Goodness me James, I had to check the calendar I thought it was April 1st 😅 All those times we thought that the gas man was coming and now he has actually been 🎉🎉🎉🎉
WOOHOO! YaY for hot water!!! You can always put a small mirror on the wall across from the boiler too, so if someone else needs to use it they can see the knobs and screen. Cheers to hot showers and an oven! :)
Bloody hell, James. I don't know how you managed without hot water for over two years. Sooner you than me. Anyway, it's done. Hope you have a great couple of weeks away. All the best, mate.
Just a thought James. How about putting a tiltable mirror on the wall opposite the boiler so you can see the reflection of the control knobs? Love your energy and me and him indoors can't wait you to see how narrowboat 59 turns out.
Hot water is the best, we lived in a old caravan in the 1970s, no hot water, all heated with a kettle, them moving to the house. Even 45 years later hot water is the best thing. Take care.
Not camera trickery…..beachside you know someone will accuse you of not really having hot water 💧 🤣😂😅 I am glad you will be able to use the oven for purposes other then storing the instructions. Sloe Patrol looking good. Good work James . I think you will gets things done a lot quicker on Project 58 also! 😊🤗 Kathy
Only a thought James, and it may have been suggested elsewhere, but how about a bit of mirror on the wall( bulkhead?) opposite your boiler to enable you to easily see the controls. One query…….when do you sleep? Keep up the good work
Well.done James you finally have hot water lol your gas heater Will certainly be cheaper to heat water up than my Aldi. Itbgoing to be nice to be able to use your shower now and cook
Congrats on the hot water install! Sloe Patrol is looking great - there's always a million little projects to complete whether in a boat or a house, aren't there? Also, I find it's somewhat hard to stop working on the NEW and SHINY project, and get back to an older one (yes I'm a knitter....why do you ask?!)
Are you not reinstalling the fridge? I know you're going to love having hot water. We all love it for you. And I'm going to borrow your niggles term. Love that one. Leigh
Yes...I wanted to trim around my oven...But I as told No No... Unless I vented at the rear. Its all about heat build up. To much heat trapped can and will distort the oven surround and shelf, causing the oven to shift and pos strain fixings.
Hi James another good vlog when you pass Ivinghoe Turf bridge 123 there is a film set for the film of Wicked and they have built a massive munchkin village would be great for your kids to see we saw it last time we went past and thought it was great
Hello, We’ve just installed this boiler and are having the same problem you had initially on the video with nothing happening when we turn it on! May I ask what you did to fix it and get it firing. Also does the display work without the hot tap being on etc? Thanks so much
Ok - mine works all the time BUT not always the first time of asking. Display has never worked for me - If I use the hobs or oven it won’t work - it needs max gas pressure and water pressure. At night, if batts can’t give it the full umpf then the boiler won’t fire. Take the cover off and keep flicking the switch on the left whilst opening and closing the hot tap until it fires for the first time. That’s how it worked for me but it’s not a guarantee by any stretch Hope that helps Good luck Ps - make sure it’s on a 13KG gas bottle
Amazing, thank you! I was worried when I couldn’t get the display to work and the manual isn’t very helpful. Thanks for the top tip I’m going to try that tonight and will see how I get on!
No problem with hearing James talk. Subs get in the way of things being shown on the video. UA-cam has the option to turn subs on if you're hard of hearing.
Yes!! It's finally happened hot water on sloe patrol. Well done James 👏
Goodness me James, I had to check the calendar I thought it was April 1st 😅 All those times we thought that the gas man was coming and now he has actually been 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Haha!!! I’m now kicking myself - I should have done this for April 1st - open goal missed there

That's a really good idea, here's to hoping James will see it!
Re the screws a confident tap with a hammer and they snap just below the surface of the wood
I remember the hard work it took on my boat just to make it a home but when I finally had hot water, my god I smiled. Well done James x
There may have been a smile broken on board today 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt Yay!
Hooray! Hot water, working boiler and working oven…what more could a man want?! Great job James.
Thanks
Nice to see you sorting out Sloe patrol, sometimes doing lots of small jobs gives you a lot more satisfaction than completing 1 large job
Good to see bit of the ol' Sloe again. Hopefully the weather holds up the upcoming week!
I really liked the opening shot, you look pretty cool against that scenery.

Great hot water and a working oven 😊. Your doors are coming along fine. 😊 Good to see you back on Sloe Patrol .😊
Hot water is the best, we lived in a old caravan in the 1970s, no hot water, all heated with a kettle, them moving to the house. Even 45 years later hot water is the best thing. Take care.
Get in! At last hot water in SP well done James, your work is almost done (at least in Sloe Patrol).

Are you showing your boat this year? A guest speaker? I’m nosy, lol 😂.
I’m so happy you can now take a warm shower and bake bread!
Thank you 🙏

All coming together nicely

Snagging is a neverending task, even on my house I've lived in for 38 years!
My god !!! I thought I'd never see hot water on Sloe Patrol. At last XXX
James do you have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket for your kitchen?
Might want to check the manual for the oven. It may need to a vent hole in the surround.
Yes...I wanted to trim around my oven...But I as told No No... Unless I vented at the rear. Its all about heat build up.
To much heat trapped can and will distort the oven surround and shelf, causing the oven to shift and pos strain fixings.
James, before you finish the trim around the cooker, do you need a ventilation slot at the top for cooling?
You’ve seen my joinery !! There’s plenty of ventilation round the back !!!
Have you fitted shower to this what’s the pressure like ? I’m looking at fitting a similar unit
Hi James another good vlog when you pass Ivinghoe Turf bridge 123 there is a film set for the film of Wicked and they have built a massive munchkin village would be great for your kids to see we saw it last time we went past and thought it was great
I’ll look out for it Big. Thanks pal - hope you’re both well
Hi James may see you just after Cosgrove as I now moor just after in the boat club
Im excited to tag along for the boat show. I have no idea what it is. Is it only narrow boats or all kinds? I think I better go google that.

Again 6 p's prior planning prevents piss poor performance ... Crack on James!
The gas man looked a lot like the guy who had the channel ‘Christine Anne The Buoys’ a few years ago…
Getting SP ready to sell at Crick?
I’ve got a brand new old ‘Morco d61e’ water heater for cheap if could be for you…
Hot enough for a cup of tea???
I don't wish to appear rude, but that is a question only an American would ask!😉
When you come past MK drop me a message. Would love to say hello again
How you been living on that boat wi no hot water & no cooking!?😳
Gas hobs - kettle for hot water - Rob for showers
👍👌❤️🇨🇦,
It's a gas...man !
Hot shower and clean dishes😮
For pity’s sake … wear safety glasses when cutting the screws with the Dremel thing … are you trying to wind us up ??? 😊
Why didn't just use shorter screws.
