I like this. Bracelet is different. Body is different. Not boring. Good review! I don't always keep updated on watch reviews....because I can't always afford them. Lol
Thanks - I will try to have more affordable stuff on here :)
@PerthWAtch haha...this one is affordable....I just have to stop myself....watches are more addicting than cigarettes or alcohol!!
I tend to collect watches $300 and under because I'm hard on them and would cry if I messed up a $600 or more watch. :)
I don't like safe queens....so I wear them .
Keep the reviews coming brother, you do a nice presentation.
I watch you, Maverick, and Random Rob, when I can.
Haha ok I see, thanks 👍
Very attractive watch .
It’s not bad :)
Now if they had a nh38 in here, that would be perfect
Yes, that would indeed be better!
Unusual thankyou.
Haha welcome
That bracelet is funky
Haha yes it is
merkur is great
You have some?
@@PerthWAtch salmon piere paulin & top hill series manual wind also salmon dial
Nice choices!
i think the crows foot is a quality pass stamp from the tower of london back in the day.
But probably not in this case 😂
Good looking watch 👍 thanks Ivan nice review
Thanks James!
Would this watch look ok on a wrist size 6.25 inches without looking too big? In your opinion.
Probably ok but would depend on shape of wrist also… flatter wrist will always accommodate better
That second hand jumps!
Who? When??
@@PerthWAtch
The seconds hand jumped
2 minutes into the video. !
That’s literally called a “jump cut” 😂
@@PerthWAtch
Deal breaker in my book.
Don’t be silly… google “jump cut” mate 😂
The dial is nice enough, otherwise quite horrible. Thanks for the review
Oh dear… why horrible?
I am no lover of sand blasted cases, and don't really like the case shape. I also think that bracelet is particularly nasty. All that said, I would like to try a Merkur out some time@@PerthWAtch
Shame about the movement as it's the one thing holding me off from buying this one. If it was significantly cheaper or had a different movement (even a Seagul) I might have bought one.
Yeah I get what you mean and I agree - I even said so :)
One could say it’s a conundrum
With a more trustable movement would be a complete winner.
A trusty movement and a lower price haha
Is it called the CUM movement because it is energised by the rapid movement of your wrist? Ohh joke didn't work as it is a manual wind 😂
Don’t worry mate, there are automatic CUM which you can try this out on - let me know how you go!
A little pricey... Would have preferred to see a nh35 movement or similar. Otherwise it is a nice looking watch
Yep, that’s what I said
hello Ivan. good to see you again... this early of the week, ha ha. Normally you do this on Sunday, but today is Friday afternoon in Los Angeles. I am hoping that you will do another one on Sunday. Hoping too much? Ha ha. As for this watch, "iffy" comes to mind immediately. Everything about it is "iffy". Of course the movement, iffy. as military watch, "iffy" weak & cheap looking bracelet, 80meter? without screw in crown? Another "iffy". However, I kind of like the case design. Something unique and different for a change. Thanks Ivan and look forward another Sunday review.
Haha sorry Alex, I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint! This was put out today as the collaborator was requesting publication during the 11/11 period - probably earlier would be better but I just got too much else on my plate.
Yeah definitely a few iffy things here… 80m is not out of question I think, and depends on the quality of seals around the crown. After all, all G-shocks advertise 200m and many have plastic push buttons…
Great review. Due to Merkur's spotty reputation in terms of quality I 'd have to give this one a pass. At $170 it's a definite pass.
What problems had you had with Merkur?
@@PerthWAtchI think that certain comments about merkur and other small Chinese brands are completely false, for example a Swiss addict on a page that I frequent said that the polishing of this watch was poorly done.... the watch is not polished , LOL!!!!
Oh yeah I agree - shockingly done polishing 🤣
I have both Swiss and Chinese made watches and quite frankly I like them both. I have friends who have bought Merkur, usually off of Amazon, and they complain about the cases and the level of finishing. I mean, most of the Chinese watches use a well-proven Seiko movement. That's the main part. I just critiques Merkur because from what I've heard and seen of them. I avoid them. I'll definitely consider a San Martin, Cronos or Proximus any day.@@stephanegauthier8895
You can buy the Marathon GPM for twice the price with a swiss movement, this watch is not a good value. I guess tritium is expensive
Thanks for sharing your opinion
Merkur are such a bad company… I have ordered the skin diver twice and never received it. I’ve had my money back, but they sell watches when they don’t have them in stock!
That’s very bad - which site did you order from? Hopefully they respond to your comment here
Many companies do that to get free loans, they take your money and use it, then send you your money back after they received another 100x $200 and keep it going.
A buy sugess 1963, merkur fod flieger b uhr, merkur fod big eye, red star army wuxing reissus and i dont ave probleme with this. You used official store ?
Not for me don't like manual wind
I see
I love manual wind 😄 Quick and easy to do in few seconds each day, it gives a bit of old school charm 🥰
It does indeed give some old school charm! But auto is overall easier
@@PerthWAtch but sometimes it is noisy, thicker and heavier ^^ and a bit longer to service. I like my automatic movements but I love having a manual wind movement in an old school style watch :)
Horology channel? Dude, you are reviewing a 60 dollar watch.
I’ve reviewed cheaper. Are you saying that you’re a snob?
At what price do watches stop being watches?
Snobs pretty much just make it up as it suits them
