"it's very hard to determine who's home and who's away" lol Go Dodgers!
I'm impressed that he's actually doing press before the game. And a game that he's not even going to play in. It's so great that he's letting his personality show this year
Ohtani doesn't actually play in any game. He DHs. To earn his pay he is probably told to do more interviews. Not playing today, yet on the MLB site he is not listed as on the bench but is listed as in the bullpen????? Also on the Dodgers roster he is listed not as a DH, Infield or Out field. But as a TWP. WHAT???? How much rest does a DH need???
@@hughkerins3151
You’re all over the place. I feel like I lost a few IQ points trying to read this.
@@hughkerins3151 You really know nothing about baseball or Ohtani.
@@mikio6444 Sorry if you lost IQ points. Your response shows you don't have many to start with.
@@Ffollies I know that a DH isn't a TWP and that someone who can't pitch this season doesn't belong on the bullpen stat sheet. What do you know about baseball or Ohtani? Enlighten me.
Definitely needed him today smh
We could have used the Sisters of Mercy today !!!
doubt he'd have been worth 5 runs.
The MLB regular season consists of 162 games, but the Dodgers are aiming to become the world champions in the World Series. Therefore, when you factor in this postseason, the number of games that Ohtani is expected to play is about 180. His sense of this schedule is completely unknown, and he is currently in the process of groping for that feeling. In such a regular season, it is essential to have about 3 to 4 rest days per month to maintain his performance, and he should not be blamed for doing so. Above all, it is truly fortunate that he is under a manager who never lacks communication with each player and is always sensitive to the health status of each player.
well said
agreed. when in the Angels the manager just let him do what he wanted, and he wanted to play, every game, to help his team, overworking his body. Now he knows that there are other teams members to count on and he can take days off when needed. this is good, esp. he's still in rehab and there's a long way to go till the playoffs
@@gsmarcom now that he's acclimated to playing in the Dodger team, he realized he had slight lower back tightness...from single-handedly carrying the Angels team the last six years.
I like Ohtani, but I think it’s really rude that He uses an interpreter when we see him talking to his teammates everyday. He knows
English after living here for 6 years already. Is he going to use an interpreter the whole ten years he’s here?
Dear@@socalfun64
Thank you for your comment. As you mentioned, Ohtani san does have instances where he converses through an interpreter, but there are also many instances where he converses in English on his own. However, I agree with the following reasons for Ohtani san’s use of an interpreter, especially during press conferences:
1.Language Accuracy: Ohtani san is a professional athlete, and his words are as important as his performance. By using an interpreter, he can convey his thoughts and feelings most accurately. Even if he is confident in English, speaking in his native language, Japanese, allows him to express deeper insights and complex emotions.
2.Cultural Respect: Ohtani san’s use of an interpreter is also a testament to his respect for his own culture and language. This shows that he values being true to himself and cherishing his roots.
3.Clarity of Communication: Sports is an international stage, and athletes come from diverse backgrounds. By using an interpreter, Ohtani san can convey his message as clearly as possible. This helps avoid misunderstandings and enables more effective communication.
4.Reducing Pressure: Speaking English in front of the media can be a significant pressure, especially for non-native speakers. By using an interpreter, Ohtani san can alleviate this pressure and focus more on his work.
For these reasons, Ohtani san’s use of an interpreter is a very rational choice and can be seen as an expression of his professionalism and respect. It is important to respect Ohtani san’s choice to continue using an interpreter. This shows that he recognizes the importance of being himself and speaking in his own words. This is part of his success, and denying it would be denying his individuality and talent. This is just speculation, but perhaps Ohtani san is following the approach of Ichiro san, who had a long and successful career in the MLB.
Everyone forgets what Asstros has done and is still blaming Yu Darvish. This is who he is and we have been revenged.
GO DODGER BLUE!!!
I'm not at all worried about our pitching. When Andrew decides to move now, rather than wait for the deadline, and trade for Chas Chisolm and Tanner or Washington's leadoff hitter. We can trade one of our top catching prospects and an arm. I tell you this, Landon Knack could bring a haul! Teams will give a left lugnut for a good arm, starting pitvř
I wonder how much it pisses off Angels Fans that Shohei has already done more press interviews with the Dodgers than the entire 6 years he was in Anaheim? Lol
They paid him big money. I feel ya, but he has to produce more than just on the field
I am not upset. When he sign the contract to Angels it was agree upon very minimal interviews. Dodgers contract has some interviews. I am happy for Ohtani anyway.
@@sarahlee3056 I was genuinely curious. I was never a Dodger fan nor Angels. But I am a Shohei fan.
Maybe he thought Ippei was a bad translator. lol
He will DH 150 games.
改善してて良かったよ
Man, his translator blinked about 100 x's in 1 sec
he just didn’t want to wear pink that’s all
Ha! We could have used his Pink Bat!
The offense was awful today. 4 hits total. YU owns the Dodgers, he shuts them down every time. Pitched 7 innings allows 2 hits. Buehler needs more rehab time. Control is not there.
I think the time is right to forget about Outman. When you are hitting.150 or so. We don't have time to wait around with wasted at bat after at bat, to see if he can eventually hit .200 this year. Anybody is going to do better. Except, maybe CT Lol. Better to do it now than get into the Playoffs with low scoring close games, and he's an Automatic Out.
@@vernpascal1531 Great take and spot on. Maybe when Heyward comes back Outman is out.
@@henrykaiser8809 Yeah I don't say it glibly. Outman plays hard, and is a good outfielder, and likeable guy.,But when you are down around.150.-160. this far in -.210-230. doesn't look too bad. I think Heyward can certainly do that at least in right with Pages in CF.
Cute
Bought tickets to see Jung ho lee and ohtani . Both injured wtf
skipped taking in the game today, no ohtani no point
Are there no decent translators in this world?
give him one month off.
Ohtani not playing today. On MLB site for todays game he is not listed as on the Bench, but is listed as in the Bullpen.????? On the LA Dodgers roster Ohtani is listed as a TWP. ????? Why are they doing that???
How many times you gonna copy and paste this same inane comment?
@@mikio6444Probably as many times as Ohtani a DH gets a days rest.
翻訳があまり上手ではないな。
Threw a “it’s not a rivalry” parade in our city, filled our stadium to capacity, and watched us take 2 of 3 😂😂😂
Anyone know how much he gets paid for sitting on the bench?
more than ur entire working lifetime
He makes you look like a bum. Now stfu.
Mark these words: When it counts the most, the Dodgers will crumble. It is a reflection of their culture. From the front office to the field management, there is a complete absence of a killer instinct. They have displayed it year after year. I stopped supporting the Dodger organization a few years ago because of it. I still support certain players, because they are very talented players. But as an organization, the worst thing to happen to the Dodgers is the Guggenheim purchase. It has made Dodger culture soft. Remember the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence situation? That is the Dodgers. The Guggenheim era makes the Frank McCourt era look like paradise.
Keep managing soft, Dodger Management.
lol really the frank mccourt era? this is an embarrassing opinion.
@@pibbles9 For all its faults (and there are many), the Frank McCourt era produced baseball teams. The Guggenheim era is all about appearances. How many times has management squandered historical opportunities? Pitchers removed from no-hit games? The Guggenheim culture has nothing to do with baseball. They took over in 2012, and they have nothing to show for it. If 2020 is your mark of excellence, then I have nothing more to say to you. Guggenheim is an embarrassment. The knockout punch in the 2023 postseason exemplifies the Guggenheim era. As I said in my original post: Dodger culture has more to do with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence than baseball. Today's Dodger culture is all about appearances.
THIS IS A DODGER HATER.
@@A.Spivey When you don't have a legitimate argument, resort to the cheap shot.
Totally agree ! We have had the most talented teams in the last 8 years and with this useless manager we have done nothing !!!!! Our world Series Trophy is tainted with a shortened season. Roberts isn't a pimple on Lasorda's ass.
Pregame work out is translated as junbitaiso. This interpreter is much worse than Ippei as an interpreter.
Ippei ripped off Ohtani. Nothing will ever make him a “better” interpreter 😂
Nonsense. Don’t even reminds that Disgraceful Ippei. A loser.

He's a DH how much rest can someone needs
he is also in rehab in case you forgot there's no need to play full season this year
He is a rehab pitcher from TJ too. All the pitchers are full time resting 8 months after TJ and even longer except him.
@@MJAriola, agree. He is in rehab with arm surgery

He MUST speak in Japanese so the 30MILLION fans in Japan could understand his words.

It is wise for the team as well as for him to take a day off. We have a long way to go for the regular season and the post season.

No, translator is much needed.
It’s fine for him to do it in Japanese. Eventually he would be doing it in English.
日本人のファンのことを考慮してのことだと思いますけど。日本のメディアも多いですし。
I don't know why you think Ohtani is ashamed. I'm proud of Ohtani as the same Asian. If Ohtani was Korean, I would be even more proud of him.

How long has this guy been in the country and still doesn’t speak English??? I BET he never tried 👎
