yeah me hearing this make me annoyed. Like even gacha games that suppose to aim for everyone like wuthering waves, genshin, and etc. Has more fan service for male gaze than female gaze. and then we have hentai and galge games for men. And apparently sexualizing women and objectifying them isn't poisoning the youth. I will agree that some people go a bit extreme over fictional character but that like every single community. I know otome game is pretty strong in asia compare to wester so I didn't know there rules and culture. Pretty interesting.
The otome culture is quite different in the east compared to here. But it's like that with a lot of things. A good example is how fans of kpop idols get very attached in Korea versus here in America with celebrities and their fanbases. It's a different mindset and culture for sure. However in this particular situation, what NINEONE did was disrespectful to not only regular otome fans but also to celebrities who acknowledge the otome culture too. There's a Chinese Gold Medal Olympian who actually plays Love and Deepspace as well and she's very respectful about addressing the public about her love for the game. She never once implied that she was the official couple of the male love interests. And the devs gifted this Olympian with diamonds and resources in-game as a way to thank her for her hard work in becoming a gold medalist. NINEONE never got any such treatment or acknowledgment.
Tbh, just the thought of a rapper crying about some video game for girls (and gay dudes) is kinda hilarious and embarrassing. Why r they concerned about about such a “GiRlY” thing? That isn’t very mAnLy.
And for what? Is he insecure he can’t measure up to fictional men and women prefer them? Is he one of those insecure ppl who say women are easily replaceable but then lose it when men are implied just as replaceable? Is he uneducated, not knowing the copious amounts of male gaze focused content and can’t stand the idea of not being catered to?

I would have preferred Paper to ignore that rapper's idiocy to save themselves the time/trouble/money from a lawsuit. I'm glad they are defending their game/otome genre, and I HOPE THEY WIN! But I'm afraid this could escalate and attract the wrong eyes on them. Are they really gonna sue every single person on the planet that is closed-minded and spouts dumb crap like that? That's a never ending spiral.
I will say tho, I'm shocked that people are getting this angry and stressed over some person claiming a fictional character for themselves. If a rabid fan had been making false claims about being the real life partner of a real person and tried to pull some real legal shenanigans ok but... over a video game character? 🙄Just let them be in their Delulu Bubble. Let them pretend their OC/self-insert headcanon is real, it doesn't affect the gameplay, just block them and move on.

I disagree. I think things would have escalated and gotten worse if Paper didn't start dishing out lawsuits. And making an example of him will help steer other troublemakers away.
Besides, it's true that he used their content to tarnish their brand. If they have the finances to take advantage of copyright laws to protect their brand, I say why not.
A lawsuit was probably the quickest way to get people to stop talking about the whole thing. It got the rapper to take down his video, and other public figures might think twice before talking negatively about LaDS in public. If there wasn’t a lawsuit, LaDS fans would likely lash out against the rapper and get more attention on the matter. In China, big fan spats have always brought negative attention to the celebrities they are defending.
As for the female rapper, she’s a public figure and expected to act reasonably, not like a random rabid otome fan. The rapper’s fans were bullying otome gamers, and especially in China, celebrities are expected to speak out when their fans become rabid. Of course they can’t be accountable for fan’s actions, but they are expected to speak up and be a voice of reason. Celebrities have PR people and whole teams working for them, so they are held to a higher standard than the average person. It is just a responsibility that comes with having more money, fame, and reach than others. Also, saying that she and Rafayel are official couples is just stupid, and Paper could consider that detrimental to their brand. It’s like if a famous person kept publicly saying Mickey is their husband, Disney would most likely send a cease and desist.
They’re only going to go after “big” ppl, producing content to make money off of hating something, I assume. Or copyright stuff. So it limited the pool a bit, tho it may cause some other insecure men to retaliate.

Istg these people and their hypocrisy! If they want to point out the fact that the sexualitation in games are bad, why only pick one or two? Especially those that are popular with girls 🤦🏻♀️ Yes, these games are made to appease certain gazes, but why's the cherry picking? Props to the developer tbh. At first I was confused why would they need to take legal matters because that's kind of extreme. But then I understand that it is needed. Especially when the rapper being hypocrite again and not mentioning the other game developers just because they're bigger.

My version of anti otome is if the main charachter is way too old for the main boys and the good ending is having the guys veiw her as an auntie figure the bad ending all of them fallen for her or she just want to be friend the good ending would be friend/family zone the bad ending is when the guys fall for you if theyre around the same age.
I am older than the average L&DS players and from Nineone's bitter comments - it sounds like she lost her man to someone else (and her dreamgirl ideal she had IRL blew up). Saddly people like Pax (rapper??) with these narow-minded views will always exist & they won't say squat about booby girl waifu games because of all the $$$ spent on them. For the record - Last Origin makes Brown Dust look like a walk in the park 🤣.
