      Oh yay :)... Henry have you seen the Mini Twister Jar? I have the regular Blendtec and Vitamix :P.. I wish I had the $$$ to buy and try these machines out.

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  9 років тому +1

      Bluesocks 11 The mini Twister Jar is a little on the small side, plus it's limited in features against the standard Twister Jar. The standard Twister Jar is already small in size and will satisfy every need including making baby food and purees especially since it comes with a vented gripper lid. The mini Twister Jar does not come with the veneted gripper lid. I would say it's minimal size is more ideal for grinding veggies and fruits into baby food but that's where it ends.

    You gave me some great recipe ideas! Thanks so much! And so refreshing to see you do a positive review on the Blendtec 725. After being able to use the Vitamix 7200 and the Blendtec 725 side by side for several weeks, I fell in love with the Blendtec 725. I really don't see how the knob on the Vitamix can possibly give any more precise control than the 100 speed slider on the Blendtec. And there is no comparison when it comes to being able to precisely control the speed of pulsing with the Blendtec. For me, the lack of any pulse option on the Vitamix 7200 was a strong negative. And the one time I didn't flip the switch to low before turning on the Vitamix--OMG! I will never forget the sight of the jar rocking like it was going to fly off, and worse, that horrible grinding noise of the gears not meshing! Of course, they are both awesome machines, but my personal preference is the Blendtec. I haven't found anything yet the Blendtec 725 can't do superbly. I have no tamper envy--haven't needed one with the Blendtec.

      He's shown the pulse option in other videos, you quickly flip the power button on and off as needed. It isn't any easier or harder than that. I have the 5000 and have always done it that way.

    The 725. Looks like a great blender. Even if you might need the "twister" attachment/jar (which can be bought with the 725 as a combo purchase). Still it costs almost $100 more than the Vitamix a3500. Did you ever do a head to head with these two blenders? Thought you did...
    As for the "twister" jar...some people don't like the idea preferring the "up/down motion" of the tamper vs the turning. Not having used either...it seems like that's personal preference. Could argue that with the "twister" you only turn. With the tamper you have to "aim" the end usually at the 4 corners. Which is more work (no I"m not that lazy heh). As for the "twister jar" couldn't Blendtec have put a motor in the knob? press a button and the twister turns on it's on. Press again--for off.
    Also, being that the lid of the 725 (and I guess the others in the Designer Series) has a hole already...why not offer a tamper?? A choice.
    The display on the Designer series is so much better than the a3500's. IMHO. If they could switch displays...

    Henry good job demo. I am Viatmix 750 fan myself, but I did enjoy this demo. From my experience with Vitamix 750, you do all of these with only one container. I am sure Blendtec is a wonderful product but for me... VITAMIX is the KING :-) LOL

    Kind of a surprise seeing blentec on here, thought you kinda ripped them in an earlier video about lack of tamper. Looks like a good machine but have seen a video on test kitchen where Vitamix beats them. Do t own any good blender yet but plan on buying a Vitamix in next couple weeks.
    Blentec would probably make a good second choice.

    Henry, I LOVE your videos (even though I'm a Raiders fan and don't like the 49ers, but that's okay). I especially enjoy your milkshakes and ice cream, but I'm allergic to almonds (and hazelnuts, for that matter). What types of frozen milks would you recommend? I can do coconut, rice, or soy milks, and assume that I could do hemp seed as well, but for flavor purposes I'm not sure which would be best. Thanks in advance!

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  9 років тому

      Aaren Jackson Hi Aaren! Thanks for watching! My best friend is a Raiders fan and he and I fight back and forth daily, so no worries. :-) Since I use Coconut Milk in the milkshake recipe you can substitute the Almond Milk Ice Cubes for Soy Milk instead. Since coconut milk is already used adding coconut milk ice cubes will double up on the coconut flavor and overpower the drink. Almond milk and Soy Milk are very mild in flavor. I haven't tried hemp but if it's mild in flavor you can use that for the ice cubes as well.

      +Michael Martinez I have been loving my Blendtec Designer 725 series. I use it every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day for all sorts of things, I make a lot of cashew cream with it, and that type of thing too. I also, noticed that cnet noticed the issue when making nut butters at full speed, however, the 725 comes with a nut butter attachment and you should not make it on full speed there is a special recommended setting for it. I make a ton of almond butter with my nut butter attachment and have never noticed the rubber gasket issue, and i make almond flour in the full wild side jar and have also never noticed the rubber attachment. But I do keep my eye out for it. It has been great! This machine replaced my vitamix and I haven't been happier!

      +Michael Martinez I've read that review (and dozens similar), and that keeps me from buying a Blendtec. I don't want down time waiting for a replacement jar to be sent to me, plus after the warranty is up, then the jars will cost $$$$. And it doesn't look like the problem is fixed yet.

    Hey Henry, Do you think there is a vast improvement from the Blendtec 625 to the 675 to the 725? I hear the 725 is a bit too powerful for its own good and the pitcher begins to leak because of this apparent flaw. Also, do you prefer the Blendtec over the Vitamix or vice versa and why?

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  8 років тому

      The 100 speed slider and rewards benefits make the 725 the best option. Blendtec redesigned the jars. They won't leak.

    It looks like the blendtec twister blades are more efficient than the vitamix tamper. Is that true?

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  8 років тому +1

      +JCFtv The Vitamix Tamper is easier to use and more versatile since Vitamix makes them for all container sizes whereas the Blendtec Twister blades are made only for the Twister Jars which are smaller than Blendtec's 4-sided and Wildside Plus Jars. But don't let that be the deciding factor between each brand. Both have their strengths and both have accessories to get the job done.

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  6 років тому +1

      Horsepower is not the main factor in blending power and efficiency. A 3 peak hp Blendtec doesn't perform better than a 2 peak hp Vitamix. It's really about the blade and jar design.

      Blending With Henry I’m debating between this or the ascent 3500. With the ascent I feel like you need more containers but I get everyone’s loyalty to the OG of blenders and that’s why I’m undecided. If you have any comments please let me know!! 🙂

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  5 років тому

      The extra containers available for the Ascent line are only a plus and an added benefit. Being able to buy accessory containers like the 8oz blending bowls can really help depending on your culinary needs, but the Ascent doesn't need anything more than other legacy Vitamix machines need. I simply don't care for the electronic control pad. Give me knobs and dials any day. They provide more precision and put you in control. Blendtec is marketing the "Bells & Whistles" (such as the lighted touch panel} to make it's blenders more exciting. Bottom line... Go for the simplicity and professionalism of a Vitamix.

    why would one pick 725 over 675 or 625?

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  9 років тому

      ? ? The 725 is has a 100 speed slider manual control, the only one that is available in stainless steel finish and while no Blendtec machines come with recipe books you can get one free of charge, shipping included with the 725 due to the Rewards Program that is only available on the 725.

    • @user-op4qi9om5z
      @user-op4qi9om5z 9 років тому

      Hey Henry, thanks for the reply, then my question is: is it worth the $100 more to get the 725 instead of 675 for only a few added features?

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  9 років тому

      ? ? Yes, I would definitely say the 725 is worth paying the $100 extra. The recipe book alone is $25. While you can get recipes off Blendtec's website free of charge, the paid for book offers a lot more recipes. That leaves $75 on the plate. A machine of this caliber is generally kept for many years past the warranty 8 period. The 100 speed manual slider control is more than worth the extra $75. For when you need that precise speed for special sauces or mixing. The other Blendtec Designer models have only a 6 or 8 speed slider control.

      ? ? You're paying more for the enclosure. The 725 is the better bang for the buck. Unless the need for quiet is imperative such as using it in a business atmosphere I would recommend against the Pro 800.

    Unfortunately the whipped cream you made is NOT vegan, just because you used gelatin! Apart from that I loved your video!

      Thanks for your feedback, but I did clarify that the gelatin was optional and it was purely for presentation.

    You just made it not vegan by adding gelatin to it ):

      sanskritmantra Haha. You had my laughing the whole time. I just loved your post. :-). I've received so many emails from Blendtec foodies that wanted to see more Blendtec demos so I decided to add it to my repertoire of product reviews. Vitamix and Blendtec are the best in the industry. At this time I do not have plans to have them compete in another showdown review. The previous Blendtec Designer Series I reviewed against the Vitamix Pro 750 has the same blending results as the new Blendtec Designer 725.
