CHARLOTTE WEATHER HISTORY: Snow Storm of January 7, 1988

This was one of the biggest snow storms in the history of the Charlotte area and the biggest one to occur in January! This was also only the second time in history that a foot or more of snow fell in Charlotte in one day.

I remember this storm when I was working for IBM in Charlotte. We had a snow total of 18" at our house here in Gastonia. I'll never forget it.

This must be the snowstorm my mom always talked about. Apparently my dad's mom kicked her out into a snowstorm when she was pregnant with me while he was at work. She didn't believe i was my dad's. Surprise, though! Spitting image 😂

I was born in Charlotte. I have traveled around a bit, and you are severely underselling Charlotte. Its a nice location and city to "live" in, many other places are nicer to visit, but not livable imo
