Frank is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. His tone is always perfect and he has soul along with chops. I love his blend of rock, funk, soul and country in the songs which separates him from his peers. Keep rocking Frank! Eddie, Jim & Don………..Thank you for all you do and coming back!
I followed you all on That Metal Show and can't tell you how awesome it is to have you guys back on pretty much the same format. Thank you for That Rocks! A much needed show in my opinion.
Eddie, Don and Jim, no one can do a show like you guys!!!! With the millions of rock podcasts around, none of them even comes close to yours. Everyone else borrows stuff and really have nothing interesting to offer that isn't public knowledge. The way you guys interact, the insider info, stories and new band recommendations are priceless. The lack of coverage of our favorite music leaves you guys as the best source of current info along with a rare few magazines. The way you interact, the enthusiasm and humor is just plain unmatched. This episode with Frank Hannon, Tesla in my top 5 of all time, is absolutely perfect chemistry. I could easily be a fifth box with you all. It's a great hang with friends I never met. SO GREAT to be back with you all again!!! I'm 62 years old and always look forward to this time!!!

Ah, those pesky little technical flubs! I know all about that stuff! Actually, I love it. It's not easy doing stuff in real time, but hey, that's half the fun of it. Trying to pull things off live over the internet is never easy. Keep up the great work. Content is king, and your chemistry can't be denied.
Great interview with the great Frank Hannon. Such a cool guy from one of the most underrated bands of our time. My favorite band from the first album through now. It was great hearing him with you guys. Keep up the great work, guys. Awesome show.
Great show-love you guys and all you bring to hard rock and metal. The thing with Kiss-Alive is songs that were once weakly produced and neutered with thin studio production, now just leap from the speakers with full bodied sound and aggressive tones! Kiss-Alive is also my favorite album cover of all time - completely capturing the band in their element. UFO-Strangers In The Night is my favorite live album of all time, Schenker on FIRE!!!
Man I absolutely love this!! Production on the fly, can go however long, and all that. I appreciated "That Metal Show" 100 percent, but I almost appreciate this 110 percent. We're in good hands again dammit!

Scorpions - World Wide Live That's a quick list off the top of my head... but Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo! is honorable mention... Priest - Live Vengeance '82 or Unleashed in the East both are honorable mention. I love all the Maiden Live stuff as well. Kiss - Alive II...
I've seen Tesla live several times, most recently last year and they always sound amazing! Tesla never disappoints live, one of my top 5 live acts ever.
Just got my tickets today seeing Tesla in Clearfield, PA in August. I'm hoping Lady Luck is in the setlist. Killer track, definitely my favorite Tesla song. Gonna be an interesting week. Tesla Wednesday, Nugent Saturday, also in Clearfield. Then Volbeat w/ Halestorm on Sunday in Hershey.
Thanks for the Randy Rhoads props, he doesn't get a fair shake at times. I saw him with Ozzy on the Diary tour myself. Tommy Aldridge in an interview stated that he and Randy Rhoads used to listen to the live tapes after the show and when they listened to that Cleveland Blizzard show that became Tribute, Randy actually hated how it came out. Tommy said that Randy commented that he thought it was garbage and never wanted to hear it again. Randy did like the King Biscut Show from Montreal 81 how his guitar sounded and the bands playing.
Thin Lizzy Live/Life!! Agree with Don! That album is perfect, flawless! Always said it. Far better than Live and Dangerous. Unleashed in the East was all rerecorded by Rob, so it’s off

Not Hard Rock but STYX - Return to Paradise Theater was a great concert and the Live CD was excellent Genesis - When in Rome (2007) has to be the best sounding & Looking live DVD I've seen in a long time. Not the band at their peak but really good DVD. "The Way We Walk - Vol I" has the best version of "Throwing it all Away imo. Phil Collins Live side note: In the Air was never a top song for me but In his shows its so damn good. Cool intro and he times his walk with the drum kit rising up for the drum solo is outstanding.
I just bought Geezer Butlers book! You guys ought call it That Rocks the Tech Bloopers episode! 😂 Thanks for recommending his book Eddie. Is Geezer feeling better? Hope to see him as a guest on your show soon! 🤘
I was lucky enough to see Ozzy on The Diary of a Madman tour in Des Moines at the bat-biting incident with the late Randy Rhoads. ❤ Kiss Dynasty was my first big-time concert.
Ozzy- Speak of the Devil! I play this more than any other live album in my collection. I know the other guys in Sabbath weren’t happy about it. In my opinion, it’s the best live album of Sabbath songs you can get! Brad Gillis’s guitar tone is killer and what’s better than Ozzy singing Sabbath!
I don't get a chance to watch this live but I love the show. With that being said, how in the hell did Black Sabbath Live eVIL not even get mentioned!?
Ozzy/Randy Tribute is a great live record. For me personally, those are the definitive versions of the Blizzard/Diary tracks. Imo, the album version of Crazy Train has got nothing on the tribute version.

It's a shame that those performances were not records. Every Judas Priest live performance is extraordinary, but the best was part of the composite box set with the black studded box.
I still think the David Coverdale episode is the best, but this one is a close one in being number one so far and so yes the off the rails was fun stuff...

I know a lot of people pick live after death is being a classic live album. Let alone for iron maiden but if I was to pick a live album from them it would be flight 666 because the band overall just sounds better every musician in the band stepped up their game through the years from 2000 and on. Pass live recordings would have him not go for all those high notes that he does on the studio album and kind of sing it the way that David Roth likes to do with Van Halen live. From Rock a Rio on especially on flight 666 Bruce's going for that studio perfect sound performance
I’m a day late, but here’s my 6 live albums: 6) Captured, Journey (not hard rock/metal, but still awesome; plus doesn’t have all the major hits but most from the 70s era) 5) Live & Loud, Ozzy 4) Live Killers, Queen 3) At Budokan!, Cheap Trick 2) Live Shit: Binge & Purge, Metallica 1) Alive 1-3, Kiss (Eddie will be mad that I grouped it into one, but I couldn’t choose between either; they’re both badass)
