Happy Father's Day 2024 from all at ASWB

Autism Society West Bengal (ASWB) is a parent-initiated NGO working for the education, skill development and empowerment of individuals with autism over 21 years. ASWB is based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. ASWB actively participates in autism awareness events and champions for the rights of individuals with autism to participate in areas of education, employment & social events. Parenting is a difficult job and parenting special needs child is even more difficult. But this parenting is enriching as children with special needs often change the perspective of life for parents altogether. Many parents have said that they have become more accepting and tolerant because of their autistic child. Some parents have said their autistic child has taught them to savour and appreciate the small yet important moments of life. Parents said they live in the moment more instead of thinking of the future. On the occasion of Father’s Day on 16th June, 2024 ASWB gives thanks to all the fathers and anyone else who have taken on the role of a father through this short video. The video was made by ASWB special educator, Ms. Ankana Haldar with the pictures and videos of the students of Dikshan & trainees of Aarohan units of ASWB with appropriate support from the special educators and caregivers of ASWB.
