Billy Crain is one of the best guitarists of all time. Saw him and the band twice at BB Kings in Manhattan. Great to see him. I read that was wasn't going on the road in recent years. Hope he is doing okay.
Saw Henry and the boys last night in Ponte Vedra, FL and two weeks ago up in New York at Darryl's House...they brought down the house both nights...Just awesome. Took me right me back to Tampa Bay about 1978.
Your music turned me into a true lover of southern rock. I am blessed to have met you behind the Great Southern Theater in Gainesville and you recognized me at Cardi's in Houston. I am the lady with no arms and I treasure the pick that you put in my mouth.😁
Me too at the Lloyd Noble Center at the University of Oklahoma front row dead center in 1980. Me and my friend who was also from Long Island couldn't believe it. We were the only ones out of our seats. Awesome concert!
Just about 40 years later. Sweet !!!!! OK 38, but who's counting. lmao I saw them open for Charlie Daniels at (I think) The Music Hall in Boston. And Tommy Crain playing with Charlie. Awesome night with the Crain Brothers.
So many great southern rock songs, but this one is the best. First heard HPB when they opened for Styx at Rutgers in NJ, around 1979. They blew the roof off the house.
The Capital Theatre is in Clearwater Florida not Orlando this was at The Plaza Theatre in Orlando Florida. It used to be called The Rocking Chair Theatre because the seats actually rocked like a rocking chair, remember seeing a bunch of movies there back in the 70s. When the movie theater closed they turned it into a live music venue depending on how they set it up it only holds around 1200 people so it's a very intimate and great place to see live acts.
You are so right. Love the duel drummers. Saw 82/Omaha. Pointe Blank started show. Gray Ghost, So Long, the drum thunder on Feel the Heat. Keep Rockin LP.
The OUTLAWS were the Guitar Army! When Henry left the 'Laws to form the HPB he picked up really good guitarists though! Billy Crain, Jim Fish. As well as great harmonies!
Is it something different from the original having the solos broken up in two parts? I've never, at least I think so, because by that time of night, well, you know,. But I've seen this song performed by Henry and Co. The first time was the late 70s in Lawrence Kansas. Last time was what turned out to be Hughie's farewell tour in Kansas City, Missouri. It still smokes. Well done. Bravo!
@James V. , This IS the Henry Paul Band (not the Outlaws). This is the lineup from their first (1979) album(Grey Ghost) with all of the original band members.

Whew Lort!!
What is the name of the guitarist with the grey beard? It's nice to see and hear him playing.
Jim Fish ......
Is that Monte Yoho and David Dix on percussion?
Nope, that is Bill Hoffman(the original drummer of the Henry Paul Band)on drums. On congas and percussion is indeed David Dix.
@Just Ben WRONG! That's Bill with David Dix on percussion. Hair does grow you know? Proof ~ www.sweethomemusic.fr/Interviews/Crain4US.php
@@bigclyde4u Yes sir.
Can anybody give me the line up here ?
?
David Feister is surely missed
Like fine wine gets better with age . missing David Feaster the rest remains the same Bad Ass.
They are more or less a cover not taking anything away form talent but well you know
Those are all the original members of the HPB. Jim Fish, Billy Crain, Barry Rapp, Bill Hoffman, Wally Dentz, and of course Henry Paul.
