Hmm, I’m not entirely sure as I haven’t worked in a company that has both functions. However, based on a quick google search it seems the PM has higher responsibility since they own more decisions
Hi, just curious why you chose PM over software dev/data science? Since you’re from an engineering background, didn’t you want something more technical?
Hey! A lot of PMs actually switch from those roles as well. Most of my colleagues were software developers in the past. You do need technical knowledge as a PM, it also depends on the team you’re on as the depth of knowledge needed may vary. The reason why I chose PM is because it aligns more with my career goals and still has the technical aspect. I’m sure if I went the software dev route, I would have later switched to PM so just better to do it now.
@@TobiDerinhi Tobi, thank you so much for responding. Do you by any chance know of Bootcamps that are open for people based in the African region? Not coding based, but for product/project management, business/systems analysis, cloud architecture etc ?
Thank you for this video. I started my PM journey with cousera
Glad you enjoyed it. That’s great!! Wishing you the best!
Did you get your first role as an associate pm or you got into pm straight away?
Which one has higher responsibility between PM and PO?
