Thank you Linda for having this man as a guest. I found it comforting to hear this man tell the truth about how although some people are scared by thier sightings, more important is he has not heard of anyone being hurt by them. In my area people say that you "should" be scared of them and theres something wrong with you if you're not. In my opinion some people get scared so bad that they take the whole experience as a threat of some kind. I personally have enjoyed my interactions with them and I know they could have had me for supper if it was in thier mindset.
My grandparents were Appalachian Mountain folks and they wouldn't allow me near the woods. They told me the woolly boogers would get me and that was back in the early 1970's.
My grandparents were Appalachian Mountain folk as well, and although I have no doubt that they loved us kids deeply, they allowed us to play in the woods with no boundaries from dawn till dusk lol. And they knew they were out there. My grandmother was absolutely insistent upon the fact that we get the curtains closed before nightfall so that they couldn't peep in on us. But my grandparents must have known they weren't going to hurt us. And they never did. The only guidance they ever gave us was that if the woods go quiet, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.
I lived in Indiana and the howls and screams would start at dusk and they would make us come indoors for the night and wouldn't allow us in the L-shaped woods that surrounded their property. They had grapes, apples, chicken's a garden, etc.
I’ve really enjoyed listening to interviews with people like this man and Dan Adkins. The vocalization he describes at about 18:00 into the interview sounds almost identical to my own experience. The creature made a “whoooOOOOOP” sound that started low and rose in pitch. So many people dismiss someone’s experiences just because they have a thick southern accent. The common Hollywood stereotype is that a southern accent is equivalent with stupidity, but that couldn’t be further from the case. There are lots of people like this who live in extremely remote, rural areas who have a wealth of stories and information about these creatures. This reminds me of an old man who owned cattle near my childhood home used to warn us of a creature in the woods. He would drive his truck through the pasture to check on his cows every day, but we never saw him step foot outside the truck. We spoke with him occasionally. He told me and my two brothers that there was a giant creature that lived in the woods called the “Golly-Whopper.” We dismissed it as nonsense and assumed he told us the stories just to discourage us from roaming around his cow pasture. This didn’t work because we roamed all over the woods around our home. Years later, his description would take on new significance. After I had my own encounter, I began remembering things from my past experiences. Many times, the old man described the “Golly-Whopper” as a very tall, dark creature with glowing red eyes. He would hold his arms as far apart as he could stretch them and say “he’s about this wide at the shoulders.” (At least 4 feet across) I remember asking my father if the man was telling us a tall tale because he did not at all seem to be joking when he spoke of this thing. My father used to hunt the woods around this pasture area, but he laughed and brushed it off and said, “Ole Mr. Joe used to tell everyone that he saw some kind of monster out there in the woods.” My father indicated that everyone around town thought the old man was crazy. I’m starting to think he wasn’t so crazy after all.
Every story is another piece to the puzzle and you have no idea how much I, and I'm sure many others, appreciate what you do Linda. I already cant wait to go back to the site I found and had experiences at this last fall but I'm really going to try to connect on a deeper level this summer and hopefully get some more substantial answers from them besides the few immediate "YES" wood knock responses I got to some of my questions, which was still absolutely amazing to have happen.
I have no doubt that these things are responsible for people disappearing, but I think that's inevitable under certain conditions. I have a theory that it's almost like Black bears. It's inevitable that people are going to disappear once in a while when they come across these things, but it's like bears, where normally they are scared and run off, but in certain instances there might be circumstances that lead to people 'disappearing.' Such as that they feel threatened or that they have young with them, or that maybe they're even hungry. It's inevitable that when they stumble across humans that from time to time it's going to end badly depending on certain circumstances. And there's always going to be bad apples in the bunch. But I don't think they're inherently out to kill people, not most of them anyway.
If a family of bigfoots live near your house, you can bet they know every move you make,24 hrs a day. They know what room you sleep in,where the t.v. is and so on.The thing that puzzles me the most about these creatures,is why they stand around peoples houses, just outside of the light.I was just out picking morell mushrooms and heard one down the hollow about 1/4 of a mile sounding like a siren. They dont bother us,but it makes us very uncomfortable to look out and see a 12 footer standing amoung the line of burning bushes that have never been trimmed in 25 yrs.Their skin is bluish black looking, and they sparkle when you video them.I still believe they are the ancient neanderthals.Thats the only cenerio that makes any sense.
I mean I suppose they stand around just outside the light because they're nosy and we entertain them and they think they're being stealth by standing beyond the reach of the light. I mean if I wanted to observe something without being noticed that's probably how I would act.
Have you ever tried to communicate with them? Talk out loud to them, ask them questions, gift to them, etc, maybe they're waiting for you to spark up the conversation first.
@RxYouth Last year, before we knew any better,my girlfriend would sing to em.They would reply back with scooter sounds, deep low growls, weed eater, push mower sounds. These beasts can imitate anything. Now we don't mess with them, and haven't in a while.
@@markpaul-ym5wg that still isn't showing any kind of aggression in my eyes, a lot of people mention how humorous or jokester they can be, they could be doing something akin to that. I think many people have misunderstandings or misinterpret their forms of communications. If you're not wanting to connect or have any kind of relationship with them I totally understand but if you ever do just be as respectful to them as possible, tell them your intentions, ask them before doing things, put out feelings of love, peace, friendship, acceptance, etc and just talk to them normally like they're any person. Also remember you can have a connection but still lay down boundaries you don't want them to cross or mention things you don't like them to do. I asked the ones I had encounters with last fall to please not follow me home as I've heard others describe happen and so far so good, but I still can't wait to go back and visit them once it's warm enough. Good luck with yours, I hope the relationship can blossom a little more at some point.
Very fascinating guest, love hearing all these stories. Thx
Thanks for watching
