the problem that you're having is that youre not connecting the fuselage with he pilot part, the game will automatically delete parts that are not connected as it sees it as not needed also, you can change the units of measurement in the settings ive had early access to the game for over 6 months and this hurts to watch lol

@swiss001 The game is devloped by one guy and he is updating and fixing bugs every day its really good for a early alpha game . i would say better than most early acces games .This game workes out of the box . I got the game the day it realesed and i play it on a lap top and it workes great . I recomend the game to every one .
For a more experienced display of the building system in Flyout checkout the Messier82 UA-cam channel, he mainly does fighter jets but he really knows what he is doing with the plane designer.
