I love these Bickerton/Waddington composed songs by The Rubettes! The band would ditch the songwriting team in 1976 and start composing their own country Pop flavoured songs and those songs are great too! A marvellous band with a sense of humor.

Bill Hurd was gone shortly after, leaving The Rubettes down to a 4 piece. They would venture into a more Country Pop territory shortly after, to great artistic success yet little commercial success.
Personally the Rubettes’ best musical effort. It reminds me of Don’t do it baby by sis and bro Mac & Katie Kissoon. Easy comparision, both songs are written by the same team, Bickerton and Waddington.
Next to Sugar Baby Love and I Can Do It, Little Darling is easily my favourite Bickerton/Waddington written song. Soon afterwards, The Rubettes would ditch their songwriting team and start composing their own singles and album tracks, to great artistic success. Commercially speaking, only Baby I Know(1977) made it into the UK Top 10 but they had several self composed songs across several European countries, especially in Germany and France.

they are fantastic in live they deserved more credits then they ever get. a lot of bullshit about this group they goodnt sing only playback. alan has a bad voice etc. they still performing it is 2 groups. i like alan williams the most.
