My hooking advice would be to think of the sweet spot in relation to YOURSELF rather than the water. Yes, aim to get the fish as it emerges from the water, but if you miss you can take a step back and still get it as it keeps coming towards you. It's possible to still get them JUST before they go over the wheel and disappear. Just got to keep it that certain distance away.
I noticed that the hook for retrieving the fish works quite weill if you place the front (hooks section) ever so slightly in a way that the line runs through it. when the fish comes up and the head of fish hits the head of hook it gets pulled in without even the need for fancy clicking... retrieving the buoy can be a challenge in weather though :-)

Where is the refueling station? I can find the small ones, but they are running dry. I got the small service boat with an external tank, but no refuling in sight.

A few q's - Can you change bait after you placed the hooks on the back of the boat? (if you have it other bait in your inventory) -I keep getting the message 'no fish habitat' (or something like that) I'm in the area... -the fish icon/area moves so fast I can't seem to keep up with it. tyvm!
How do you change long lines? I've got two 500 hooks and 2 2500 hooks. I want to change all of them but it won't let me buy more or sell the ones I have
Beware ⚠️ that boat i am stuck in the longline boat literally atm on my save lol I got this bug where I can’t go through the door onto deck it puts my head through the roof while body still standing Inside cab so basically stuck in never ending door loop unable to get to my baited longlines in the middle of the ocean 😂
@@SimUKReviews Yeah hard to pinpoint exact cause a few things went cranky before with a longline stuck sinking then enter/exit cab kinda clipped me inside back wall of boat permanently. Unfortunately I saved and reloaded longline in water was totally gone but cab issue persisted so yeah I just left it now and will try again after next patches.
I remember reading in the dev notes leading up to early access release saying I can have up to 3 friends help on the same boat as a full crew of 4 as online co-op play like we’ve all wanted in North Atlantic and barants sea. The whole reason I bought the game was to work the same boat not have 4 separate boats going around together doing the same stuff. And yes it was about real people online and not hired crew members that they talked about. Fingers crossed 🤞
Seems to be a nice game... I will follow it's dev. But you are in the wrong costume and doing the wrong thing. Nowadays, if you have a boat the right dressing is like a pimp and you will not going to fish, but to film a porn, have a drug party or to leave some bodies on the deep waters. Hope the devs implement these options. Cheers!

My 2500 hook line has been launching for what feels like forever... Do I need to pull the line straight for it to launch?
Straighter the better.
Did the newest update reset the boat upgrades? People are saying the purchased upgrades are wiped.
It didn't happen to me, but I have heard that for some it appears to have wiped some boat upgrades out.

Great question. I think not at the moment is the right answer, but I will try and mention it to the devs.
Sounds like you ha e saved and reloaded whilst in a fishing area, simply leave and save again....seems to fix it for.me.

I've had something similar....but they patched that out.
Might be a new bug, will test in the am.
