      Actually, now I think he says this because it’s all about money. Tell parents I can make your kid a great player no matter what their athletic ability is so they pay to get in the club.

    The #1 method was how I was taught to train for rugby. I found it and track training had the biggest impact on my game. I think the continuous footwork for 10-15 minutes, good for mobility too

    The Bayern of Munich is implement a lot of strength training to their athletes, it became even a meme because their players are looking much stronger (upper body) than other football players. You could make a react of Adama Traore, he plays at England and he is really strong!! Nice content by the way

    Such a gem for field players conditioning! But as a goalie I still have questions. For me keepers got to train almost like jumpers, focusing on explosiveness, coordination, feet quickness, but so often we have to do some conditioning with other team or fly from angle to angle many times in a row on goalkeeper trainings. What do you think about key points in conditioning for goalies, coach?

    Creative ideas. European coaches have done a lot of time and motion studies. As the game has evolved so have the conditioning demands on the players. Also, different tactical approaches change those demands. I recall that Dutch teams traditionally let the ball do the running, sprint more than their British counterparts, and run for less time at slower speeds than the Brits. On this side of the Atlantic, our players need a lot more time with the ball as their technical skills are underdeveloped. Conditioning should be a secondary consideration given this state of affairs.

      I do think our players are far faster and more athletic, but also lack the skill and experience, given that it's $2-4k/season to play club. Also, I'm 2.5 hours away from the nearest pro club. I've been told by ex-premier league coaches that I can make my way to first or second tier football easily, but there weren't openings and I need to find a team. That was in 2016 and again in 2018. There's a ridiculous amount of talent in the US rotting because of lack of teams.

    • @AlteredState1123
      @AlteredState1123 2 роки тому +2

      Kyle, first of all, congratulations on possessing talent and on having developed skill. My condolences on not being able to find the right venue for development. Without the fan base and football culture the situation will persist. Let’s face it, travel clubs in the US exists to make money for coaches. The clients, families who can spend the money to feel special. Fifteen years ago I subbed for a travel coach for one 1.5 hour practice. My compensation, $150. $150! Made me consider whether I should give up my day job for which I have a master’s degree. I hope you find you niche and can enjoy many more years playing the beautiful game.

      He biked for 20-30 minutes to and from practice for years. Aerobic conditioning is the precursor for increased performance. Aerobic conditioning is phenomenal, but only when paired with anaerobic and speed work. For me, playing pickup once or twice a week and doing a half marathon training plan worked wonders. Doing mobility stretching before and after long runs prevented pain, lifting weights once or twice a week proved sufficient and doing one or two true Sprint sessions a week did wonders for my acceleration and top speed. I've been playing for 11 years but didn't start till I was 15, so I'm a Kante style player. Obviously I can't compare him and myself, but I've never been tired at the end of a match doing this work.

    I agree 100%. Soccer coaches are still so far behind. The director of one of the biggest soccer clubs in Vegas actually told me athleticism was unimportant for soccer. It’s all about thinking. What do you even say to someone who thinks like that???
