I bought the same bike last year, now have 1500 miles on it. It reminded me of my old Yamaha TX500. I've received a lot of positive comments on the looks of this bike. It does lack a little power but once you get past the 1000 mi mark you can feel the torque really kick in at 5000 rpm. Anyway, I really have enjoyed watching your videos, especially since we have the same bike and see the shifting , turn off the turn signal and the engine sound, like being there. Thanks for the videos, especially when I can't get out. You are right, it is addictive.
I have one. 99% of the time it starts first kick. I'm an old guy (67) and while I have bigger faster bikes this is my "good old days" fun bike. I ride it a lot just because it's so damn fun.
This is the best Way of the perfect cruising and sight seeing of Landscapes...a light bike with an nice little thumping sound! I never feel the landscapes so clear and near, how just like with this little "big" Bike...i drive the same bike since 3 Years and i love it more and more with every thump! Great vids, Alter ;-)
I can't believe that air cooled motorcycle in 2019. I quit my riding 1996 with my 1994 virago 1100. I really don't like water cooler bike's I will buy sr 400 love that starting pedal. Great view and video.
Hello from Russia, from Tula town, town of hero, town of great weapon masters, homeland of samovars. Very good motocycle! Real classic! As well i like 2t USSR and czechoslovak classical motocycle (Voshod, IZH, Minsk, Jawa). Beautiful steppe landscape, beautiful motorcycle. I hope I visit America, I want to see how ordinary labor people live there.
Got the same bike (my first) in early November 2017.. being in the northeast didn't have much time with her until I had to store it for the winter. Thanks for the videos, itching to get back out there in a few weeks!
How are these around say 55 to 65mph? And are they decent for 2 up riding? Id like to occasional take the missus for a ride around the back roads near where we live
Do the handlebars vibrate much at cruising speed?? And what is cruising speed on that bike? Will it do 70mph? And at what rpm ? I haven't found a good review on youtube that goes into detail.
I did a 2 hour ride to RI to see family a week ago. it's my first bike so no real reference for how buzzy it is, but after I got home I did notice my hands had that 'tingly' feel to them. fastest I went was 85 (not redline), mostly stayed around 70 though. I think it was cruising around 5500 rpm but I wasn't paying enough attention to that to remember right. got about 70mpg at that speed! the low fuel light comes on with about a gallon left in the tank. it was my first time going that fast and it was super windy (from the speed and the weather)
Im 6ft 210 ibs with 30” inseam. Only dealer in our country is not allowing any potential buyer to test or even sit on it unless you go to an expo where they are in display. Visually it is small but i checked the w250 where the kawasaki lets you sit all day if you want and i feel ok with it. In spec sheet, the sr400 is bigger than the w250 but visually its bigger maybe its bigger tank, wider seats, fatter tires it gives the w250 a bigger look,. The w800 is out of my budget and feels really heavy when i move it side to side.
@@DARisse-ji1yw at least it can still start with a nearly dead battery. when I got mine it had been bouncing around the country in shipping for several months and it was very cold out. the neutral light only very dimly lit. took maybe 20 kicks to start but that's also the first time I kickstarted a bike so my technique was probably bad too. I've been riding it every day recently and it only ever takes 1 or 2 kicks to go
@@seanlyder3023 Thank you. This is my bro. Diagnosed terminal brain cancer Dec 2019. He's a badass warrior. The disease has taken its course. Now on hospice. He's at peace. Your well wishes are well received by my family. Ride on and enjoy every moment of it. ✌
Hi Paul - thanks for asking. SR400 California is my bro. He's not been well since Dec 2019 when he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He's a badass warrior and gave it REALLY good fight but the disease has run its course and he is now on hospice. He is at peace. 🙏, well wishes and positive thoughts welcomed. To all riders, ride on and enjoy every moment of it! ✌
THANK YOU for not putting music to this. Loved watching and hearing the bike. Thumbs WAY up!
Big thanks knox

Only 1500 Miles? lol
Trailsailor, I used to have an XT500. Does the 400 engine feel much less torquey? I am thinking of buying an SR400 in Thailand.

Calif has the best back roads to go on. Basically endless.
That is smooth. Purrs like a cat.
Are you ok there? I see you was in hospital. Hope you are good.

They do vibrate quite a bit depending somewhat on RPM
exactly what i wanted to see when i just searched "sr400". almost makes me regret buying an xsr700!
thank you very much
What a lovely ride
thank you
love the sound of a thumper
mic is under seat thank you very much
I want to buy it as my first bike, will it handle frosty days ? And also some of freeway speed for travelling from country to country ?

I'm your hight and weight with the same inseam. I have a blast on mine. I have bigger faster bikes but the SR400 is my "good old days" fun bike.
Cant wait to get mine next year
its been a year. did you get yours yet?
What is the sound before starting the engine? SR400 I know does not sound like that ...
Fuel pump. Fuel injected.
So kick start only, but still needs a battery ....

I see they are pulling the SR400 and other models, to make them more emission safe. as this bikes are being built in Japan.
I love the bike. Just wish they would have gave it a 500 or two Cylinder 400
Jason Capriotti
What is the sweet spot for this 400?
Royal enfields tend to fall apart at around 60 mph 🔧🔨
Did you feel weird kickstarting fuel injected bike. Or how they did it
? just kick and it starts. unlike a carbed bike you *don't* want to give it throttle until after it's running
is it ok for Taller riders?
yes it is

Just bought same bike, a 15 SR400 with 15 miles on it. 25 degrees here, your videos are helping me be patient. Is that a stock exhaust?
stock exhaust, microphone is under seat
1st class.
Are the bars and exhaust aftermarket?
All stock
what's your longest day in the saddle? milage
2.5 hrs see chinese camp video
You can close the gas once in awhile man...let it roll...it can save gas too
The SR400 has a lot of engine braking being a big single. You need to maintain throttle.
My ride right now is a 2012 Honda Goldwing, But I'll been looking for an around town bike ( just click on dcijams)
I like the helmet. What is it?
Biltwell Gringo
can i inquire your body weight. Im 270lbs@6'4"
I suggest get the biggest ktm or bmw adventure bike possible.
What a great bike! I love thumpers. For the money id rather get an older Savage or S40.
超かっこいい!!

Put the camera on a helmet, speed is not felt. Good roads =)
