    Wonder if you guys will cover the *Flux Keyboard,* assuming it actually releases. As far as I know it hasn't come out yet. It's expensive as hell, but the idea of a keyboard that is a screen and almost fully transparent (like 98% clear or something) is neat. Supposedly low latency (1-2 ms) too, with analog hall effect.
    TBH, even if it was entirely legit, I don't think I could justify getting it. Between the price and the distraction of the screen, which honestly probably wouldn't work that well since the effect is intended for a straight on top-down view. I'd still like to see it get covered though.

Is it the foam that completeley changes the sound of keyboards or what kind of switches are these? So if I need to respond to a message on my phone, I can quickly change over the Bluetooth profile, write my reply, tap send, and switch back to my computer on the keyboard.
    It's absolutely amazing how seamless it is. Write something on phone, tap shortcut, type where you left off on pc.
    But if it requires more work to switch between devices, I would not use it.

    I got one of these in black and I have to say, while the gradient keycaps look cool, they do a serious dis-service to the LED lighting as did the switches. I swapped out the switches for my favorite LTC crystal linear units and installed a set of Piifox Cyber keycaps and DAMN does it ever looks nice! I wish they did more with the upper right corner than that lame panel. The round lighting button could have been placed on the left side of the screen and that right real-estate could have used for a volume knob or roller. Overall its a nifty design.
    BTW...I also got an Epomaker EK21 Via 10-keypad with the same switches and the rest of the Piifox keycaps and it matches the aesthetic perfectly!

    Epomaker is such an unusual OEM in the keyboard space. Really they just rebrand Chinese keyboards that don't have enough demand to come to the states on their own. Or that was my experience with the "Epomaker Ajazz AK820 Pro" I bought on Amazon. All the branding on the box, the keyboard itself, etc, was just from Ajazz. Having said that, they pick really quality stuff to bring over this way and I am happy to have the shorter ship times and easier customer service options that Amazon offers. I just worry that the OEMs are in a race to the bottom right now and that will eventually get too good to be true.

      also by the point you get a Numpad, you already lost the Air Quotes "Save of desk space" so you might as well go for TKL.
      there's no real need for 75%; 60% or lower, I get, you're crazy but I get those. But 75%? Just get a TKL at that point

    It's actually crazy how little he knows about mods on boards. The "hifi sound sheet" is literally just pe foam which is contributing to that marbly sound that all of these cheap boards use to mask design flaws in case construction leading to board ping.

      Are you referring to what he said in the intro?? I think he was scoffing more at the "hi-fi" marketing rather than the foam itself. If you did watch the rest of the video, that should've made it more clear.

    Lots of sponsored shortcicruits lately, feels like the ratio has changed a bit there vs non sponsored content. Good for LTT revenue I guess, but even though I know LTT doesn't let sponsors censor them if things are bad, they still don't feel as genuine as non sponsored short circuits. With Ploof he likes keyboards so it is alright, but with a few others it feels like the host is going through the motions to get the sponsored unboxing out of the way.

      It's because these are about you the viewer seeing the physical product and how it works, even if all the "talking points" are just the same as the company's publicity banners. The moment you see somebody saying something that is factually wrong or big claims like: "this will be the best keyboard for productivity", just ignore it and try to draw your own conclusions.

    Why are so many mechanical keyboards without numpads these days? Have people forgotten how to use their right hand when typing? Does nobody use home or end anymore? Even on my keyboard which does have a numpad, the end key only works when numlock is off. I use both the numpad, and the additional keys on that side all the time, especially the enter key. I want more full sized mechanical keyboards.

    • @ffukamizu
      @ffukamizu 7 місяців тому

      I mean the numpad doesn't add any value if you are not constantly typing numbers all day, and really gets in the way of the mouse if you center the kb on you

    • @Jj82op
      @Jj82op 7 місяців тому +1

      You have two End keys, on the number 1 on the numpad and on the cluster above the arrow keys, you can always use this one. When you are typing both hands are on the home row, so moving your hands out of the way to press other keys can be inefficient. These are more popular just for people who don't need the numpad very much, gaming or some people like to save desk space, for example. There are plenty of full sized keyboards, Keychron is a popular brand.
      I think we should see more numpads on the left side, makes sense to me to use the mouse with your right hand and numpad with the left. Or having a separate numpad solves that too.
