  • Researcher Emili Barbarias shares two case studies applying Additive Manufacturing technologies in HPDC foundry:
    1) AM DISTRIBUTOR: A new distributor was manufactured by additive manufacturing means. Increased heat dissipation made it possible to reduce cycle time by 3 seconds.
    2) IMPROVED SOLUTION FOR AN AM SENSORIZED INSERT: Cooling channels were re-designed using flow, thermal and thermo-mechanical analysis. The result was a better thermal balanced design in temperature and stresses and, therefore, a longer life-time for the insert.
A lay out of a HPDC 4.0 architecture is presented by combining:
Application of sensors, placed in relevant areas close to the phenomena to be measured.
Signal processers by standardized monitoring systems.
Centralized control (brain) that correlates data and sends messages and signals to workers and equipment to assure a correct performance and outcome.
This presentation was performed as a part of the Druckgusstag 21 conference (Euroguss 2022).

    Nice video sir.
Can you explain using 2cover dies in HPDC?
