  • Riding the 2022 Sherco 300SE Factory edition, the 2023 bikes have been released and there are no upgrades for the new model year. It's looking like the rumours of a switch to a fuel injected two stroke for 2024 may be true. Would you want the last carb bike or are you looking forward to fuel Injection?

Well Greg the inevitable is happening with the emissions fixation of EU so I personally have had 3 carb 2 strokes and 3 TPI bikes over the past 6 years and I was raised on carb bikes when I was younger. The KISS principle is still my mantra when riding more miles than I can walk back to my truck and the vast majority of the time I ride by myself so CARB bike for me until they pry it out of my dead hands. So I have a 2022 SE250 and 300 now and I came very close to getting a TM 300 carb model, hopefully TM with its low volume production of their carb models can evade the emissions radar of EU, so our choices are dwindling. That said, Shercos will remain with me for many years to come and I hope we still will have a TM carb option after 2023.

Not looking forward to 2 stroke fuel injection at all. 2 strokes are all about simplicity, and fuel pump, oil pumps, associated sensors, injectors and ecu's are a deviation from simplicity.

Sherco might be in my future. Recovering from ACL surgery right now. Can’t ride till probably November. Thinking about selling my 300 and deciding what new 2st to replace it with…
On a 21 300 XC TPI currently. Runs better than my 19 TPI did. I have not had any sensor or oil pump issues yet at 100+ hours on either the 19 or 21, but most of my crew has and that means it has impacted my rides too. Think it’s my 7th KTM 2st with a few white versions in the mix and a few 4st bikes along the way. TPI is convenient but runs a bit soft compared to a correctly tuned carb. Can’t bring myself to drop the money on a GET as it’s more electronics to rely on. Not sure about being part of the KTM beta test for the new 23 TBI on the 300 XC. Been there done that with early TPI models.
Local Sherco dealer has 22’s available and sounds like BNG version 23’s in the Fall so it might be time for a change of color.
