    I'm from out west and it surprises me how many breathtaking landscapes there actually are on the East Coast, probably because I grew up with this impression that everything east of the Mississippi was nothing but cities and farms.

    That’s so interesting, I drive route 1 from Houlton ME to Fort Kent ME usually once a week and even though Houlton and Hartland are 30 minutes apart from each other, the terrain looks much different on route 2 than it does on route 1.

    Love these kinds of videos. So calming, in a crazy world. As an Australian, I just wanna say, your country is massive. Would love to have a car there and six months spare to traverse your nation. Also, New Brunswick flag is one of the coolest flags ever. Love the little pop up facts. The Appalachians truly are ancient.

      Hello Tree! It's always a real pleasure to get comments from down there! I am really glad you enjoyed it, I wish I could visit Australia in my lifetime too ! Feel free to check out my other videos, there is more to come :)
      Greetings & Friendship to the people of Australia !

    The flashing arrows pointing to the US made me smile. It doesn't look so different. 😁 Would have been great to go into Québec--the road signs at the provincial line are so pretty sometimes, with the iris(?) forming half the fleur-de-lis.

      Ahahah, :D it was not my intention to makes you laugh, but if it was the case that's all good lol
      By the way, on the same day, I filmed the New Brunswick - Québec border : ua-cam.com/video/ljUvJQjogSE/v-deo.html
      And it's called a Lys flower (Fleur de lys in French)
      Thanks for watching Drew !

      Freeway Franks Ah OK I see it now! I must have missed it when I watched the other video the first time. It flew by so fast, and I wasn't expecting it to be on the left. 😁

    Seeing this video, I can imagine myself driving a beautiful sedan, leather seats, automatic transmission, and the A/C slightly cold, just enjoying the view! Great video!!!!

    Wahou !!

      Merci! Je me rapelles que cet hiver là avait été particulièrement long donc ça a pris un peu de temps avant que la végétation estivale soit visible dans les paysages!

    Reminds me a lot of the U.S. State of Missouri, particularly I-55 south of St. Louis, and I-70 east-to-west (St. Louis to Kansas City).

    Ontario (with the 400 series highways), Quebec's Autoroutes, and the Trans-Canada in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia along with a few of Nova Scotia's 100 series highways are really the only controlled-access freeways that rival US interstates in my opinion. It would be cool if the TCH was a controlled-access highway across the entire country but it's probably not feasible yet.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  3 роки тому

      I agree! But I think that the section between Sault-Ste-Marie and the Manitoba border is the less that is likely to be converted into a Freeway because of low traffic. If you could at least have more than ONE road that separate the country in two (Nipigon river bridge), that would be great!

  • @CrystalClearWith8BE

    New Brunswick Route 2 (NB 2) is an arterial road of the province and is entirely a freeway and the TCH Mainline through the province. What's interesting is in the western portion of NB 2, it's closer to the US border to Maine.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  3 роки тому

      Indeed! I remember there's a place where it's only a couple of hundreds of meters away from USA. It's particularly interesting since it's the Trans Canada highway lol

    Couple of weeks ago I went to Moncton from Toronto. NB is a beautiful province and the drive was nice also helps that they have a 110km speed limit lol.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  7 років тому +2

      Man that's quite the drive. 1 month ago I went to Toronto from Québec City and it was already a long drive! That must have been almost 16hrs for you eh ?
      Thanks for watching!

      You got it. 16 hours.

    • @FreewayFranks

    Nice video. As an American married to a Maritimer, now living in PEI, I know a lot of the roads in your videos.
    Any plans to do a video for NS 104/NS 105 from the Canso Causeway to North Sydney, NS (the eastern end of the TCH in mainland Canada)? If not, I recommend it!

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  7 років тому +1

      Thank you man ! I love the Maritimes, it's the perfect spot for vacations !
      I would like to come back to PEI, I'm targeting the PEI 1 between the bridge and Charlottetown. Would you recommend me some others interesting drives on the island that could be worth filming ? Feel free !

    This route was awesome, just you, the car and the freeway.
    Though it must have been hard not to treat the road like it didn't have a speed limit.

    Beau voyage encore une fois. Par contre je m'interroge sur une chose, chez nous il y'a une aire de repos avec station service tous les 50km environ. Quelle est la fréquence sur ce genre de route? Car ton timelapse à l'air assez elevé.

    • @FreewayFranks
      @FreewayFranks  7 років тому +1

      Merci ! ... oui effectivement ça manque d'aires de repos au Canada comparativement aux États-Unis, ça m'a frappé. Par exemple, lorsque je suis allé dans le Vermont, un petit état de même pas 1 million d'habitants, il y avait une aire de repos ou de restauration à tous les 20 à 30 km ! ... alors qu'ici sur la NB-2, les panneaux bleus annoncent les services offerts dans un village, mais il faut quitter l'Autoroute et parfois le village est un peu plus loin dans les terres...Par contre dans le Sud du Québec et de l'Ontario, la zone la plus populeuse du pays, les aires sont plus fréquentes.
