Love your recent Videos Paul! I mean i always loved them. But the content the last few weeks is sooo good!
Have always loved a Vanquish, thats the Aston Haus f our age group. Keep it up, happy to see the channel make a comeback
I don’t think anything is being purchased
The original Vanquish, especially a late 2006/2007 S version with the new dashboard, is a car to get now before values go up. I had the opportunity to test drive many modern Aston's and the original Vanquish S was the one that provided me the best driving experience, a very analogue and raw car. One of the greatest sounding cars, ever. The last handbuilt car at Newport Pagnell factory, a perfect classy and muscular design, a fantastic comfortable GT with very low production numbers (only 1086 Vanquish S built between 2004 and 2007), these cars are EPIC. Those who criticize the car, and especially the gearbox, probably didn't even see one in the flesh...
Riunous. They are most problematic. Electrical. Engine belts coming off under high torque steer.
And your knowledge comes from experience?@@RobertRedford77
do you buy the best value auto and pay to get the manual conversion ?
DBS Leggerra is my fav as well. Your Alfa needs other tyres with wider walls for more comfort.
I think you’d fit more into a V12 Vatange rather than the big DBS/Vanquish
He ain’t buying F?£@ all guys absolutely F all 😂😂😂
A great review really interesting fantastic insight.
Definitely that gorgeous manual!
Why not save yourself a couple of quid and buy a DB9?
I’ve just bought a one owner 2005 DB9 & I’m absolutely loving it!
I’m just an ordinary guy who’s worked hard the last few years and saved enough for my dream car!
Don’t think, just do it!👍😊❤️
Maybe it's just me but it seems like you're sitting super close to the wheel and the stick. Almost looks awkward to shift because of how your arm is bent. Maybe just me?
Supercars of London Awesome Video I think it's awesome that you got to Drive those Awesome Aston Martin Vanquish S 's and I think you should definitely get a DBS in the future
Can't imagine many Vanquish owners wear cargo pants and a hoodie....lol. Enjoyed this one! get one bought
Old automatics are trash. If you have the choice I would always go for a manual with older cars
Not sure about that. Depends on how you want to drive them. The Vanquish with the auo box makes it a beautiful cruiser. I drove an auto Vanquish around Goodwood ..cruised up to 110 on Lavant straight with ease! Would love one!
Its not an automatic! Its an automated manual box, a very different thing.@@waynemarlow8157
Beautiful cars, one of my favourites 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Love this Paul, that Manuel vanquish seems more GT than GT3
DBS …that’s the next car for you 👌
Funny thing is that manual gear box is likely the same as the one behind the paddles. The paddle car is an automated manual, and the conversion is usually just adding the shifter and clutch pedal to the existing gearbox.
That’s 100% right. Same Tremec box, just different change mech. 13 year Ownership of a paddleshift Vanq, and it’s smooth and easy once you get used to it 👍
Has your Vanquish been as expensive to maintain as is often claimed? It's been my dream car for over a decade...
The short answer is no. It’s been serviced and inspected annually by Stratton Motor Company despite only doing a few hundred miles each year as a concours competitor. However, all the concours cleaning and prep taking literally hundreds of hours has been done by myself, so no external cost. Of course, this isn’t necessary unless you are a concours saddo like me wanting the car absolutely perfect. I think the maintenance figure of an average of £2k per annum excluding tax and insurance is about right.
@@doctorhouxoflemans funny, I've got a Vantage...
did nicholas mee have a you tubber day to sell their overpriced cars ?
Always thought these are beautiful cars. I remember seeing Lara Croft driving one.
I’d have the manual any day, a good auto can be nice but that Vanquish auto, just isn’t as good as the rest of the car
Have you driven either?
So Nicolas Mee is clearly marketing to dumb UA-camrs to part with cars...3 in a week
It's been well documented by Sam in his videos, that Paul is not a manual trans kinda guy. Come on Paul, you gotta learn to love a stick shift.
Paul I thought you were a lamborghini guy .seems like you love Aston Martins. And ferraris now.but you need a super car back on the channel .super cars are your thing.please please can you get a super car back on your channel.from Dan.m
Wouldn't you call a Vanquish a supercar?
@@darthvaper6745 yes I would call it a super car..as Paul has had a lamborghini on the channel before. A change is good.
Wow, Nicholas Mee must be in trouble. All these UA-camrs (third one this week)? Can only mean they need help to sell cars…. So manual every time, but… Much as I hate to say it, the manual on these wasn’t a great gearbox.
Nothing wrong with the gearbox. As Chris Harris has said, you have to learn how to use them. Far too many lazy motoring journalists haven't bothered and spout cr*p as a result.
@@neilwoodward4161 maybe so, I’ve driven one and it’s no GT3 manual. I’m not saying it’s a bad gearbox but it’s not an amazing manual. You could even make the argument that an auto suits this car better?
I think part of the trouble with the manual conversion is Works didn't put the spring detents back, so didn't have as well defined gate as you would like. Gt3 does have a fab gearchange though!
