This is a review of the third version of the GI Joe team's quintessential desert expert; Dusty... only he's not alone this time! Possibly due to a lack of "animal companions" during the 1990-1991 years, Dusty was given a freindly little coyote named Sandstorm. Sadly, history seems to have forgotten this puppy. Dusty's outfit is now more relaxed (or French Foreign Legionnaire, I think) than before.
LOL that skit at the end.
Awesome review.
This figure was my first G.I.Joe figure, even though I used to watch the Sunbow animated show during the 80's, I was mostly collecting only Transformers. In 1991 I decided to branch out and when I saw a Dusty figure I had to have him, for two reasons he was my favorite on the 80's show and the fact that he was born in my hometown.
In the Army, our ALICE medium packs were meant to carry the bundled sleep role underneath. Putting your bedroll on top prevents accessing the main compartment under the flap. It all depends on the design of the pack which is more convenient.
Always had a soft spot for Joes with animals. Gnawgahyde, Spirit, Snakeyes, etc. Wish they did more with Dusty in the comics.
I'm trying to start up a collection myself. I have a good amount of figures/vehicles from 1984-1992. I'll be honest that a lot of the vehicles have been stored in a garage, need cleaning and are missing parts. But the vehicle shells are in good shape themselves. After a good cleaning a lot of the vehicles could either be used for parts or used themselves with ordered parts. Off the top of my head I have the night raven, triple t, mobat, rolling thunder, warthog, the crossfire, thunder machine, tomahawk. I don't know if there is any value to these vehicles as i have described them. I know that many collectors have parts and need certain parts. On the figure side, i probably have around 100 figures in a variety of conditions...from broke crotch and thumbs to pretty damn good for being 30 yesrs old. I'm trying to learn about the whole joe collector scene and where to start with what i have. I'm gonna go thru my storage, compile all my gi joe stuff and clean everything up that i have within the next couple weeks. After that.....i don't know where to go from there. Any advice?
Excellent review! I had no idea there was a third version of Dusty.
Dusty! Great review
He ate the scorpion?!?
Great review! I look forward to the Desert Scorpion. By the way scorpions are arthropods belonging to the same family as spiders. centipedes, millipedes, lobsters, crabs and shrimp.
It's possible that the names of the 1991 vehicles were not finalized by the time the file card had to be ready for print?
Great video review Kevin!
@formbx257 Do you get the Figure subscriptions? Are you in to the modern figures?
Is there any explanation why Dusty’s beret is on the opposite way as all the other beret wearing Joes like Stalker and Flint?
Good video
I wish they would have done this figure instead of munitia in fss 8.0
I only got the tiger force dusty :D
Scorpions are arachnids, same group as spiders.
