I have a 3 year old 100 LB Rotti. No professional training. She instinctually does a parameter check of my property every night before bed. She won’t go to sleep until it’s done. She won’t leave the property but she will chase smaller animals off. She won’t walk out the house unless I give her the okay and won’t leave the property unless I or my kids are walking with her. Makes me aware anytime anything comes near the property. She is also the most lovable dog.
I always wanted a German shepherd, one day I got it he was very sweet and brave, I was once on a walk with him suddenly I was attacked my dog immediately knew what was going on and saved my life he ended up saving not only my life, but my family and friends I will never forget him they are wonderful and I would every day wonder what I would do without him

I have a Giant Alaskan Malamute crossed with a great northern wolf. He’s a wonderful canine who has proved his worth more than once. I was home alone while my husband who is military was overseas and an intruder broke in in the middle of the night. The intruder left on a stretcher with half his face and neck torn out. He’s a very well trained dog.

Doberman Pinscher is a very loyal, intelligent and confident dog breed I've ever seen. Only bark if they smells any threat. Ready to give their life without any hesitation.
Doberman Pinscher jumped from the terrace of my home because he have seen a thief inside my backyard. He caught the thief and broken his two legs.
Had a white woman sic three of her dobies on me when I was 9 years old. My German Shepherd tossed them first one picked up and shook the second one and the third saw it all and decided to pack it in he turned and ran home when he saw it go down.
Dobermans are great dogs but in stressful situations he may turn around and bite his owner
well they are good , but with little kids they wont be rlly good. there good hunting dogs for sure, and like maybe if it was just u and aomeone else it would be good, but with kids not so much
Lily Dobermans are good with kids if there raised with kids I have two dobies. But one of them does not like little kids who are outside of the family

Rottweiler is my favorite. Had one got him at 7 months,he died at the age of 11. I truly miss him and its been over ten years.

When any starnger visits my home he wont bark and will keep looking at me.
If i say keep calm he will stay calm if i say catch him he is gonna attack.
I raised him for protection of our cattle and crops.
He is no more what a brilliant dog he was.

I have a female American Bulldog. I never really thought she would do much if we had a problem, until someone jumped our fence. She had him bailed up in a corner of our yard, she had full hold of him. I was amazed. She is such a calm dog, I never imagined she was capable

I feel sad for you because the loss of my German Shepherd who was 95 pounds at six months old with outstanding ears and shiny black coat. Still hurts he is gone. it has been twenty years. I dont dwell on it, I just for a moment feel sad so many great dogs in my life.

My Amstaffs saved my live during a robbery in my home. 3 guys with guns kicked in my front door and rushed in, before I knew what was going on my 3 staffies rushed them and the bad guys promptly ran out of the house.
I love my Belgian Malinois. They are crazy! Need alot of exercise, but they want to be with their person ALL THE TIME. The most loving dog I have ever had. My husband has three hunting dogs, but now he wants one VERY intelligent!!!
I have a Boxer. He is calm, loving, and very protective of my wife. If anyone he dosen't know gets close to her he becomes a different dog.

I had a staff x boxer. Not so clever but very loyal, friendly unless he though family needed protection. He wouldn't bark or growl. He simply done as my eldest trained him to do and protected - until he was called off. He could open his mouth ready to clamp his Jaws and stop in a tiny moment when told "no" or "leave". I still miss all of my animals who have passed before me and although I have a moggy and he is lovely, he is a typical cat not one if the unusually loyal types and very few cats can be as loyal as a good dog. Mind, moggies do exercise themselves which is good at my age and in my health.
Doberman's are my favorite. I've had German shepherds (great) but Dobermans are such natural yard and family guards. One night I hear our late Doberman "Storm" growling so I go to the door with my handgun. I hear a voice outside and I notice she is literally trying to open the door with her teeth to get outside. We wait a few minutes and I see no one through the peephole so I go back to bed. She follows me and sits at the edge of the bed on my wife's side at attention guarding the rest of the night. Our now two-year-old Doberman "Phoenix" is coming along nicely as a guard dog too.

Sounds familiar. Had one as well. Very social till someone came on the property unnaounced. Never bit anyone but it would stand them off till someone came and called her off. On a funny note couldn’t swim worth a poop

I'm a 65, widowed lady and have two rotties and a pitweiler that have traveled across the country and back with me. I couldn't feel or be more safe than with them.

My Pitt is like my shadow. Best friend. Love her to death, but almost useless as a protection dog. She’s just that sweet, but she does read my energy. If I hesitate, insert distance or am uncomfortable, people need to stay back. No rough play with anyone in the family. She won’t even tolerate my kids rough housing or fighting with each other.

Ive had 2 rotties in my life and both were amazing family dogs and at the same time great protectors of their family and home. Truly the perfect mix of every aspect you look for in a dog.

I have two American Bulldogs. The younger one is 120 lbs. They are sweet,, loyal and very protective. The older one has proven himself to be a very effective guard dog and has taken a large man to the ground that tried to attack me. I feel very safe with these two imposing dogs by my side!
For me the German Sheperds are the best guard dogs !

Parents had GSD while I was growing up; I raised rotts when my kids were growing up and have since had two Dobermans. Those are my fav 3 home guardians! I never once throughout the lives of these magnificent dogs had a bad one! I’ve received updates who took pups and expressed how much they love their babies and how sweet they are, also sending pics! Nothing is better to hear that your babies went to the right family. I am going to get another Doberman as soon as I find the right one for my family ♥️
As a GSD owner i cant recomend them highly enough the only limit on the love you get is how much you put in

My current dog, the Malinois, is amazing as my protection dog. Yes, he has had lots of training but even before, he was very naturally protective.
Midsummer, one afternoon, my 4 years old niece was left alone sleeping on a couch in the veranda. A man opened our mini gate and entered the compound, moving toward the front door. Seeing the man approach the child, my boy Zeus (2 years old German Shepherd) quickly came and stayed beside the sleeping child, and as the man approached closer, Zeus began to growl, taking a firm position to attack, guarding the child. The stranger man was actually my dad's friend who was just dropping in. The scene, the incident was related to us by the man. Sadly my Zeus stayed with us only for five years and little more.

I've got 2 german shepherd puppies and even tho they're only 3 months old they do a great job keeping cats,dogs and humans away from our garden...they're also very intelligent because they have learned the basic commands in just a month...I love them to bits but what u might experience with them is the nipping and biting tends to drive u nuts sometimes....but in rest they're very loving and very protective even on walk....I saw that my puppy (Diesel) tends to be more distanced if he meets strangers on walks but (Max) my brothers puppy tends to love getting petted but they both are weary of other dogs as they think the other dogs might attack us...so yeah very intelligent and loving breed...I strongly advise on getting this breed as a first dog because they're so easily trained.

I am a German Shepherd owner raised with them wonderful Breed my Brother and son are Rotriler people and my sons 13 at the time saved my son's family he would not leave the garage for 3 days that 3rd night early morning they woke to banging on the door there home old farmhouse made of Fat lighter was on fire they had but minutes to get out with their 3 children Ranger also had puppies inside that he kept trying to get to but couldn't because of his age and the burns we had him 6 more months truly amazing animal that I will forever be in debt to for saving my son's and his families life
Dobermans are the perfect blend of beauty and brawn. They are extremely intelligent and more reliable than some of the other dogs on this list. Trainability is another key factor to consider and beside the GSD, the Doberman is the most trainable dog on this list.

We had an Akita. He was very protective but also a big, gentle sweetheart at home. He was the “talk of the block” when we took him out for a walk. Everyone admired him.

I have a 98 lb German type Boxer..mostly white with a little brown named Logan. He saved me from getting car jacked when he was about 5. He’s 11 now still protecting me. I have a 3 lb Chihuahua and a cat too. He LOVES THEM. He loves my friends and family. LOVES CHILDREN because they are closer to the ground so he can lick them. He’s my baby boy. Cuddle bug with fur like velvet. We’ve devoted our lives to each other. Not a good dog for newbies!!!!!
I had an American bull dog. You definitely needed to be in the circle of trust with her. Very loving to the family, but strangers beware. Very protective. When she passed away from a seizure, I stayed with until the end and cried like a baby. Now, we have a Pitt. Her appearance keeps people away. She lets you know someone’s approaching the property and will rid your yard of critters, but she’s otherwise useless as a protection dog. Very smart, but she hands out kisses to everyone she meets. The most protective dog I have ever had was a miniature Schnauzer. My parents got her for me when I was in middle school. She lived almost 18 years. Perhaps, my next dog with be a giant one.

If he’s scared of everything at 4 months.. there’s no training to be done. He’s not a protection dog. My 8 week old apbt isnt scared of anything. It’s quite impressive.
Just put him in different situations. I have a 8 month old corso and he’s gained a ton of confidence. He will protect me with his life if need be. For that I have no doubt.

Angel is a Pitt/Lab mix female about 12 years old now. Slowing down a bit but will still guard her home and family. She was left with me right before Christmas 2016 for a week or two.......
Baby Girl is a Pitt/Boxer mix about 5-6 years old now. Very energetic and playful. Was pretty much held in a crate 22-23 hours a day before I got her. Loves being outside now.
Both dogs were abused before I go them and it has taken time to settle them in.

No other breed is more protective than American Akita. These dogs are far more agile and much quicker than dogs of other breeds their size. An acquaintance had a big (120 lbs) male show dog. While walking him past an RV at a dog show, the owner had left the door open long enough to grab her keys. Her two German Shepherds jumped down and charged. The akita knocked the first one unconscious with his paws. The second one lay unconscious after being body slammed. Akitas have no odor. They wash themselves like cats. They are quiet, mostly making bear moans and rarely barking. Buy a puppy when a child is elementary school age and capable of learning to care for his new best friend. Total devotion!
My GSD, Valkyrie is fiercely loyal. Most people will walk on the other side of the street when we are out. She has my back, and I have hers.

I had a working line blakc gsd when i was a kid. All business with play in there but wouldn't leave my side. Now I'm 36 and have a black and tan American breed gsd, he's a 105 lbs of playfulness and love but come near his kids (my kids) and he turns into completely different animal. This breed is extremely loyal, Intelligent and protective and am glad my wife got him for me as a Christmas present, but I look at it as more of a complete family member for all of us

I do support and stand by Rottweilers. I love them all the way around. Me and my kids. It’s our go to breed. We love our rots. My brother loves pit bulls but I will always love Rotts they never hurt anyone I know. They are just wonderful dogs. I stand by them until the day I die.
I have cane corso female. She doesn't let anyone she doesn't know to get close. She is barking and loudly growling at them. No one ever attacked me,but I'm sure she would protect me. She is 5 years old and oversized,over 110lb. No one dares to come closer. I love her so much ❤

We have a Belgian Malinois and couldn't be happier. Great dog, sharp, smart, alert & so very loving w the family, our small dogs and cat. TOP NOTCH!

My Akita keeps my family safe. I'll never have any other breed. :)
I also have akitas, they are so loving but very protective. I've had 2 rotties in past and loved them but my akitas protect my family without hesitation. Most people think they are German shepherds. If my dogs are uncomfortable with someone they will only allow them at a distance to communicate with us, lol. Always listen to your dog, they have the best sense of people.

Meh lol... I trust my akita for protection in the bush, but when it comes to guarding my family and against other humans, the belgium malinois is by far superior!!! We had a mal, akita, and central asian shepherd, the cas is a great mash up between the akita and mal!!!
Akitas greatest strength is they show very little signs of distress!!! Our female could have an aggressive dog barking and spitting all over her and she just stands there(if leashed lol), but when it comes time to fight, she dominates everytime!!! Fast, agile and like a boxer not projecting their next move, she hits when they least expect!!! Kills coons skunks rats lol anything...
My Doberman/Rottweiler mix is turning 12 years old next month. He is so intelligent it's simply amazing. He is very protective and I didn't trained him, it's his instinct. No one can touch me, my car, my bag or something like that. I love him like it's my child. Hope he's gonna make it a few years more 🙏🏽
I only want a Doberman or a Rottweiler or a mix of both in the future. These dogs are amazing. But they focused on one person basically. My dog ain't going out with nobody for a walk not with my friends not even with my girlfriend. That's makes it a little bit complicated. When I was on the vacations he didn't eat for 4 days straight. They are very sensitive. 🐕❤
We have a Giant Schnauzer. She is well fit and very smart. At 110 lbs, she is a great protector and great family pet. Gentle with children and very protective of them. Many law enforcement agencies are using them, even though they were originally bred to look after cattle.
Rottweilers are my choice. They're protective and caring to the end...I've had three of them and love them!!

I pray you get one and have the wisdom to know how to care for them and keep them from having a bad reputation and get plenty of exercise and I bathed mine often to keep it shiny. If you pick a puppy make sure you pick one that you can turn on its back and it doesn't struggle. Mine would lay on her back and just fall asleep on the way home from buying her. Buy a puppy that struggles won't submit easily and it is a good thing to know how to test it even when tiny/ put two fingers on it neck and lay it on its back if it struggles find one that won't. These kinds of dogs you want easily submissive.

@@Emani1025 I had two dobermans at different times. I did not crop the ears of the first one and I regretted it. Because large heavy ears often have infections when cropped never a problem with them. Also when it comes to saving someone's life the ears are a way for anyone to stop the doberman from protecting you by anyone including other dogs being able to hold them back by their ears. For me; mine was cropped and I never regretted it. It is a personal choice. I would like to give my dobbie every chance to be able to protect our family even though I never taught it to do so because it came natural and she LOVED everyone worthy to be loved. Out of hundreds of people there were only two she did not trust and let them know. So I did not trust them either.

I’ve had a German Sheppard and currently two American Akita’s, both breeds are amazing and instinctively protective 🤍
We have a German Shepherd-Whippet mix who always lets us know if a non-family member comes to the door or passes in front of the house! He has a serious sounding growl! But thru the years (yes, I am older than dirt) my dogs have always been there for me & except for two of them (one pit bull & a Springer) they were all mutts! I always looked after their welfare & knowing that, they looked after my welfare! Dogs know when you love & care for them & will return in kind.
I have a 110lb female Rottweiler. I have had a Johnson American Bulldog and Rhodesian Ridgeback. I love all of them and hope to get a Boerboel one day. Any of the 10 you mentioned are great, I just have my favorites! Thank you for the content!
I have a 95 lb European Doberman. Looks alone 95% of the threat will run.
Between me and my friends we've had everyone of these dogs. The German Shepherds were the easiest to train but also the hardest ones to leave at home without the owners they loved so much.
