I can say that, despite my ship being a poor ax combat ship, I still charged in and attacked the titan, despite the odds of dieng. I wanted to protect my homeworld!
Every CMDR who jumped to the defense of the core sectors, whether it was evacuating refugees, clearing conflict zones around the clock or just shooting the titan for the sick decal was a hero. Hope this teaches the bugs to stay out of our way.

The feels hit SO hard! I'm so proud to have been a part of this truly epic saga. It's been like nothing else I've ever experienced in a videogame, and FDev knocked out out of the park. I got a little misty watching this, and finally getting the 8th pip on my Titan ship decal. Hoping for an amazing 2025, bit also hoping we get a little bit of calm before the next major event. o7!

Not everyone is that engaged into the game and news and are happy to get condensed information from people who invest their time to prepare such videos. I love AX combat. I loved the war. But I also hope for more non war interactions in the future. It's not a contradiction to desire both. I hope in the future we have more non combat options.

Way ahead of you, I'm planning a Expedition to the Gaurdian Worlds officially for Exploration and to survey the systems so I can Upload the Data to Universal Cartograohics, but unofficially it's to retrieve Gaurdian Relics and survey any landfall Worlds for future Colonization so when the Colonization update comes out I'm going to make a Space Truckstop for players who want to go east from the Bubble and maybe make their home away from the core
I've saved hundreds of lives, nearly blowing my engines in order to get in and out of systems with scared, fearful lives. I've killed dozens of the Thargoids, dodging and weaving among star ports and above planet settlements. I braved the caustic clouds and pulsing waves of the storm surrounding Cocijo. I stared its heart down as I loosed every weapon I had into it. When it blew, I was not there to see it. I was elsewhere, in Sirius and Procyon, shuttling supplies to repair ports and fighting with bandits to reactivate abandoned outposts. Now, quiet settles upon the galaxy. As these systems ravaged by war rebuild, I find myself with less and less reason to stay. Once things are fully done here, I will turn my sights outwards, to the vast unplumbed beauty of the stars. Our next steps lie there. New homes for those who lost theirs. Our job is just beginning. In the future, there will be those who asked what I did during the Thargoid War. I will say "Everything."
In the time of the Thargoid war, I went from a new CMDR to transport pilot. Eventually became a space uber who explored and transported people around. To then helping the evac effort on SOL. And then deciding to get involved as an AX pilot, despite not being prepared. I did the best I could despite being ill prepared and even hiring a new pilot to fight with me who would become an expert war buddy. But now there's only one question left. "What's next for me?" Let us begin again.
Now that the war appears to be over, I'm hoping Fdev you start adding the real content we've been looking for. System Colonization is an awesome new addition we can't wait to use. Hopefully we can eventually develop cities on planets that are grander than what is in Star Citizen. New land vehicles and possibly better planetary tech before you start another war with the Thargoids. I don't think we have seen the last of them but I myself would rather see more additions to the game before they come back. Fdev you done well so far winning us back. Keep up the good work! 07
Don't expect any grand cities on planets, access to earth like worlds, etc. The engine would never be able to handle it, and even if it did, it would run so poorly on 99% on machines (like it did with odyssey) that nobody would be able to enjoy etc. A more realistic expectation is an expansion to what Odyssey already started, maybe access to slightly higher atmospheric worlds to work on landscapes and physics, testing the waters if you will. I doubt anything will happen beyond that though.
@@tvman2563 For better planetary tech you are definitely right there needs to be a new game engine. Everything else I mentioned is doable especially if they make the tool available for us to use. Another thing they can do right now is to have the human npcs in the game start using the facilities in game like the hospitals, washrooms, cafeterias and other areas. When you enter Odyssey settlements they seem dead outside of work areas and security. If we could create places and have civilians there the game would seem more alive. Its always good to imagine.
Truly an incredible experience it has been. Rich content from start to finish, every titan unique and totally not just the same event repeated 7 times. Even the big finale, in the Sol system of all places did something so different to all the previous times. The only way to participate was to spend $50 on virtual currency or 500 hours grinding, and worth every penny and second. Truly the best moment in gaming history, and not at all falling short of the very bare minimum level of effort.
This really was an epic storyline and conclusion. Shout-out to the Hero of Humanity, CMDR Mechan for his, and his AXI compatriots for helping not only hold the line but for teaching so many to fight back.
Smashing thargoids in huge hunting packs of experienced AX pilots was an absolute blast, especially once Cocijo was on the move & they began appearing in Sol. Really felt like it was 'all hands on deck'. The battle of Rhea out by Saturn's moons with the AXI crew was memorable. Instances that were kept rolling for days while the Pilot's Federation combat bond printer went 'BRRRR'. Beaucoup fun.👍

It's no coincidence that the only negative comments are by those who didn't take part in this war, who didn't feel the rush of solo bombing a Titan, or defending a settlement or star port next to other commanders. AX combat was amazing and I'm sure this is not the end of it. There is no way that our AX fighters, the atmospheric Guardian sites, the combat against Thargoids will go obsolete. I'm convinced this was just the end of the beginning. 2024 has been an amazing year for Elite, 4 new awesome ships, engineering rebalanced, powerplay 2.0 actually makes sense and was quickly fixed and balanced, fsd booster made a huge QOL impact, storage tripled, and now colonization will allow us to make our own bubbles and homes. In just a year, Elite Dangerous went from a dying game, with valid discussions about how to preserve it when the servers close, to a having its best run ever, and fdev for a company that was legendary out of touch with what we want to actually listening and caring for its amazing community, and realizing that Elite is the REAL money maker. Thank you fdev for getting your priorities straight, this is something that I would never thing I would be saying a year ago but I actually trust you to make Elite even better. But most of all, thank you to all the commanders for being part of the most amazing community, which is Elite's real strength. o7
They sure realized the real money maker alright, by taking out 90% of the ship skins only to drip-feed them back at us during limited FOMO times at a ramped up price. Not saying the content hasn't been great, but as like all other gaming companies out there in 2024, they are incredibly out of touch.

So seeing this made me look something up... Turns out it's been about 5 or 6 years since I properly played this game, man time flies. I still remember the good ol' Enigma Expedition. How is the game currently? I'm thinking now of perhaps giving it another go.
What if this is like the, “Ender’s game” plot where we take the fight to the bugs homeworld, drive to near extinction, and then raise its babies as allies. Uniting our technology and branching out to other corners of the galaxy much faster. Then inevitably reaching the next frontier of other galaxies.

Frontier didn't expect the response they got to Cocijo... It was over in under two weeks.
Goids had to be aware that their Earth excursion would be a one-way trip. It would've been quite something if they decided to go out in a blaze of glory by flooring their titan and pointing it directly at Earth. "Enjoy your victory, humans".
I wish this game was still supported on console. One of my favorite games of all time.

So seeing this made me look something up... Turns out it's been about 5 or 6 years since I properly played this game, man time flies. I still remember the good ol' Enigma Expedition. How is the game currently? I'm thinking now of perhaps giving it another go.
What if this is like the, “Ender’s game” plot where we take the fight to the bugs homeworld, drive to near extinction, and then raise its babies as allies. Uniting our technology and branching out to other corners of the galaxy much faster. Then inevitably reaching the next frontier of other galaxies.
Something tells me we've not seen the last of the bugs... they're patient. They can wait for their revenge.
