I just removed the Edelbrock intake and AVS2 from my 73 (prior owner installed them) and replaced them with correct iron intake and QJet. Runs much better now.
@@TheMakoRay Bogging badly and running rich. Mechanic said the carb was oversized for the engine anyway (don't know what size it was). I suppose there may have been a fix for it, but I wanted to restore the car anyway, so I sourced the correct parts (major PITA and $$$).
Tell me about it! Rochester doesn't make Quadrajets anymore, so unless you want a cheapo remake, you're stuck sourcing a correct one and rebuilding it. Mine wasn't correct anyway, and I have to say, the Edelbrock runs amazing. I'll have new vids up of that soon! Most importantly though, I'm glad the 73 is up and running well!
