Wish I'd seen this video before, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I even use a one sided headphone now just to hear myself unmonitored against the backing track. Interesting result!
You use a one sided headphone? I know a lot of artists do that, but I'd be careful with the loudness differential between your two ears, because if it's a lot, it can be damaging to your hearing. That's what I've been taught at any rate.
Enabling Low Latency Monitoring just did not disable monitoring from Pro Tools. If you were sure about that, there might be some other settings that allowed this to you. I could not figure out just yet.
When I enable low latency monitoring, I cannot hear the audio on the track coming through my monitors or headphones. But when I turn it off, I can hear it just fine. Is there a setting that remedies this problem, so that I can hear my audio while in low latency monitoring mode to record?
Yeah ... send the track you wanna record to to a bus where u have plugins on .. then throw away protools cos there is no way you can deactivate input monitoring or get rid of latency.

I was upgraded to pro tools studio 2022.7 from pro tools 12. I use aux track for some fx. On pro tools 12 it works great wirh aux tracks, there is no "delay" effect when recording, there's no need to mute the track. But, in this pro tools 2022, the "delay" is exist again. I've tried all the setting that use in pro tools 12, nothing works. And then I find out the cause is the aux track. When I make it innactive, it works great without "delay", but when the aux track is active, I got the delay effect when I recording, so I have mute track while recording. Any suggestion? I use aux track for expander/gate and noise reduction.
Protools screwed everything in the new versions. So we would all have to buy hd version it's marketing bs computers are so fast now they got to a point about 2013 we're I had zero latency on my Mac with many heavy plugins bussed no problem now I have new top of the line hear a and pt version and we're back to 2002 latency issues. Straight bs avid knows what there doing it's not our computers or a setting it's on purpose ...I can guerentee no one that has pt version released in last 5 years has been able to track with zero latency and all plugins active ...but we used to be able to ...
I just bought an Apollo Twin, and it's been a bit frustating because im used to tracking with compressor ect already, and cannot hear nothing from PT plugins because all the sound I hear comes from the console app.
Yeah, that's what I do sometimes: just put some plugins on console while tracking. I'll sometimes raise the levels with the fader in console on the track I'm recording, and then turn down my PT levels to get things sitting nicely in the control room for the tracking phase.
Ive been using UA Apollo/council and it works great in conjunction with low latency while recording into pt. However when im tracking, it seems as thou no matter what settings i use, if i do not unable the record button in pt when i preview what ive just recorded or aid in doing a punch in, it has some wierd latency thang goin on. As soon as the record button is turned off its fine. The only way ive found to get around it, is to de activate almost all plugins and then the problem seems to go away.
Yeah, that's why I monitor through Console while recording with my Apollo. There's some latency coming in with live input, so what I do is listen through Console entirely, and then after recording, when listening back, I mute console and listen through PT.
@jayrunproductionsllc9861 last time I checked it doesn't sync properly when I do that. Sometimes it gets close, but not as good as monitoring through console.

Thanks for the warning, but I generally use it for my voice or violin; two instruments where good monitoring is essential for intonation. @@CatoNoise

Don't forget there's an option to leave sends active during LLM. This means that the talent can still get some reverb etc from Pro Tools.

Are you using Apollo Console?
I don't have that option in options.

Just use the PlugIns from UA inside Console while Tracking. You can print them, or just use for Monitoring
