm Hell when I stumbled upon this movie, and my first thought was, "Holy shit, they've secretly been filming my workplace!" Love, love, love this film, and even though I've seen it dozens of times, it is funny each time I watch. Thanks, guys, for making such a funny comedy.
Milton's character is the reason I've had a red stapler on my desk for a couple decades now... and the reason swingline made a red stapler in the first place. They never made on before Office Space, it was a unique movie prop. Thanks Milton! :)
milton & lumberg: possibly the most genius comedy team since abbott & costello or laurel & hardy
One of the best things to come from this movie? Red staplers! Swing Line didn't even make a red stapler until this movie became popular. They painted Milton's stapler red for the filming.
Ironically, they had to paint the stapler red in order to avoid having to pay Swing Line a royalty, specifically because red Swing Lines didn't exist.
Stephen Root is a genius actor, without him in "Office Space", i don't what u would do.
One of the best movies ever! I remember watching this movie the first time at the part early in movie, where all employees showed up for work first thing Monday morning. Totally gave me the same, eery, depressing feeling going into the office first thing Monday morning knowing I had five days to work before next weekend!
Steven Root was again memorable in a few episodes of "Justified."
I love Stephen Root. He's just about the only celebrity I actually would like to meet.
We need more movies like this
Stephen Root sounds ever so slightly like Kevin Smith
Peter David omg he does!
Good catch! I knew something was sparking in my mind, but the thought never fully formed.
I have watched Office Space twice last weekend.
Steven Root was awesome in Office Space, but my favorite character he did was as Jimmy James on News Radio. Great actor!
He really is.. He played a judge on Justified too and was amazing.
easily my favorite character in Newsradio
0:27 Peaked? Peaked, Stephen? Let me tell you somethin', DVD's haven't even begun to peak, but when they do peak, you'll know. Because they're gonna peak so hard, that everybody in Philadelphia's gonna feel it.
Eyyy The Hoax Hotel is here!
Also, since I'm in Philadelphia I guess I will feel it!
you know i've been scrolling too much on youtube when i find a 5 year old comment from the hoax hotel
"Excuse me, you took my stapler"...!!!LUMBERGH!!!!
I'm glad I stumbled upon both this and The Shawshank Redemption (first release) in the theatre. Both excellent movies that apparently many didn't discover until DVD. Loved them both from the get go! :)
"It was very 'Miltonesque.' " - Stephen Root
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm gonna have to say that it's one of my fave movies
Love this movie own it on blue ray😊
EXCELLENT ACTORS NEVER GIVEN A BAD PERFORMANCE
I saw this movie while in college before I started working and thought it was humorous but didn't really connect with it. It wasn't until I watched it years later while I was working in an office that I realized how truly great it was.
Apparently he was let go 5 years ago, but no one told him about it.=)
Years later people still buy red swingline staplers because of this movie, all the reviews (like literally 100%) reference this movie. Brilliant
Stephen Root is funny as hell.
1:20 "I have no skill whatsoever at working in an office" - isn't that a GREEEAT asset for playing Lumbergh? Because the character also has no skill whatsoever at office work. :)
Ragnemalm and those are the folks who get promoted!
Wow, Mr. Root sounds much different than I was expecting.
he is a genius seriously what a character he played,Bravo!! Milton FTW!!!
Gary Cole's voice is deep last time!
Need a "Office Space" sequel somehow, someway.
Jeneral J.U.-ICE No. they will fuck it up
No they don’t. Leave well enough alone.
yeaaaah... That's be greaaat...
Hey, It's Bill Dauterive!!!!
i still have the vhs :D:D
Yeah ... thanks for giving your insights. That was great.🤔
@Frontierblues yeah one of the few movies I felt worth buying on dvd
Went to Disneyland once and the Mark Twain riverboat was docking and the "Captain" got on the loudspeaker and did an impersonation of Gary Cole's Bill Lumbergh... Yyyyeah, we'll be docked soon, so could you just step back a little bit. Yyyeah, that would be great. I didn't see if he had a coffee cup glued to his hand or not though. 🤣
Thank Comdey Central.
in 1999 it found its life on the PC, many of us seen this by getting copies @ LAN parties.
I wonder if the're making a second Office Space......... That would be grrrreeeat!
@ooberjack Actually, Stephen Root IS Bill Dauterive.
Hank Hill usually says "Got dang it" to Bill and Dale, LOL.
lol
That vacation did him good
It's hard to believe that Bill Dautrieve and Jimmy James were played by the same person. Talk about versatility.
that must be very funny evening
Both in Dodgeball as well!
milton and lumburgh
I love this movie. It made me lazy. It made me appreciate doing nothing as long as I’m content.
I don't think DVDs peaked in 2000. More like 2010. I'm sure Office Space sold a few million copies.
I never knew he said that he'd set the building on fire.
1:05
True
People would pass the DVD or VHS around at work.
Gary Cole looks exactly like John Carmack, lead programmer of id Software.
"Uh-huh.... that sounds grea... ok milton... "
Yay Stephen Root! - Klingon captain!
Top 3 Stephen Root's Roles
1st Bud Gleeful
2nd Bubbles
3rd Frank
the official Office Space tour. www.austinfilmtours.com
Aka William Fontaine Delatour Dautrieve
More??
mmmm yeah
Did you….get the memo?
Stephen Root sounds like Tom Hanks
LOL good old topsy from King of the hill
Just ask yourself 'Will this be good for the company?'
Stephen Root probably didn't get cake at the Christmas party, just like Milton at Lumbergh's birthday party.
@jcgamer107 I thought it was Kevin Smith too!
My wife hates that I quote characters from this movie all the time!
Must be like “a case of the Mondays” everyday for her living with ya 🗣️🎬🤪🤣😂✌️
i belive you got my stapler
@jcgamer107 He totally does. I was just thinking that :O
jimmy james!!!
Give him the stapler back!
I could set fire on this building 😄😄
Dag-gone-it Bill
OK, it didn't need DVDs.. just word of mouth... milestone / excellent actors culminating in some sort of wonder! Seriously don't analyze, just N-joy!
WTF Milton must be the greatest actor of all time
all Gary Cole had to to do become Lumberg was change his shirt
metoo!!
@PhUTube4Evah No, it was married.
Jennifer Aniston. Nuff said.
Took a stapler off my desk.
omg thats milton!?! lol
@Frontierblues and no Im not a cheapskate its just that I seldom find movies entertaining to watch more than once
@PhUTube4Evah dude put on the damn subtitles and see for yourself.
@ethen24 Dude I laughed at your comment for literally 1 minute strait. xD
Seeing Milton acting normal is weird...
first...who gives a shit, love office space.
It’s Bill lumber and Bill dautrieve
